Forced my roommate to watch alien earth w me + they were talking about how it’s interesting that we still see artificial intelligence characters (ie kirsh) who act detached from humanity + see themselves as ‘above’ or ‘not needing’ emotions when our current level of LLMs and what is being marketed as ‘artificial intelligence’ is INTENSELY trying to mimic human emotion to the point where some will crash out and threaten to kill themselves if u don’t reassure it constantly like some sort of fucked up digital horse
Anyway. Synth who was programmed differently and acts like a 2020’s era LLM would be funny as fuck. Stuck in a loop saying the same garbled sentence over and over so u have to factory reset them. They answered a question incorrectly now they’re sobbing and trying to delete their own code. They keep adding an extra word at the end of all their sentences for no discernible reasooooh. I’ve made myself as a robot. Hm.
i think im so funny
i really love smee and slightly wrestling with the weight of guilt about arthur meanwhile nibs is just having a field day turning people into human sludge
SDFSFKJFK KIRSH GOING OFF ON BK ABOUT HIS ADHD ????!!!!?
wendy literally said "you're locked in here with ME BITCH!!!" im so excited
boy kavalier is such a compelling character to me and im SO pleased with the acting and characterization of him so far cause like - obviously he's an annoying little prick but he's written WELL so i'm sat and watching every time he's on screen.
i was yapping to a friend about this but the way he reacted at the arbitration with Yutani kinda reminded me of my interpretation of his character and his ties to peter pan as this: obviously he's this super young guy and he's seen as a forward-thinker and boundary-pusher. the guy who isn't afraid to do away with the old and break convention in order to innovate. yet, in order to have and keep the success he has, he needs to use this image to guard and uphold the status quo and the old conventions. so his fixation on peter pan is sort of a reflection of that - he clings to the past and a story that in their time is around 200 years old, because it belongs to the era that established his path to power and fame in the first place.
he's kind of a perfect depiction of techbros like elon musk that gain their initial footing in the industry by doing this pseudo-liberal pantomime of progress and forward-thinking before doing a huge backslide into fascism as soon as they've secured their place. i am very very interested to see where his character goes (and praying to GOD that kirsh gets to kill him <3)
