Day #48: Awards Day
Today’s Dare: Trophy
Like cone-ing, trophying was supposedly invented by Alki Stevens. I have no clue if he really did invent it. All that matters is it is one of those crazy pranks that people do just to troll (aka fuck with) other people.
How you do it: You go through the drive thru, after they hand you your food, you hand them a trophy. It boosts the morale of McDonald’s workers who have arms full of fryer burns and a stern middle manager breathing down their necks. It’s encouraging! It’s motivating! It’s a great (temporary) distraction for high schoolers who get bored easily at work.
I’m going to do this again. I’d like to get some better video of it. I want to know exactly how he sets up his camera to get the shot he does. I also have about five more tiny plastic trophies in my car. Oh, and I really want to go get some REAL trophies (bowling, lawn dart, derby, long-distance running, whatevs) to give them. That would be even better. And more visible.
And I need to figure out how to edit these better. My camera was making a weird clicking noise throughout this video and there’s lots of extraneous footage of me looking self-conscious and my hand grabbing the camera at the end.
Note: I have just tried to upload the damn video twice, and it is not working. I'll try to re-do this one tomorrow and possibly film with my iPhone for easier posting.
Day #47: Cone-ing
Today's Dare: Cone
What's cone-ing?
Cone-ing is something that was invented to give planking a run for its money. If you believe everything on the internets, then cone-ing was invented by this British guy who decided that there must be more to life than planking, and set out to discover what those things might be.
Now, I have coned once, at a Burger King near where I live. But unfortunately the video got deleted by accident. Which is a terrible shame, because I didn't want to have to do it more than once. But the whole thing was sort of a mess, both literally and figuratively. My hand was covered in ice cream...and I didn't grab the cone quite like you're supposed to (I got nervous!)...and the video wasn't the best. I still don't have editing capabilities really. Unless I'm filming on my iPhone and can just cut the ends off if there's extraneous waiting time involved.
I'm going to eventually post a video of me actually doing this again, but you'll have to wait. In the meantime, watch this video of Justin Bieber cone-ing.
