Another day in Florida. Another day she was expected to amuse herself while her husband did things for work. She couldn’t really blame him for his work ethic; it had been one of the things that had drawn her to him in the first place, but when he seemed to be picking up more and more responsibility and giving her less and less time or attention, things got very lonely. It hadn’t been her idea to drive cross-country to Florida, away from her network of friends who had become family. She had been fine flying to work every other week, but the decision was taken out of her hands because Jon didn’t feel comfortable in airports. Honestly, things had been on a decline between them for months now, interacting less and less. She decided that tonight she was going to go with him to the pay per view, because the alternative was drinking wine at home alone... again. At least there she might have some people to keep her company and talk to her, for a change.
Once she got to the venue, Jon took off to do whatever it was he actually needed to do to get ready for his match. She said hellos to Cody and Brandi, but they were both on-screen and producing, so they didn’t have much time. She couldn’t go out into the audience, because she couldn’t be caught on-camera, and most of the people she knew well enough to talk to were out there or in matches. Luckily for her, she spotted Kenny off to one side, and he usually made for good conversation. She tried to ignore the butterflies she got from the attention from her fellow Canadian as they struck up a conversation. Before she knew it, it was time for Jon’s match, and she regretfully said goodbye to him to wait in Jon’s locker room. But after the match, even though he’d won, all Jon was interested in was taking a shower and going to hang out with his friends, leaving her feeling dismissed once again. Instead of feeling hurt this time, she was angry. If he wanted to pretend like she didn’t exist, then she could do the same. She stalked out of the room, literally running into Kenny once more. “Oh! I didn’t see you. Obviously,” she said, laughing softly and pushing some hair back from her face almost nervously as his hands steadied her on her feet. “Um. Where are you off to?” she asked, a flirty smile on her face.
