“ whoa , that's it ? ––– i come all the way over here , and you're trying to slam the door in my face like that ? ”
@almedas | Isaiah + Lara
Lara’s knuckles grazed the door quietly, almost not wanting Isaiah to hear the knock at the door. For the first time all week, her stomach churning wasn’t from feeling sick rather because she was actually nervous for once. She was about two-weeks late and what she clearly thought was the flu, wasn’t. Lara was very successful for her age and she worked her ass off to get to where she was. For a while, she had really thought she had it all with a casual hook up with Isaiah. She could still focus on work without compromising her career, but now that seemed to hang by a string as she gathered the courage to knock a little louder. As the door open, she crossed her legs, balancing her weight between her two heels. “Hey,” she said with a small smile, “Can we talk?” Not the usual words that fell from her mouth when she came over to his place, but she couldn’t avoid this any longer.
for @almedas
clara had always loved a party. any excuse to get dressed up, drink her weight in booze and dance all night would only ever be a good thing in her book. at least, that’s what she’d always assumed; her opinion changing a little in recent months. since the break down of her relationship, partying wasn’t quite as fun anymore. isaiah was more than a boyfriend...he was her best friend, her confidant, her ride or die and drinking buddy. every event she’d attended since their break up had paled in comparison, and what made it even worse is that she had nobody else to talk to about it. nobody understood her, or her quirks and oddities like he did and although she’d attempted to open up, more often than not she’d been met with raised and furrowed brows at her approach. so she’d just given up. now stood in the corner of the room at a friend’s birthday party, she’s so far out of her comfort zone it’s bizarre. she was usually the one in the middle of the room dancing the night away, but not anymore. a collection of good memories hit her out of nowhere, and she moves from her hiding place to grab another drink, desperately needing it now. she can’t say she’s entirely focused on where she’s going, until she’s stood in front of him of all people. “oh...” like a deer in the headlights, she takes a look around them; as if searching for a place to run, a way to dismiss this situation. she comes up empty. “...how -- i didn’t expect to see you here.”
