         “So, I... heard rumors that you can see practically anything in the Ocular...” Odtsetseg began, her tone taking on an air of curiousness. Twas not as if au ra believed the Exarch intended to harm her nor companions at this point. No, if anything he proved to only have the best of intentions. Albeit, fumbling in his execution of matters and having terrible timing with some cases it was apparent that he cared deeply about people from this world plus her own. At minimum, he struck xaela as far more trustworthy than a certain ascian who opted to accompany them every so often. Despite this however, she assessed this might as well be said lest he unintentionally witness something unpleasant from keeping an eye on dancer. Expression softening into more of a meticulously understanding appearance, she then decided to get straight towards the point. 

         “While i certainly do not doubt your integrity, nor your ability to keep your focus on our goals, I do hope watching us has not taken up too much of your time. No offense, but there are some secrets of mine which I would like to keep hidden. Just as you wish to conceal yours. Additionally, I am sure you have more on your plate than to simply watch us manage our way towards success.” 

         Odtsetseg hoped at least he had not espied her conversing with a ghostly visitor in her chambers. Gods know that would be embarrassing to try and explain. She honestly would not blame him for labeling her as insane, if he did watch it.

[ sick day ] – for your muse to take care of mine while they’re sick

      “Aren’t you worried you’ll get ill…?”        Sickness is not something the blessing of light can protect her from. It’s one of the few things that makes her sulk, when she bothers to think on it– usually only when she’s already in its throes. Zheleti cares little for the symptoms she’s currently in the grip of, the weak-limbed fugue of fever and the aching rasp in her throat. She cares even less, however, for her inability to do much to stave any of it off on her own. It thus falls to others to help her, and though she is always more than willing to help others, she’s always had trouble seeking help for herself. Unfortunately, the Crystal Exarch was more than aware of this particular fault of hers.           Which meant he was more than ready, when she fell ill, to help her–                                –whether she wanted him to or not.           It might come off as ungrateful, she knows; after all, there are a million and one things he should be doing, but instead he’s here. Puttering around her room in the Pendants while she’s sat up and swaddled with her blankets, her tail and face the only things poking out of it. There is only a noncommittal hum in response, followed by the clatter of silverware as he turns with a tray in hand. He sets it down on the bed before her, moving her blankets to free her hands, placing a bowl of soup between them. Seeing the tremor in them, he pauses, frowns, and then leans forward as she looks up, the hand he’d intended to press to her forehead unnecessary as she leans it against his own.           Green and peach flicker up at him, half-lidded, tired, and she leans her head to the side, lips pursed.          “You don’t have to do all this, you know,” she murmurs at last, eyes then head dropping, fingers curling tighter around the bowl before she reaches for the spoon at last. “I’ll be fine in no time.”           “I would rather not leave your health to chance,” he says in reply, reaching to rearrange her blankets more reasonably, a faint hint of amusement in the curve of his lips. “…or to your rather legendary stubbornness.”           It takes her a moment to realize she’s being teased and when she does she has to shove the spoon into her mouth to keep from saying something patently unwise. The Exarch seems to take her silence as acquiescence and resumes his moving around, preparing what smells to her (even with her nose partly incapacitated) like something medicinal. There is silence between them while he works and she eats, and when she feels as if she can no longer eat any more, she sets the spoon down and reaches for the tea on the tray instead.            She doesn’t drink, instead letting the steam wafting from it reach her face, eyes closing briefly. When she opens them again, her eyes slide toward the window, purposely keeping her gaze from the Exarch.           But when she murmurs, softly:           “Thank you, Raha.”           She can still see, from the corner of her eye, the way his ears perk and his shoulders tense. She smiles into her tea, and pretends she’s not amused by how easy he makes it to tease him right back.

   “Ah, hello young one.” The ancient elder muse kindly with a small little wave from the bench he had perched. Oh, he knew this aura. The same soul that had been brought here by Hades not too long ago. 

“You wandering has brought you far, dear man. Why do you linger in this city of ghost? Does this place not harbor bad memories for you?” The spirit mused cocking his head curious at the man at his feet.

