I finished Alien: The Cold Forge

And I don't even know what to say. It certainly isn't bad at all; it's well-written, and the plot was interesting, yet it sadly didn't catch me as hard as Phalanx or later on Prototype.

Very interesting characters, Dorian is on my Top 3 hate list together with Burke and Oram, I think Dorian is the most despicable Alien character I have come across yet. I liked our protagonist, though I needed some time to warm up to her. Blue is chronically ill, like really, really ill, and able to project her mind into the body of the Android Marcus. Marcus has no control of his body when she's controlling him, and when she's not he's taking care of her as her personal nurse.

I fell in love with Marcus. He's such a cutie and fuck, he's suffering. Blue mercy kills someone late in the story, and this hurts Marcus tremendously. He can't hurt humans, won't hurt humans, and the person he cared for for years just betrayed him and used his hands to kill someone. It was mercy, the murdered person begged for it, but it really fucks with Marcus' mind. Yet he still save's blue, because that's what he does, because he's not a bad person, not like her (his own words), even though he's not happy about it. I adore him. Personally, he was the most interesting character in this book. Him, and his own version of personhood.

Oh, and we got some toxic Yuri, which was nice!
