“My Mau is a handsome older man still in his prime.”

It was originally planned to resemble a short katana sword, however the shape didn’t quite fit the Pokian aesthetic. While reading, I kept thinking about Damascus steel, the lost craft and infamous quality drew some parallels I felt I could exploit. I wanted Mau to be recognisable — not only as a Pokian sword but one crafted by Mahina herself. And I can confidently say Mau is dazzling; the carvings and the blade are just *mouahh*.

There’s no sheath bc I got lazy but you get a glimpse of it here when Hoku gets worked up over a cat (who wouldn’t huh?)

And yes, I love drawing Hoku in different outfits, you don’t get to be a Pokian and have bad fashion taste imo.
