Hello everyone,
I’m writing this with a heart full of mixed emotions, hoping this message finds you well. First and foremost, I want to say thank you. Thank you to my long-time readers who have been with me for so many chapters and stories, and a special welcome to those of you who are new here. Your support, comments, and enthusiasm have meant the world to me.
You may have noticed that things have been very quiet from me for the past few months. The silence wasn't my intention, and I'm sorry for disappearing even when I promised to return with new tales. I’m also unsure if you've seen yet, but all of my stories are currently out of sight.
But to clear things out: I have not deleted them.
I made the decision to set them to private. The reason is a deeply personal one that I’ve been grappling with for a while. Simply put, I am no longer happy with how those stories turned out, or more accurately, with the writer I became while creating them.
For the last few months, I’ve been focusing on acknowledging a difficult truth: without realizing it, I had started writing primarily to please others. I was chasing trends, worrying over stats, and trying to guess what you all wanted to read next. In doing so, I lost the very thing that made me love writing in the first place.
Writing became a chore. It became a source of anxiety instead of the joyful escape I used to turn to when I needed to slip away from reality. The hobby that once felt like coming home started to feel like a job I was failing at.
So, I had to press pause. I had to take those stories down not because I'm ashamed of them—they were a part of my journey and taught me so much—but because they represent a version of my writing that I've outgrown. I needed to create space to remember why I fell in love with writing at all.
That being said, this is not a goodbye post. Far from it.
I will return to writing. But I’ll be returning differently. My goal is to write for myself first—to tell the stories that I am passionate about, in the way that feels most authentic to me. I want to rediscover the magic and the escape, and I hope that by doing so, I can become a better, more genuine storyteller for you.
As part of this fresh start, I am also considering a practical change. You should know that I might move to a new account on Tumblr, or possibly even a different platform altogether. This current one has had some persistent technical issues that limit my ability to use all the tools I'd like, and a new space feels like the right step for an even brighter start.
This is me, trying to become a better version of myself and my writing.
It’s a little scary to share this, but you all have given me so much, and you deserve an explanation. I can only hope that you understand and that you might be willing to accompany me on this new journey, whenever it officially begins.
I will be sure to keep you updated here if and when a new page is turned.
Thank you for your incredible patience and for every bit of support you've ever given me. And like always…
With Love, @alive-gh0st