                ❝  —-  fate ?  ❞ that is a lofty word to toss about ; and yet it is the same one that comes up in causal conversation each time an individual manages to describe him. like the miqo’te were some dictation or manifestation of destiny or foretold chance. yet despite everything they cannot say they believe wholly in such a concept. intangible it is ; liable to flow and ebb —- they merely shake their head at the crystal exarch as their alabaster ears pivot downward. ❝  it isn’t so much my own fate i’d want to shift if i was given the chance to diverge its fleeting course. it seems that somehow it is always those who are closely tied to me that are mostly effected.  ❞  either by common negligence or some unfortunate happenstance. they needn’t look farther than g’raha or any of the other scions that had once been tangled in such a frayed net. they shake their head a little as a bout of laughter dies before it reaches their lips ; he worries, truly —- he does. as cold as lunae willowbane can be at times there is a sense of foreboding loss that haunts his dreams and vacant thoughts.               ❝  —-  and yet you’ve changed your fate with your own two hands, haven’t you ?  ❞ and then, they’d all managed to change g’raha tia’s in return. the effort and unison of individuals has displayed a previously impervious ability to bend the future. ❝  i never really thought i was long for this world, regardless,  ❞ given the condition of his birth alongside the blessing of light and darkness. yet there are others whom hold a similar role, and a familiar burden. meeting those like himself have imbued enough strength to take the necessary steps forward. many times, though —- he had wanted it to finally come to a conclusion. therefore, he was not at all sullen nor worried that death loomed in his soul as each sin eater ate away at his physical and spiritual being. because in hindsight ; his heart was already sundered. fortunately it was the conclusive efforts of many that had finally pulled the miqo’te from his volatile stupor. shaking his head those lilac eyes return to the dark sanguine of a close confidant. ❝  i’m alright with whatever my fate is, so long as it doesn’t cause harm to you.  ❞ or anyone else he’s come to care for.                physical pain is tolerable, a grievous loss is —- irreconcilable.

There was something about this time of year that made her feel… wistful. Perhaps it was because around this time, her name day was something that was fast approaching, and the occasion itself was not so much a cause for celebration as it was an event to mark the passage of time.

Another turn of the seasons. Another twelve moons that had passed since the time she had last seen him. How many had it been, now…? Did it truly matter how many? Regardless of the number, she always found herself drawn to two particular landmarks around this time- a particular headstone at Providence point near Ishgard, and…

The Crystal Tower.

“… Raha…? It’s me,” She whispers, painfully aware of the fact that it was most unlikely that he could hear her. “A lot happened again this turn of seasons, y’know…” She starts, settling herself in front of the doors to the gate. She places a hand against it’s cold, grandiose structure, resting her head against the crystalline material and allowing her eyes to flutter shut as she collects her thoughts… and while Etoile knows he’s asleep on the other side- somewhere in the depths of the tower- there are times where she like to imagine that he’s on just on the other side of the door, able to hear her, even despite his slumber.

She blinks the sting of tears away before managing to muster a smile upon her lips. There are so many stories to tell him now, and she doesn’t know where to start. But… she pauses, figuring that she may as well start from the beginning. And so, she does; she tells him of the war, tells him of the mighty foes she has battled, of the Ascians and of what she knows of the lies and plots they have spun. She tells him of the First, as well- how the headaches started, and how she eventually came to find herself on another world entirely.

And then she tells him… “I, ah… I met someone. He’s… hm. He’s a lot like you.”

“I s’ppose he’s… just like you. But different.”

I look at him an' it’s like I have you back.

But I know that he isn’t quite the you I knew… even if he has th’ same memories of th’ time I spent with you, he’s… not…

Suddenly, the wind sighs, and she can hear her brother’s voice being carried over upon it’s currents. The sky has turned dark, now, and the cadence of C’aedryn’s tone is stiff with worry. “Aah, I didn’t even notice s’gotten this late.” She sighs, pushing herself from the ground. “… I’ll… come back again, Raha. I never got t’ tell you then, but…”
