Thoughts on Steven Universe?

I am unpleasantly surprised (the original context is “and I can’t think of anything better for the, uh, appeal of House of Leaves

I agree with you, I guess.  Now I have to start all over again from the beginning.  That’s what that guy’s name did.

Incidentally, I did start that post from a position of hating Steven Universe and denying the possibility of it being good – but that’s really beside the point, isn’t it?  "Bad" and “badness” are concepts that I find particularly hard to think of as being distinct from “goodness,” and thus something I keep trying to engage with in my own mental images, rather than focusing on as a distinct thing that needs addressing.  (“Steven Universe is good” doesn’t feel a lot like what I mean by “quality”, but then, I tend to focus on small differences between things, rather than the pattern of variation that is quality, so it’s not like the similarity between apples and oranges is going to strike me as distinct either.)

Or when people go straight for designing the Sans of the AU, and that's it. Like, it's not even an AU anymore, but just an another Sans. The other characters just become afterthoughts.

Heh, I’d thought about addressing this but decided against it since it was already long...

But yeah, a lot of times I’ll see a new AU Sans and wonder where his Papyrus is, where’s Undyne--where’s literally anyone else?? o-o;;;

But because Sans has cool powers, seems to know what’s up, and a mysterious past, everyone hones in on him and then... forgets? that you kind of need other characters to make a story?? and you can say exactly the same of papyrus, but too many people make him the innocent baby sans angsts over when he inevitably dies <:T

I dunno. It just makes me sad when other characters get ignored :’D

thank you for asking, but I’ve answered this question... a lot? so i’m just gonna be a bit more blunt this time, and i will be answering all further asks on this matter privately with just a link to this post.

 don’t take this as me being this way to you directly, kind tumblr user. i’m addressing this to all who are a fan of the AU, so don’t take any inherent frustration in my message personally.

The blog is purposefully password-protected now because I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t want people to look at it. I’m not giving out the password. I want this AU to officially just... die??? I’m not into Undertale anymore, and consistently hearing about something I have stated for ALMOST TWO YEARS now is on permanent hiatus and that I’m never touching again is grinding on my gears. If someone wants to take the AU and blog and all that off my hands, then please message me! But I don’t want anything to do with the AU anymore. It’s like when you do something cool a few years ago, but then you have Much Newer, Much Cooler things that you are far more proud of coming out now, but everyone just cares about that One Thing Two Years Ago that you never really cared about enough in the first place. as a content creator, it gets disheartening.

i’m sorry if I come across as aggressive or rude or anything of the sort. it’s truly not my intention. i don’t know how else to phrase it without grossly sugarcoating my own feelings, which, at this point, i refuse to do.

I humbly ask that all of you who are a fan of GoopyTale stop asking me about it. If you want to come up with content, headcanons, etc for the AU, please do so! You don’t have to ask me for information; just do as you want with it among yourselves. Thank you for all of the support for the AU! I will admit that I did have fun with it while I was still interested, and i’m still certainly proud of the comic pages as they were excellent practice for my officially launched original webcomic now, but it has been about two years since then. Let me let it go.
