Disney Value Resorts

I have stayed in all of the All-Star Resorts (Music, Movies, Sports) and Pop Century. I like them all to an extent with All Star Movies being my least favorite and Pop Century being my favorite. In order I would rank them from best liked to least liked: 1. Pop Century 2. All Star Sports 3. All Star Music 4. All Star Music 1.) Pop Century I have stayed at Pop Century twice and both visits were wonderful! This is actually my favorite resort to stay on in Disney property as a whole. My first time staying was in May of 2012 as a Girls-Only trip for my sister’s 13th birthday as her present from me (yes I know, greatest big sister ever J ). It was myself, my sister (13), my mother (late 40’s) and my grandmother (mid 70s). This resort was a big hit with everyone as it had something to offer us all with a touch on all different generations. When we checked in online and were able to pick our two special requests I had asked for a ground floor and close to transportation since my grandmother had knee surgery a few months before. When we arrived at about 10:00 am our room was readily available for us to use right away. We were given a ground floor overlooking the water and it really wasn’t that far away from the bus stop. My second visit here was September 2013 for my son’s 5th birthday present ( I know, I know, you want to join my family so I will take you for your birthday too!.. its fine the more the merrier and any excuse to go to Disney is just fine with me J ) The second time we stayed here, our room was ready upon check in yet again and the process was super fast. We stayed during the trial period for the Magic Bands and that was our room key, it was so easy to use we loved the Magic Bands! Again, during my check in process online weeks beforehand I had asked for ground floor, close to transportation as my special request. We weren’t given a ground floor but we were super close to the bus stop I would take the second floor to be this close anytime! It was great at the end of the night that as soon as we got off the bus we had less than a 5 minute walk to our building and then just took the elevator up to the second floor, it was awesome! The food court is fun here, the store is great and I just love the whole atmosphere. The transportation for me is the best feature. Pop century does not share a bus with any other resort so it is strictly to and from pop to your destination and vise versa. I find this to be the closest is distance to all of the parks amongst the Value resorts. Epcot and Hollywood Studios are the closest at about only a 5-10 minute ride, then Animal Kingdom about 9-12 minutes and Magic Kingdom is farthest away but still only about a 12-15 minute ride depending on traffic and what not. All Star Sports I enjoyed my stay here the most of the three All Star Resorts. I liked this one the most because of the transportation. This is the first bus stop of the three All Stars and we never seemed to have to stop at the other two (music and movies) to pick up guests, and on the way home it is the first one to get dropped off so you do not have to wait that long to get to your resort. I always ask for ground floor and close to transportation for my special request upon checking in online and we were not too far from transportation and the main building where the food court is. I also liked the pool here the best of all three All Stars, nothing extravagant but it was nice to lounge by with the palm trees and giant surfboards around. At the time I stayed here the food court use to have this Alfredo chicken and pasta dish that came with a bread stick that was just so delicious and was so bummed to see that they no longer carry it when I was in Disney in 2013. The closest park for transportation was Animal Kingdom at less than a 5 minute ride; everything else seemed like forever to get to. 3.) All Star Music This was my first Disney resort staying at as an adult. I had nothing else to compare it to when staying here, so I greatly enjoyed my stay. The pool was fun, the buildings were bright and colorful, the food court was good, I like the store here. The transportation was not awful but it is in the middle of two of the other All Star resorts so you have one stop before you and one stop after you so that will add on to your travel time. I always tend to travel in September which is value season and school is in session, which means… little to no lines!! . My room was clean, I had a king sized bed which was comfortable. Concierge was always helpful with any questions I had, since it was my first time there as an adult I didn’t know as much as I know now. We were close to transportation and also on the ground floor. 4.) All Star Movies I enjoyed All Star Movies the least of any Disney Resort I have been to as of yet. Transportation was awful and we waited for long amounts of time for busses to come. My room was gross and dirty with snots on the bathroom wall. I payed extra money for a preferred room and was further away then I could have imagined possible. There were two beds in the room which were double beds and we each had to sleep in our own bed for enough room because they were so small for two people to share. Concierge was rude and not helpful during my stay. This was just an awful trip and it started the moment I arrived to All Star Movies resort. The only thing going for this resort is the theme of the buildings which I thought were cute. That is it though. Never again will I stay here nor recommend this resort to anyone I know. This is my personal opinion and preference and I have heard of some people who enjoy this resort, but sadly I am not amongst that group.
