In the ring or out, Kevin deals with losing in the same measured and reasonable way.
“ — another bonus was I was able to meet the one woman on planet fuckin’ Earth that could ever put up with me.”
Look at them! The smiles! They look so happy! 💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖💕

Tyson was many things, a showman, a gamer, a comedian, a romantic, a great wrestler. A liar though not so much, when he got together with Renee he felt his world just made a lot more sense. He was happier, he was in a better mood more often. He was just back to how he was in Japan, genuinely happy to be there. Though with his sudden happiness also came a lot of questions. With the questions, a lot of deductions and with the dirtsheets it was almost all but confirmed.
He had to come clean about his relationship with Renee. Luckily it had been months since their fling and her seperation with Mox. No one suspected that they were doing this when they were together. Granted they started this because he was distant and this was a one or two time thing before she made the big decision. Still, he was a bit relieved not for himself but for her well being. A lot of his life had become centered around her and he wouldn't have it other way. She was his rock, his happiness and he was showing it. He didn't want her to feel neglected while not overdoing it either. They were happy even if it did lead to a bunch of awkward talks to a seemingly okay Jon. Which makes it even harder when they had to work together for their big match. He had been avoiding the topic with Renee for a while. He knew that Tony wanted him to win the tournament. He didn't let Renee know but he knew she had an inkling that he was supposed to go over and face Jon.
So when the night came after Full Gear and he won, he was expecting her to bring it up. That night he was exhausted from his match, though satisfied with the outcome. Walking over and letting the guys know he was going back to the hotel room. He couldn't wait to see Renee, they had been staying in the rooms provided by Tony instead of their Air BnB due to the restrictions that seemed to be getting stricter. Not to mention it was close to the arena and comfortable. It was as if he was living in the hotel at this rate honestly. Walking around the back to his locker room from the showers. He was dressed in his normal clothes. Making his way back to the lounge where he knew Renee was and the other staff and couples. He knew she would be more comfortable there and she could also get an idea of their backstage. He knew she loved that stuff, even though he wasn't pushing her to work on it. He knew she had bigger dreams, "Heey! I am alive. Stevie didn't rip my head off." Tyson joked wrapping his arms around her. He kissed her a big kiss, a 'I missed you' kiss. it seems like everyone was off to another section. Which was good, he loved the privacy.
"Ready to go?"

There was a part of Tyson that was afraid that the flames would cool off. That this was just something that she felt because it wasn't supposed to be at the time. Sort of like things that are forbidden tend to be a turn on for some people. Luckily he didn't need to worry about that. It was clear throughout the months that their attraction had just gotten stronger. It was just much more meaningful when you knew the person you were with was all yours. That everyone else knew that, it seemed going official was what made that flame go wilder than it has before. He smiled kissing her back as the two made it to their rental. "I have? I think my body's just trying to get used to it again." He tried to use that excuse at least. "You know I've been out of the whole intense match scene for almost a year and a half. I'm sure once my body gets back into the groove it'll be fine. Trust me." He tried to reassure her squeezing her hand.
He knew there was a much more obvious reason though. He was getting old, his body wasn't as rugged as it used to be. He was prone to more injuries and he knew that. In the back of his mind he knew that, otherwise it wouldn't hurt this much to wrestle through this injury. He heard her encouraging words and smiled. She always knew how to make him feel better. He had a problem, a problem that would make his critics giggle if he admitted it to them. He was selfless, as much as people wanted to twist it that he was egotistical and selfish. He was selfless, he would always look out for the person in the ring with him rather than himself. Hearing her say that he deserved this made him feel a lot better about taking the opportunity.
Though then he got the dreaded talk he had been trying to avoid. "Always yours." Tyson teased before hearing her next words. This was different, he never had throughout his years in Japan someone that cared about his wellbeing. There was his parents, yes, his sister, yes but not a partner like Renee. It was touching, he loved it and he knew deep down that she was right but he knew that Tony was counting on him. "I know Renee.. and I'll try to talk to Tony about it but you know. Jon's scheduled to go to Japan. I know how grueling and difficult traveling is nowadays. I talked with Jon and he seemed.. okay." He told her trying to ease her worries. "Tony mentioned that maybe he'll see what he can do about having it in a few weeks but.. whatever he decides to do. I am not going to question it." He frowned a bit taking her hand. "I know I look like I am made out of glass but I'll be fine. Trust me, I am Canadian remember. We're made to withstand a maple tree falling on us." He tried joking a little, getting her to smile. He knew she was worried, hell he was worried too but for her.
She bit her lip, trying to believe what he was telling her. That this wasn’t anything serious. But she’d been with him long enough now that she knew it was more than that, even if he wanted to lie to himself about how serious it was. He did have a point, though, that you needed to work up to a challenge, get your conditioning and ring shape back. But he had been working, and working long matches when in his tag team. “I just... I worry about you. You take on too much sometimes. You don’t have to be responsible for everything, you know.”
She looked up at him, eyes searching his face as he talked. “He always seems okay. That’s part of his problem,” she said, shaking her head slightly. “He’ll be professional, but not gentle. I just... I wish you had some more time to prepare,” she said, running a finger down his arm. “I’m the one who lives with you. I know how sore you can get. I see all the marks from the cupping, the TENS machines, the acupuncture. Are you being honest with him about how you feel? They need you, and they need you functional, not with a numb arm.”
She laughed, shaking her head. “Babe, you don’t look like you’re made out of glass at all. Marble, maybe. Or a nice juicy steak,” she added, raising her eyebrows suggestively before throwing her arms around him. “I can’t help worrying about you. Especially going up against Jon. It’s been a few months, but that isn’t that long in the grand scheme of things. If he breaks your face... well.” She bit her lip again as they got comfortable inside, wondering how much she wanted to tell him today, how honest she wanted to be.

