Written by: Njeri M. @Miss.Jerii ___________________________________ Over the weekend, #DonaldTrumpJr went to Twitter to challenge the blackness of presidential candidate #KamalaHarris (D-CA). He retweeted a comment made by #AliAlexander—a conservative commentator—that said, "Kamala Harris is *not* an American Black. She is half Indian and half Jamaican. I'm so sick of people robbing American Blacks (like myself) of our history. It's disgusting." ___________________________________ The tweet alluded to Kamala Harris not being black enough to understand the plight of African-Americans in this country even though she was born in Oakland, California and attended Howard University. She’s is also a member of #AlphaKappaAlpha Sorority Incorporated. ___________________________________ Needless to say, Donald Trump Jr.’s comment sparked much controversy amongst the Democrats and even fellow presidential hopefuls. #CoreyBooker (D-NJ), #ElizabethWarren, #BernieSanders and #JoeBiden were amongst the many politicians who rallied around Harris in support to affirm that she is indeed a black woman and that her blackness should not be questioned. ________________________ After receiving a ton of backlash, Donald Trump Jr, later deleted his tweet and claimed that the tweet was a “misunderstanding.” 📸: @gettyimages https://www.instagram.com/p/BzYrAUDJrth/?igshid=15vbi275b7m9k
