I feel very blessed that Hacks can now be my perfect TV thing…which is obviously not to say that it’s a perfect show, because it isn’t. But it is consistently compelling, contains characters of all time, the universe is held together with integrity (the hand size stuff alone could earn it an A+ in this category), and the ending is so stunningly beautiful that it’s been one of the first things I’ve thought about when waking up every morning since Thursday night. I even looked at the column in my TV spreadsheet for shows that have ended that I watched through to the end to make sure this isn’t a recency bias thing, but Hacks is genuinely the one fully-complete series that hits both the character obsession and ideal ending marks *this* successfully and memorably. It makes me happy to know that whenever I rewatch it now, it’ll be with the satisfaction of knowing it’s moving towards a gorgeous ending.
