With how much 2000s internet/web nostalgia Smiling friends references in their episodes, I thought it might be fun to pay a homage to the 2009-era of anime opening parodies! I remember the Higurashi, Naruto, and Death Note openings were especially pretty popular for other media parodies! As a 14 year old in 2009, I remember always thinking it would be a lot of fun to make one, but I didn't have the drawing ability or know-how to make one back then.

Since Smiling Friends is still just starting off the third season (at the time of posting this) I figured why not give it a try now? So I did! It was fun and nostalgic! (Plus it gave me an excuse to practice a little animating again lol) My teenager self would be so proud of me for finally getting around to making my own silly "cartoon-as-anime" parody LMAO. So I think this part is summed up by what I told my friend earlier, which is

"Donnie has something to work towards (Saving Mikey), and generally soaks things he is taught up like a sponge. Heishi, on the other hand, is growing to hate their mission more and more. Despite his desperation to make his father proud, he doesn't think he is good enough to learn anything he is being taught, and he also sorta... doesn't he really want to be.

He doesn't want some glorious destiny; he wants his dad. :(((("

Also here is something I didn't want to scrap, but also didn't know how to add into the final part? So have a sketch of what Draxum told Donnie after they were first "rescued"!!
