Hey, I just experienced someone telling me that my sexuality was "just a phase" for the first time and it hurt more than I thought it would... any suggestions?
Hey allthewinglessangels,I am so sorry that, that happened to you. It’s unfair that you had to experience that and no one deserves to be told that their sexuality is just a phase. Your sexuality is not just a phase. You are who you are and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. The one thing I can suggest is to push forward and continue being who you are. There will always be people who will judge you on any aspect of yourself. But the only thing to do is just do you. It will hurt, but you can always just reassure them that, no, in fact you do know your own sexuality and that this is not just a phase. -Dean
