as some of you might have noticed by the abundance of pizza jokes, gryffindor moodboards and friends post that i’ve made, it’s @alicedoesntsharefood  ‘s birthday and that requires... a sappy post... WHO WOULD’VE GUESSED

listen. listennnnn. i am still a little bit in awe that we actually got to meet. that we made it work. that some weird messages on tumblr with both of us spilling too many things about ourselves led to a drunken conversation on new year’s where you, sanne and andy decided you were coming over if i was ok with it (and dragging eline and alice down with you), to that faithful day when it wouldn’t stop raining and i recognised you by the back of your neck and i felt awkward as all hell tapping you on the shoulder, because what if it wasn’t you? SURPRISE, IT WAS. i don’t think your husband will ever forgive me for making him drink iced tea with bubbles, but tbh... worth it. 

You’re just as funny in person as you are online, maybe even funnier, and you’re exactly like I expected you to be - which I mean in the best way possible, don’t you worry. It’s a pleasure being your friend. I do apologise for my country keeping you here, and I apologise for the shitty kitchen utensils that you had to deal with, but your risotto will always be one of my fonder memories, and so will standing on a sofa dancing to Dragostea Din Tei while you’re looking at me like I have lost my mind. Which, to be fair, I have, but that’s not the point. 

I’d give you a dramatic airport hugging scene better than all the rom coms any day you’d ask me to, and also when you don’t ask (which is exactly what happened) and if that isn’t true love, idk what is. I plan on visiting you in Italy and bugging your ass soon, because now that I know how much I love being in your presence, I can’t go without it anymore. It felt like it just fit. You’re the perfect, strong-minded Gryffindor that a Hufflepunk like me needs in their life, and I’m grateful every day.

1. If you’ve ever tried drugs or alcohol, what was your reason for first trying it?Well just growing up, I enjoyed a glass of wine with fancy dinners sometimes, and parties are parties. Haven’t done drugs because I’m very obsessive about what I inhale (ah, OCD) and I’m terrified of needles, and never saw the appeal really. Don’t care if other people do them, as long as they’re not endangering anyone.2. Do you think you could ever have an abortion if you unexpectedly turned up pregnant right this second?Honestly? I don’t know. On the one hand, the entire process of reproduction terrifies me. Horrifies me. Beyond words. Favorite book? Currently, Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett. It’s the one I read most recently and I love it, so it’s my favorite for the time being.

Tell me the person you got the closest to in 2015 ... does my cat count as a person? Because I don’t like developing deep relationships with people who are casual friends.

What’s your dream profession? That one person who would probably be suspected of witchcraft in the middle ages, who lives in a house in the forest with a cat and lots of books. 

What do you want to accomplish in 2016? I want to get a tattoo, I guess.

What’s one new experience you gained in 2015? Well I got an undercut so that’s been pretty fun.

What’s something you can never forget about? The fact that @marleyyyandme‘s former crush turned into a Sasquatch after graduation.

What’s something you wish you did, but didn’t. I’ve already come to terms with most, if not all, of my regrets thus far. So idk, nothing really. I don’t dwell on the past much, and nothing springs to mind.

Would you date the last person you talked to? The last person I talked to was my teacher so hell no.

What does your dream life look like? I’s have a house in a forest that is away from people where I could write books and exist without being bothered. I’d have a very fluffy cat and when it snows in the forest we go on adventures. A girlfriend would be nice too, but I could manage by myself too. Part of me wants to adopt a kid either way, and I’d teach him all about herbs and history and feminism. I would keep bees, and grow pansies and lavender in my garden like my mother did when I was little. It would be nice to go off on a big, scary adventure, but fantasy is in books and not in real life, apparently, so it’s not like anything cool would happen. I’d probably just get a weird strain of the flu and go home miserable. Also I low-key wanna prove the existence of dragons through excavation and cultural studies but that’s pretty unlikely.  

What do you find unique about yourself? I have oddly specific, aimless ambitions.

One sound you love? The sound of the penny whistle from the Shire theme, because it makes me cry in a good way.
