I forgot to post that I worked out on Tuesday.

Did an upper body workout today after shoveling the 1.5 inches of snow that we got. Minnesota hasn’t felt very wintery so far so while I have bad winter driving anxiety I do love the beauty of the snow. I took a few days off from working out when it didn’t work with my schedule so I’m glad I worked out today.

The current workout challenge I’m doing is supposed to run for a few more weeks but there is a new one starting on Monday and I’ll be switching over to that one.

Something I’m still struggling with is making sure that I am eating enough/specifically eating enough protein. Today I didn’t start my workout until 11 and I really didn’t eat much beforehand and I think that contributed to me not being able to lift as much. Just something I think meal prepping more will help.

Finished my second workout yesterday! My legs were feeling pretty sore and I was glad it was an upper body day. I also managed to get to the gym at around 8 am and the gym wasn’t very busy at all and I didn’t have to wait at all for any equipment. My only issue I have right now with the Alive app is that I wish there were more angles of the workout that helped explain the moves and right form.

Decided not to shower at the gym this time since I was just going straight home afterward.

Today is an active rest day and I’m meant to take a walk, I might try to go during my lunch break today while it’s still light out. I’m definitely sore today but I know it will ease up over time, it really has been months since I’ve worked out so this is to be expected.

Did my first workout of the year today! I planned to go before having to briefly go into work but instead just went after. I was so nervous when I got there and started to panic when I first couldn’t find a place that had mats for doing my warm up stretches on so I briefly just did them in a corner of the gym but then got self conscious and just started my workout, I also couldn’t initially find the piece of equipment I needed and literally just kept walking around the whole planet fitness until I finally found it.

Once I finished that set the leg press was open so I used that, couldn’t figure out what the weight was with no plates on it but by my last set I had 15 on each side and could definitely go heavier next time. The rest of my workout was good minus the fact that all the 15 lb dumbbells were in use when I needed to initially but honestly I need to work on my form for lunges so it’s fine I only used 5s.

Then for my cooldown I did find where the mats were and stretched and then it was time for the part I was most nervous about.

Showering.

Even though it’s Saturday I wanted to treat it like it was before work which is when I plan on regularly working out from now on so I wanted to shower for the first time here. I have showered at gyms in the past but this one was new to me so I was nervous but I thankfully discovered that across from the shower was a whole changing area that had a locked door and was completely private! No more awkwardly trying to put on clothes in the locker area! My only complaint about the shower was the shower curtain did not feel long enough but no one else was in the area so it was fine. Got changed and did my skin care and hair, I now know I need to get a mini hair brush for my bangs and I was all set as if I was going to work.

Now I’m at home drinking my milk tea protein drink and snuggling with my cat. I’m so glad that I got through my head and managed to actually go to the gym, there is still a lot I don’t feel comfortable using but I hope as I get more and more consistent I feel more confident! Also hoping that in the morning when I go it will be less busy than it was today.
