i'm not sure if this is kind of a cop-out answer, but Ehryu's first friend was her sister Dyaala. :) Ehryu is the oldest and Dyaala's only a year younger, and their community was very small, so it was pretty much the natural conclusion.

obviously Ehryu remembers her, and they're very much still close! they're not particularly similar to each other as adults, so it's different now, but they love each other as much as ever.

Talk about some of the people your OC has lost contact with over the years. Do they have any regrets about losing these people and would they revist them if they could?

Ehryu is notably really good at staying in contact with people. she goes back to visit old quest NPCs and the like all the time, and treats everyone like her best friend, so of course she'd make time for them. she can't believe anyone would be surprised by the Warrior of Light popping by to say hello to this tiny village nobody.

when she doesn't stay in contact with someone, it's because she can't. because they're dead, or physically inaccessible, like crossover characters who have gone back to their own worlds, or... look, i'm still not entirely sure how she initially got to Eorzea, but i'm operating on the premise that she hasn't been able to make it back to Meracydia.

...There is one person she technically could visit again. and very much wants to. but doesn't.

Like we can return to Elpis. Ehryu has realized that it would be theoretically possible for her to go back and look for Venat. and thinking about the possibility wrecks her. She wants to apologize, she wants to receive an apology, she wants to just spend another moment with her. She wonders what's stopping her. Fear of wrecking the timeline? Not wanting to put her own and Hydaelyn's burdens on past Venat? Knowing that seeing her again would make it harder to leave? or would break her? The knowledge that it's not right to (very literally) live in the past? Any or all of the above, she just knows in her gut, with certainty, that it wouldn't be right. so she won't let herself entertain the idea, not even for a second.

What does X'khal admire most in a person? Who has he met that has those qualities/behaviours and does he aspire to be more like them?

So there's really two answers to this. There's the one X'khal would give if you asked him, and there's the real answer.

X'khal would tell you, very honestly, that he admires professionalism - the sort of person who takes their responsibilities seriously, and who when they have a job to do will get on with it and get it done without fuss, whether or not they find it unpleasant. This is the ideal he aspires to himself, and there's a number of people he's come in contact with along his travels who, in his eyes, fit the description. Merlwyb's example is what prompted him to join the Malestrom, and he gets on quite well with Lucia in Ishgard, with whom he has a mutual respect.

The real answer, the one X'khal is not really capable of acknowledging himself, is that what he actually admires most in other people is emotional strength and resilience. The capacity to cope with loss and hardship, and to remain open and giving to other people even knowing what it's like to be hurt. Pretty much everyone he meets has more emotional resilience than X'khal, but the specific example that comes to mind here is Haurchefant... so yeah.

It's not really an example X'khal aspires to, not because he doesn't want that kind of strength, but because he's fully convinced he's not capable of it.

I have a question for you :) I see you reblogging and supporting everyone else with their WOL/OC posts and ask memes (thank you for always sending me something to think about! 💖), but I often miss your posts about your own OCs.. SO, do you have an intro post, or a carrd or something you can link me to? Or would you like to give a quick intro to your OCs now for the likes of me that doesn't know a thing / forgets easily if they're not regularly in my face?

I do have an intro post!!! But it's usually flying around and probably easy to miss, so let me do a quick reintroduction:

Helvi, the smallest Roegadyn out there, is The WoL (and not exactly happy with it) with an unclear past and a teeny tiny identity crisis, but does her best to live her life to the fullest. She follows Menphina, crafts jewellery, casts spells, dances a lot and loves generously <3

And Arianna is a reformed bandit turned Immortal Flame turned Azure Dragoon, who often accompanies Helvi on her adventures and and makes a good counterbalance for her in many ways. She's spiky and snarky, and secretly loves crocheting, Far-Eastern culture and more people she would ever admit out loud.

They used to be a trio, but their third sister died in the Calamity :(

💤 What was your OC like as a baby, a child and as a teen? (if your OC is a teen or a child, what will they be like as an adult?). How have they changed since then? What lessons have they learned and what things about their youth do they miss the most? Do they have any general regrets?

💤Arianna doesn't miss anything about her childhood. She was a lonely kid - thin, secondhand clothes, bullied Duskwight among the Gridanians - and the only person she could rely on was her brother... until he took off to become a pirate, never to be seen again. She's much happier now, having found a place where she belongs and people who love and appreciate her. She knows now the world and life can be... well... good.

🍇Helvi struggles for quite a while before she picks night, sun and winter. I mean, she loves all of these, but 1) night is when she can see Menphina wander the sky, 2) sunrises and sunsets are beautiful, and 3) winter has had a special place in her heart because of reasons <3

Oh I like this game! AAAA so many to choose from, let's see.. 💖 + 🌦️ for both Raine and X'khal please.

For Raine it's a tough call! She has a lot of clothes for someone who leads a largely itinerant lifestyle. 😂

But here's at least one enduring favorite: a deceptively simple far eastern gown and slippers, paired with a complicated arrangement of silver rings and a hydrangea hairpin. It's elegant and feminine, but not too showy to wear casually.

For X'khal, meanwhile: his gunbreaker gear. Durable, practical, and protective. He's had to do some patching, but this remains the gear he feels the most comfortable in.

🌦️ - in their favourite kind of weather

Raine: a sunny day, clear and balmy, especially in the morning when the air still holds the dawn's freshness and everything is full of promise.

X'khal: a thunderstorm, wind and lightning. He feels at home in the violence of it, his inner turmoils temporarily reflected in the world around him. Driving rain is even better if he doesn't have to be out in it, but he doesn't care that much for getting drenched if he doesn't have to.
