Going back in time with OG Fynta to her SIS days in The Art of Being Invisible.

Theron’s head ached with the mind-numbing pain that only short-circuited implants could produce. He knew that he’d been added to the auction block, but so far no hints on when he’d be bought or for how much. Not even his reckoning of the number of days he’d been held in the total darkness of his cell was reliable without his internal chrono. Theron’s one, saving grace was that they didn’t know who he was. Pretty, is was the slave trader had said. Would fetch a good price. If Theron was patient— 

“He’s in here?” The woman’s voice was warm and husky. It reminded Theron of cheap nights and expensive whiskey. 

Footsteps halted outside Theron’s cell. He tried to push himself upright, but his limbs had gone numb from being shackled for too long. He still recognized her, even after two years.  

Theron scrounge up a smile through the cocktail of sedatives he'd been dosed with when the door opened. Fynta looked wrong without the tattoo encircling her right eye. “Hey beautiful,” he slurred. “You here to rescue me?”

The relief that Theron had just begun to feel washed away with the rueful chuckle that left the woman’s lips. “You boys have any idea what you’ve got here?” The man next to Fynta, the one whose nose Theron had broken during his capture, grunted. It was almost back to its normal size, meaning Theron’s count was off by a few days.

Folding her arms, Fynta affected the wide stance of a regular street thug. “Forget the pleasure barge. We’ve got us a genuine SIS agent.”