"Ready to go?"

Tyson couldn't help but smile at her words, he knew she meant it too. There was perks of dating an extrovert, for example it seemed she was an expert on breaking awkward boundaries. He was surprised it didn't take long for his friend group to accept her. He knew the bucks thought this was great for him. They weren't much of Jon's friends to begin with but they had their reservations about what problems it might cause. When it seemed like everything was alright, it made accepting Renee a lot easier. He held her close his hands on her waist and maybe one was trailing below her waist. He kissed her again, this time not really being able to resist her smile and her lips. "I got my gear with me already, I already ran out and congratulated the bucks. So Cody and Tony told me I should be good to just go." He muttered with a sigh. "Man I haven't felt this sore since Japan." He joked.
Taking her hand he held onto it tightly, proudly. He was never public about his relationships. It was always a mess when it didn't work out and there was always possibilities of people getting in your way. Renee was an exception though, he felt as if he genuinely wanted the world to know. That there was no way they could ever be torn apart. She was his end goal, he wanted everyone to know that. While he didn't necessarily show her off or anything he knew she loved this public display as well. "Thanks by the way. I knew I could do it with my biggest fan cheering me on." He teased. "It could of gone either way honestly too.. Stephen deserves it. You know how I feel about winning stuff like this." He said with a sigh. There was always a pang of guilt there because he was the EVP. He wanted to fade into the background because he felt he didn't deserve any spot. He opened the door of the rental for her before hopping into the driver's seat. The drive to the hotel wasn't too far, the hotel was nice. It had a small kitchen and a living room area. It was more of a one bedroom apartment than a hotel suite. "Though really thanks. It means a lot." He kissed her hand as he parked the car.
A laugh bubbled out as his hand slid lower than her hip, interrupted by their lips crashing into each other once more. The attraction between them hadn’t cooled off any since they had come out as a couple. In fact, the way his closest friends had accepted her into their midst loosened the last little bits of her that she’d been holding back. She smiled up at him, but it faded slightly as she took in the wince as he pulled away and took her hand. “Again? It seems like you’ve been more and more sore lately,” she said, brow furrowing slightly as they walked through the halls toward the parking lot. She squeezed his hand, nodding hello to a couple of the people as they passed. She knew how private he was with his personal life, how much he valued the whole separation of Kenny and Tyson, but he made an exception for her. The way he wasn’t afraid of publicly claiming her as his warmed her from the inside out.
“Of course I was cheering you on. I always will. Stand by your man,” she said, singing the last part. “I think it was the right call, babe. I know how you feel, wearing the two hats. But no one watching can really say you don’t deserve it. You haven’t really had a title shot since Dynamite started. You had another program with Jon, yeah, but that wasn’t about the title. Stephen was in the first ever title match, he has that little piece of history, but you have even more name value with everything you’ve done in Japan and you didn’t get that shot. It’s your time now,” she said as she got in the car. Thankfully, it was a short ride to where they were staying, just giving her enough time to think things through a little.
She smiled at him again as he kissed her hand before coming around to get the door for her. “My knight in shining armor,” she teased lightly. “Ty... I know you want to show everyone you haven’t missed a step since Tokyo Dome. But we both know you’ve been dealing with that bad neck and shoulder. Maybe.... maybe you need more time before taking that title shot. You could see if they can postpone the match to Revolution in February, After all, don’t you deserve to win on a pay per view?” she said, frowning slightly as they entered their suite. “I just... I don’t want to see you make it worse. You know that Jon works a little stiff sometimes. And with all this, I mean... what if he isn’t as okay with it as he seems?”
