Milk, Eggs, Severe Weather

Frozen french fries…frozen pizza…frozen popsicles…Duncan scrolled down the frozen aisle which was his favorite but his diet prevented him from enjoying any of it. He slumped over his shopping cart, barely full with anything other than protein bars and chocolate milk. With a sigh, he kicked the cart a little and turned down the next aisle. Grocery shopping ranked very low on his list of enjoyable activities.

As he reached for a box of granola, the dulling roar of a tornado siren started up. He looked up slowly, unenthused. The wailing grew louder and store clerks and cashiers were herding customers into the back room until they got the all clear. Duncan looked to the figure beside him in the aisle.

“Fucking wonderful.”
