due to all the ai chatbot ads that been showing up a few tumblr users have been proposing a black out day on the 26 of February where no one logs in for the whole day to show we actually care about what they advertise and show that we're against it! Spread the message!

@tumblr @staff how many hundreds of botnet-added automated rape threats will there be on every single post before this site collapses from the sheer volume of them? for every human post, there can be hundreds of spam responses threatening rape, murder, kidnapping, and on and on and on. there is NOTHING we can do to prevent this from happening without leaving the site entirely, because we already report all of these spam threats, and you do nothing with those reports! the spambots remain, and they keep rapidly spamming no matter what we do. we can't do anything more, you have to do something.
the posts are clearly coming from one single source. they always use one of a small number of identical threats, down to even the spelling errors. you clearly are already able to detect them as spam on some level, since they show up in the activity dropdown and on the activity page, but not in the notes tab of the post itself unless you look at the graph. so why are you letting these known spambots drown out everything in the activity page / dropdown when you could be removing the bot accounts? why are you letting these rape threats stand? what is the point of this?
