The Dire - An idea
THE DIRE
Originally they existed formless shapeless indeed in their own little pocket dimension. Their influences sometimes seeped out causing turmoil but harmony existed and they knew nothing of the worlds beyond. Another race called the creators created worlds and more in the empty space. Soon they by accident broke the barrier and unleashed these formless things. Outside the barriers they had nonphysical shape often dark and tendrils. They preyed upon the emotions and more of the creators and their subjects. The Pride chose to experiment , picked and coerced a creator to allow Pride to possess him. His kin took after him but forced their way into their hosts.
Thus began the downfall and end of the other race as they became the main prey of the seven who learned and experimented upon their foes. To create thralls and so forth. To pursue their foes as they traveled through the dark of space they had to separate themselves from their hosts and claim new hosts again on new worlds. This cat and mouse game lasted countless of ages. And left ruin amongst the worlds. Eventually the chase ended on earth where they lost their prey. They are however ever so watchful .. ever hungry for a taste of that power again...

Should be noted that each of their role will probably vary as I mold this idea from my head into something hopefully awesome :)
So they are an alien intelligence/ demonic possessors who pursued their favorite "prey" to the world. They gather around and head the eldest ones call. He is usually referred to as the faceless one or boy due that he hides his "hosts" true face. He is Pride and can travel into the dreams and haunt people , also being able like all of them to make thralls. By infusing a living being with a small sentient part of themselves . It turns them into willing servants of them and cares not for their own safety unless commanded otherwise if one of the seven is in danger. Can remain inactive , providing them with sleeper agents which can be turned off and on. A thrall usually takes after its masters traits .
Wargoth is a tall brooding ,disfigured man who looks more like a monster then a man even with sharp teeth. He is extremly physical and things hardly damage him at all. He is wrath he serves as the elite fighter killer . The others sometimes see him as a brute but clearly has made lots of progress by his own intuition Valakia takes the body of a 15-16 yeard old girl . Shes a deviant who plays peoples hearts of fools and enyoys to make them suffer afterwards. She defends herself with tendrils of corruption. She focuses on drawing out information and despoiling truths with lies. She is Lust
Mr Whitey is a old white Russian/Texan man with a white beard , white hair and white suit and shoes. After the previous power vacuum took control and became one of the greatest crime kings known to man. He is almost unkillable having a superb regenerating ability however it gross. He grabs more power acting as adviser for many organizations such as FBI. His Thralls are perhaps the most free willed. He tends to want to send Wargoth to make his opponents meet messy ends. Moiro is a young slim man as beautiful as one can get. He plays the part of the royal son. To establish contacts and to eliminate any immediate smaller threats to their discovery. He and Envy are not found too far away from each other as they were originally cousins ( the bodies) and both worked under Mr Whitey. As thus they are the " youngest" of the seven. Decadence knows no bounds for Moiro who gluttons in all vices and never suffer its consequences. Emille is the youngest one. Youngest as in he was the last to be given a host body in the modern age. His ability to suck away the hopes of men and turn them against one another. He has not been given much of an own task and tags along Moiro . He is still mostly human as his thing grows within him. Emille is envy Beatrice is the perhaps laziest of all. She rules a small land as its ruler . A bright and strong royal family with its head who has a severe sleep disorder. When awake she walks with closes eyes except her third eye in here foread. Her all seeing eye so to say. She provides haven and diff rent roles for the beings. ( Whitey provides them with identity in earth realm our realm and Beatrice jade realm if we go after fred perrys world) She is the unexpected spy for the lot of them. Sloth
