I am currently flying to Scotland right now with @brizzyvoices and I AM SO EXCITED. I can’t wait to explore the place that inspired the magical world of Harry Potter! Thanks again @visitscotland for the trip of my dreams! #ScotLife #ScotSpirit #Allwaswell #LUMOS ✨✨✨
oh dear Harry.
Harry Potter and Deathly Hollows. 1st September 2017 marks the real-time events of the epilogue 'Nineteen Years Later. ' #hp #allwaswell
If I were to be any character in the Harry Potter series, I would like to be Luna.
Luna would have kept her sense of wonder after the Battle of Hogwarts. Of course she would be grieving like everyone else, but I like to think that she wouldn’t hide from her grief. If she felt sad, I like to think that she made herself a cup of tea and just let herself feel. And if she needed to cry, she would have done that too. If she thought of all the loses in the war, all the schoolmates who were gone, she would have mourned, but not while wearing black. She would wear yellow, red, green, blue, to honor all the fallen souls. And when Ginny cried in her arms about Fred, Luna would hold her and start talking about all the pranks that her brothers did, how Fred and George had teased her gently but told off others for being mean because they knew what it was to be “odd”.
And when Luna woke from dreams of fighting and death that even she wasn’t exempt from, I like to think she would crawl from bed and paint. She would paint Professor Lupin and his wife with their blue haired son she never met. She would paint Lavender mid-laugh, she would paint Colin Creevy grinning with his camera, Fred with a crown made of fireworks, and Snape. She painted Snape with light in his eyes even though he had been so terribly cruel to her and her friends, but she painted him happy because, despite it all, she wished he had found some happiness wherever he had gone, because Luna didn’t have any hate in her heart. Luna had nightmares, bouts of sadness like everyone else, but she didn’t hide from it because even so much had been lost, so much love remained. Yes people were gone, but they were remembered fondly. So she looked for love and found it: Little Teddy’s blue hair and smiling face when she visited GInny and Harry, how Ron and Hermione were helping each other through a hard time, Gin and Harry loving each other fiercely (finally), and the Scamander boy she met a few years later while searching for another creature that most deemed not to exist. She found love in gentle arms, in her two boys running in a field of wildflowers, in the joy she saw in her father’s eyes as he played with the twins. She found love in everyone, because love was something that everyone had in common. And it was because of love that Luna Lovegood wouldn’t lose her sense of wonder. Because you live and grow and move on, but you never forget those lost.
I think we could all gain to be a bit like Luna.
Harry Potter was (and still is, to some extent) an important part of my growth.
