In truth, very little had changed about Aendras's life here. Only that he was even more miserable than he had been before. Losing feeling in his arm had been problematic enough before. Even when he had thought it was due to a car accident. Now he remembered the truth. That it was all down to that curse, and when it was broken he had just been the unlucky one. Or perhaps he was just still cursed, he wasn't all that sure.
Still, even with his memories back, he tended to stay inside his home. It was easier that way. Crowds made things complicated, people made things complicated. And he never wanted to explain that he was nursing not only a broken body in his eyes, but also a broken heart. Not that he could tell anyone that, it had all been too complicated. Falling in love with the wrong person... or the right person but completely the wrong time. There was nothing left for him with Declan, he might as well just stay inside.
Which at least was a good plan until he heard someone at the door. Usually he'd ignore it, but the weather outside had been so horrendous, he felt it would be cruel to leave someone out there. Least until he opened the door, fake smile in place and saw. Declan. Of all the people he wanted to see again, he was somehow top and bottom of the list. Top because the other man would always have his heart, have his everything, but bottom because he couldn't handle the rejection he knew as coming.
@allthatglxtters for Declan
