There's this italian verb "almanaccare" which means asking yourself questions without being able to find answers and idk I find it perfect, my new fav word
Almanaccare
neverparted:
❝ As much as you want, cara mia. ❞
He was careful not to place any form of RESTRICTION on his new bride. They were supposed to be happy, even though their wedding night was interrupted by news about his sister’s sudden ‘accident’. He’d been concerned, of course, for he knew that Lucille was close to giving birth. But he was careful not to be too concerned, unless Enola figured out that his care for his sister and the baby was MORE than that of a younger brother.
With the furor surrounding that little issue aside, it seemed that he was faced with another one.
❝ You are aware of the delights in having a sister, as do I. But should you wish for more, I shall not OBJECT. ❞
Thomas knew that he was supposed to act nonchalant, but the idea of having a child made him smile. With his arm around her shoulders, he pulled her closer, kissing her on the side of her head.
Her cheeks flushed pink and her gaze fell away, though her smile belied her delight. “Have a care, Mr. Sharpe, if it were left up to me we’d have ten or twelve. Italians enjoy a large family and I always did wish I had more sisters.” Her smile faded then, but only by a small measure. “I’m sure you’ll want to name our first daughter for your mother, but I do think Francesca is such a handsome name for a young girl, don’t you?” Blue eyes shifted to meet his, hopeful of a happy answer. It would be such a nice gesture to name their first daughter after her dear sister. “We could name our first son Thomas-- if Lucille doesn’t take the name. Or even then, really. It might be confusing to have three Thomases, but I don’t think I’d mind. It would keep life interesting. Oh, they could grow up as siblings if they’re close enough in age! I’ve no doubt they will be. My sister was pregnant in her first year of marriage, and my mother in her second.”
His wife’s features were illuminated by her happiness; the very thought of starting their family had banished every darkness from Enola’s thoughts. Surely Lucille would warm to her once they were both mothers. Having something in common to unite them would thaw any negative feelings there. “Although, I did have a cousin named Giovanni. It’s such a noble name, though he died very young of a fever. Or are you set on English names? I do like Margaret for a girl.”
name change
i felt i needed a name change. break some ties.
the old tumblr name (sonhador=dreamer) was portuguese or something. i kinda stole it from a friend. however it wasnt personal at all.
the new name means "daydream" or "to build castles in the air" in italian. I wanted something in Italian because i plan on going to Italy this fall. Sognatore and sogno were both taken, but "almanaccare" wasnt. I like it better, because of its translation. It produces better imagery in my opinion (and I need to expand my italian vocabulary)
on a side note, i apologise i haven't been updating as much, I'll get on that soon.
