#tumblr problems

Okay so I'm not entirely against self-reblogs not counting towards total reblogs, but 1. It should have just been that way a lot sooner, assuming the last post I reblogged not getting counted wasn't some sort of hiccup, and B. It would have been nice to have been told ahead of time this was being implemented (unless the official account said something and I just didn't pay attention, whoops)

But yeah, I only compulsively self-reblog because I really like those posts. Since I hardly get any interactions on most things I post anyway (unless I'm ranting about someone else's work or whatever), and since I don't post on this site for PAY/CLOUT/whatever, I can't imagine anyone thinking I'd ever reblog my own post upwards of twice to inflate numbers...

IS TUMBLR PLANNING TO DISCONTINUE REBLOGS????? ...I'm only HALF serious but uh, might explain some things...?

One thing I don’t like about Tumblr, half my feed are my own posts and reposts, the other half is fanfics for fandoms I’m not part of (mainly anime). I read most of my favorite Tumblr posts on YouTube shorts/Instagram with minecraft parkour in the background. Why do I have to have specific hyperfixation in mind in order to be entertained on Tumblr?

I know there's some Wattpad/A03 immigration drama going on right now but all it took was me using the Fan Fiction tag ONCE before it started flooding my dash with the Virtues of Archive of Our Own...

Bros... There's only so many times I can click "Not Interested In This Post"... please don't make me block the tags too... Though honestly, I blame the way this site expects you to handle things, but yeah.

Hey, uh, is disabling reblogs per post a new feature or something? I could probably think of a few reasons why OTHERS would want to disable that function, but then... I dunno, somehow I've been up past midnight again and I just can't wrap my head around why I would want to disable 'em for any of my OWN posts.

I think most people on this site actually prefer reblogs and/or comments to likes... but I guess it depends on what you're posting and why, lol. Just silly to me you're not wanting to have your posts shared around like that when there are so many other functions you can use (private posting, disabling notifications on a post, etc). depending on the situation. Like, if you just want to archive your art with no hassle or such, I Kinda Get That, at least, but I like hearing what people think about my stuff. I'm lucky if I get even THAT much, lol

Correct me if I'm wrong about my assumptions and/or my understanding of how this site works, though!

Has anyone else had an issue with Tumblr not logging them in on desktop? I literally got an email notification from them this morning (unrelated to this issue, an activity notification) but the website is saying my email address isn't connected to an account?

I've tried clearing my cache and cookies

I had a major Tumblr scare. On Sunday, I was forced out of the account and genuinely thought my blog got terminated.

Apparently, the platform's AI filters dubbed me a spammer, and I almost lost this little corner - thankfully, the support team got back to me quickly and restored the blog.

But it is concerning. I got shadowbanned several times, and this incident was the worst out of them all because my blog literally disappeared from the platform.
