Chris was on his third cigarette by now. Although at this point he hardly noticed. It just felt nice to have that nicotine rushing through his system after today. Honestly he loved his sister. Marian had done more for him than anyone he could think of. But sometimes, he just didn’t understand how easily she could give others a chance. Especially when one person in particular had been someone Chris had given up on and now couldn’t stand being in the same room with.
Marian had called him last night, saying that Richard had stopped by. Which had lead to an argument over the phone about how she was giving him a chance to mend the relationship between them. Chris though... he hated him. He hated Richard and hated all of the time he should have spent with them if he had really wanted to be a part of their lives. Marian thought that was unhealthy, holding onto that kind of anger. What else could he do though? Just smile and let that man back into his life like nothing had been missed? After arguing with her he hadn’t slept. He knew he should call her again and let her know he was sorry for yelling. But... maybe once he in a better place. And once he had gotten some sleep.
Right now he was sitting on the curb just in front of the door to his motel room. There was a no smoking sign inside, but he didn’t see any signs outside. His hair was a slight mess, as if he had only ran his hand through it this morning, and it was clear from the bags under his eyes he hadn’t slept well if at all. Chris was also unaware to the fact that he had pocket dialed Milo several minutes ago.
