HR Giger was a Swiss artist who gave us one of the greatest creatures in sci-fi horror, the ALIEN! Based off some of the weird tales of HP Lovecraft, the movie is heavily inspired in "At the Mountain of Madness" which follows a similar plot with explorers looking for something important in the Antartica only to find that something horrible. This plot was also used for Prometheus which is a prequel to Alien that explores the origins of the Engineer (Better known as the "space jockey") who was seen petrified in Alien when the crew of the Nostromo comes into contact with the Space derelict on LV-426. HR Giger took his work very seriously and he was responsible not only for designing these beautiful sets, but also for creating and painting the alien suit.
One of the things that the movie could not use was his idea of using a pyramid instead of a half donut shaped derelict as the place where Dallas and co. find the eggs. That design was used for 1970s Dune instead, and also for Prometheus where the pyramid with the weird face on top strongly resembles Giger's first designs.
Alien is one of my favorite movies of all times, even though it scared the heck out of me when I was a kid, I loved it because it has all these weird and creepy vibes that make for an absolutely amazing movie. So I decided to do this collage of the four best known paintings of Giger's Necronimocon which were used for the movie.

One of the four is pregnant with a child, only adding to the urgency of the scene. The four move about the ship in an attempt to reach an escape pod before the ship’s countdown reaches zero, but something lurking in the bowels…
