Hi! I’ve gathered that you love Margaret Atwood and I want to reading some of her work as I very much admire her. She has written so many books and I don’t know what to start with, so I was wondering if you had any suggestions x
Hi, I’m so pleased that you would think to ask me for my recommendation. I think Atwood’s most famous work and the best one to start with is The Handmaid’s Tale. It is a stand-alone novel and was recently adapted into a popular television series which makes it very accessible.
I would also recommend her poetry collection, Eating Fire, and Oryx and Crake, one of my favourite novels of hers. It is part of a trilogy but also works on its own. She also has a series of lectures published, On Writers and Writing, that might be worth a read if you have the time. :–)
I am way behind on a lot of my uni work, and I have two ten page essay deadlines coming up in a few weeks, so I really need to get back to studying
Went to an art museum today after presenting my thesis
Economics lecture, my favourite autumnal academia shorts, the prettiest building on my way to class and some pumpkin spice
Autumnal readings
Writing an essay on a still undecided topic centring around 19th century Ottoman Empire is a fun challenge because I know next to nothing about that area of history and I need to do a lot more reading than I would if I was reading about European history, because I have been learning about that my whole life whereas this is a completely new territory.
