“I took some time to research my card in terms of the more common designs for seven of cups and their meanings. I originally started going down that tradition route but I actually preferred the singular cup. In my work I’m particularly interested in myths and decorative illustration which is what influenced my colour palette and style for the card. Usually the cups are filled with certain desires/wishes, as the card is about choices and illusions, I felt keeping it empty other than the smoke speaks to the nature of the card.”
