I miss my old bandmates. Listening to intro part of this song now, in a quiet time after midnight, I just realised today, why those days, it seemed so hard to replicate the vibes from the original version. The rhythm, the beats, syncopations, rests. It was very hard at that time. I remember I had to play this song with certain bassist to get it played right. When I played with other combination (team), we always missed the vibes. Yes, it’s all about prayer, as the elders used to say. To me, personally, now I know I need a longer explanation for that prayer thing to get that advice. Music is a soul conversation. So what will you do to connecting souls that play together?
Now, I can see that in the past, I got chances to learn about being soulful and harmony, crashed here and there about teamworks, where almost everything learned by ears, with various skills (from the smartest to the one that very hard to learn). Here, in this town, from over a year ago, I got chances to play in quite ideal situations. Acoustic piano, better arrangement and how-to-play methods. I still remember how it feels, each time I got my turn to play that piano, from a brand that I thought I would never play it. Still, when I remember this, it’s just miraculous to me. Then, stumbled upon Inoue Akira’s band and arrangements for Fukuyama Masaharu, that’s another new perspectives I learned. I am very grateful and so thankful for everything He’s done in my life.
I don’t know about tomorrow. Now this period of living in this town is approaching to an end. I miss my old bandmates. No. I know there’s a better plan than I have in my head know. God knows how I feel about the melodies.

It’s the talent that brings someone to the top, but it’s the character which made a man stays on the top.
I just listened to this words again tonight, a comment for a senior gospel singer who held her first solo concert. Maybe I’ve heard it somewhere else long time ago. I just remembered this singer also came from the same era as Fukuyama Masaharu. (She’s a bit younger tho.) Hmm.. I just realised, Fukuyama Masaharu isn’t just about talents.
