Alkaline Tide
Feel tired after eating? Blame it on your alkaline tide. In the process of producing HCl to digest all that good stuff you just ate, the body produces bicarbonate as a by product of the the reaction. This bicarbonate gets pumped into the blood stream, where the "alkaline tide" forms, making you drowsy. This is why larger meals have a more nap inducing effect, more HCl is required.
