Every polycule needs the:
- Lobotomized mech pilot recently unfrozen from a decades long nap
- Plucky mech pilot double agent for the resistance
- Sentient cloud of psychic dust
- Computer
DEAD NAME_PART 1
When you can't update your name in your mech mercenary interface. Then you're left with one option.
-augment robot ??-??? you have- [mute] -UGGH!! Allmind's notifications are still deadnaming me! -I thought we submitted the proper documents?
-WE DID! -That's it! We need to destroy Allmind. I'll get the team together
allmind :)
it is incredibly difficult to run away from the fanon interpretation of allmind, it just works too well. I still wanted to try my hand at adjusting small details to suit more of my personal taste.
also a bonus interaction between all mind and iguazu
I put the images first and now I can't put the text above it :( Anyway here's some cool armored core stuff I drew on sticky notes before I got a new apple pencil.
a lot of people take different messages away from armored core 6 but I think fundamentally it's about how the most powerful thing in the world is just having a really good time. a lot of the time I hear it's about the indomitable human spirit and that's not wrong but it is very specifically the human spirit enjoying itself.
freud is the obvious example because he's totally unaugmented and yet he has a near-100% success rate because he loves his AC that much. snail keeps trying to catch up but he can't because the problem is that he's trying to catch up. snail is trying to be freud and it'll never work. freud isn't trying to be anything, really. he's the best pilot because he doesn't have to be anything.
michigan is less obvious but I think he counts too. he might not be as into the mech combat side of things but he loves fighting with his men. the whole mission where you fight him gives him like 50 guys as backup because he's at his best when he has someone to talk to. his whole build is designed around missile support for those 50 guys, to the point that I think it's the only AC in the entire game to use the deployable shield.
iguazu is a pathetic little shit who barely puts up a fight in almost every encounter. even when he fuses with allmind he's not that tough until his last phase. because his last phase forces him to use a build he actually likes, and not the one he feels like he has to. head bringer is the trainer ac with a few parts swapped out. he constantly plays defensive because he's afraid to try anything else. the SOL 644 forces him to go in and hit you hard and once he gets allmind to fuck off, he loves it. he sounds less pissed off and more just happy he can fight you for real.
SOL 644 is also a really interesting point because three different characters use the same mech and it plays differently for each of them. ayre's variant is shielded in phase 1 and fast as fuck in phase 2, allmind has a ton of lasers and mostly focuses on charged beam attacks, and iguazu swaps the sword out for claws that reach halfway across the arena. ayre and allmind might have had time to reconfigure it to their liking before the fight but iguazu definitely didn't, which kinda implies the SOL 644 changes in response to its pilot? it doesn't even have space for a physical person inside, you have to upload your brain directly into it. it'll be whatever you want and whatever you're good at.
and then there's you. the player. remember balteus? remember when balteus kicked your ass so hard you learned how to be good at the game? remember when enforcer did it again?
if you make it to allmind, you can beat allmind. you're having a good enough time to beat allmind. some builds are better for some missions but you can beat most of them with anything as long as you're good enough at it and know your AC well enough. and you will either get good enough at it, or realize you'd like it more with something different. armored core 6 is a game about loving what you do. if you can do that, nothing can stop you.
