He couldn’t help laughing at the thought, already shaking his head at her. “Are you drunk?” Addison was funny more often than not, and definitely inquisitive, but when she said things like this it was easy to assume there was something else at play. Of course it was possible she’d just had a good day or that she was happy to see him, but it was hard to imagine she’d thought up something like that with an entirely clear mind.
He could have easily dismissed the idea altogether, but he didn’t want to. It made him happy. Happy because she loved him. Happy because he seemed to make her happy somehow. And when he thought about it, it was incredible. He’d always known her falling for him was pure luck, but even more so when he considered all the other people she could have chosen instead.
“I’ve always known it was incredible,” he reminded. “In case you haven’t noticed, you’re kinda out of my league. Says a lot about your judgement if you think about it.” But even as he spoke his arms were winding around her waist so that he could pull her closer and press a soft, meaningful kiss to her lips. When he pulled back his eyes searched her face, his expression softening as he studied her. “I love you too,” he murmured quietly.
Life had a funny way, Addison thought. She had to go through hell and back to find Alex, someone she thought she could never fall for when she had met him. But he had proven her wrong and now here they were, confessing their love to each other. Truth be told: She hadn´t thought she´d be able to fall this hard for anyone after losing Derek and Mark. Surely, they had both turned out to be assholes, but that didn´t mean that Addison hadn´t loved them and that they both hadn´t been big parts of her life.
Now, with Alex by her side, however, she managed to be civilized around them, yeah even called them her friends. At least Mark. And she managed to be alright around Derek, because Alex was Meredith´s best friend and Addison did care for the other woman, probably even more than she cared for Derek at this point.
Her lips curved into a smile as she swatted at his shoulder, but let him pull her close anyways. “I am not drunk, not yet anyways.” Addison then chuckled, leaning into him. “Now...are we going to go out to eat? Because we STILL have no kitchen in this place,” She glanced around, chuckling. “And I`m kind of hungry,”
