okay but like
aljur was so sweet
for context,
today Saturday, Oct 5, 2024 is when our school celebrated teacher's day (because on the actual day of teachers day, the munisipyo announced no school day)
so yeah, regular program stuff
and then we were in the room na, to go to eat
tapos i was one of those na huling kumain kasi nahihiya ako, only going to go get food when niyaya ako ni kei (we were sitting far away from each other kasi nasa kasuloksulokan siya ng maraming upuan and maraming tao so i felt it would be a hassle to sit there)
so i sat alone at the back of the room and quietly ate
and then aljur (who was sitting in front of me) turned around in his chair to face me
and then he asked me "masarap yung spaghetti?"
i nodded with a smile and a barely audible "mhm"
then he asked me again "lasang jollibee?" i didn't know if was a serious question or if not
but without a beat i shook my head and after a little realization, suppressed a grin. thinking about my forwardness
he then turned back to the front and we didn't speak anymore for while
until it appeared he came back holding a bottle of almost finished coke and sipping on it
then asked me "wala kang ganto?"
again i just shook my head innocently
and then he was like "wait lang"
(in my head i was like, omg is he gonna go get me a drink?? omg that's so sweet, but i'm not supposed to drink soft drinks)
i wasn't supposed to drink soft drinks but i didn't want to decline him because omg that's so sweet and cute and so gentlemanly and yes i want his attention, and yes i want to feel him giving me acts of service when i didn't even asked for it or even hinted. he just wanted to get me a drink, like- it's so cute that he even thought of me, or cared alright or not
ahem-
then proceeded to walk away and i watch him to go to the table and get me a bottle of coke
except he was searching for the bottles of coke and it looks like he couldn't find any because it seems their all out
i suddenly remember that there was only one bottle of coke left that i saw when i went to get food earlier but i didn't take it because like i said, i am not supposed to drink soft drinks (yeah i just didn't want to decline aljur)
and in my head i was like oh well i didn't want a coke anyway and expected him to just come back to me and apologize
but in my surprise, i see him talking to someone and then lo and behold he goes to get a plastic cup and he pours coke in it from sa kasalo bottle
and in my head i'm like oh my God oh my God oh my God, he actually went through the trouble oh my God
(and then our eyes met and i pretended that they didn't and that i wasn't looking at him and that i was preoccupied with something else like playing with my food or was too busy looking at something
speaking of food, the whole time he left i was just adjusting the spaghetti on my plate THE WHOLE TIME UNTIL AFTER, and i kept trying to clean my teeth with my tongue to make sure i didn't have anything on my teeth when i go to thank him
so then he walks to me and hands me my plastic cup of coke all naturally and nonchalantly
and i thanked him (except i think my voice might have been too quiet and he might not have heard me)
but i hope he knows that that small act of kindness really means so much to me
when i tell you i finished the cup, fuck yeah i did
even though i already started feeling a little sick halfway through the cup, i downed that bad boy
well.. i didn't down it, i sipped it. very demurely :)
