I just witnessed a fellow plus size woman being horrifically chastised for posting a picture of herself in a bra. She was doing what I do with my lingerie images which is promoting the sale of #plussizelingerie but she was receiving a lot of negativity for posting such a picture. It made me think. What is so wrong with an image like this. Is it improper? Lewd? Salacious? The answer is NO NO NO...NOT AT ALL! It is simply a woman, advertising an article of lingerie for sale. It wasn't an invitation or for clout or even for attention, it was for promotion of brand provided clothing. For many bloggers/vloggers/Influencers/content creators...these types of photos pay their bills. We shouldn't be chastising them for doing what every woman on a lingerie advert online or in print is doing. We are helping sell a product. The fact that we have to be showing more skin is no different to swimwear or even fitness wear really but there is such a stigma surrounding lingerie. If the images/poses are suggestive or overly sexualised then perhaps you could argue about the nature of the photo or whether those poses are necessary to help sell a garment but if the poster is simply showcasing it...then really this shouldn't be seen as a negative thing. We ALL wear underwear. Therefore we all must buy underwear...all underwear has a shelf life so therefore we should buy new underwear...in order for that to happen, brands need to advertise it. That's where we come in... So perhaps judge the poster a little less and take the photo for what it was intended. A sales pitch. It's just a body, guys...get over it! #lingerie #femalebody #allbodiesneedrepresentation #stretchies #thefemaleform #lingerieforeverybody #dtokcup #curvykate #brastopbabes https://www.instagram.com/p/CHdWJOUpTr7/?igshid=1ufxcux04qcki
