Everyone is always shocked when i show up to venues looking like this. They be like “YOU’RE Dr. Baoll?” I could wear name brand suits and shoes to “look” like I have a phD to fit the part. Or whatever that means. However... I’m a blue collar working woman WITH a phD. What I have to share with an audience isn’t validated by what I’m wearing. What’s of value is how I make an attempt to connect with all types of people from all types of places and lifestyles... and the fact that I know what I’m talking about. I’m degreed, certified and licensed in a lot of areas... and the most valuable thing about me is that I have tangible and applicable experience. That being said... I will show up to keynote speaker at your event or teach your class looking like what I AM. I will most likely have in all three of my facial piercings and roll up my sleeves... if I don’t already have on a t-shirt. I only refer to myself by title when respect is denied to me in the scholarship and academic worlds because you THOUGHT I lacked the paperwork to accompany my introduction. You THOUGHT I don’t “look” like my credentials. That I don’t present like a scholar or licensed professional. That way of thinking is rooted in what called CLASSISM... and it’s lame. My name is Dr. Baoll, commonly known as OG Beretta Scott King. Put some respek on it. 🕊 #alltreeayall https://www.instagram.com/p/B4DVFsZFZFh/?igshid=1isjbv63gwiao
