Ohhhh so while Alogar is with Sir Julien Occtis has been effectively pretending to be him/her son while with Thaisha as a cover.

Embarrassed it took me this long to make that connection.

You know how when they are looking dor Alogar Thaisha casts locate object on the piercing in his ear?

What if, when they are looming for him again, or think he is close, she gets a ping, but when she finds it, she doesn't find her son, but she finds his ear?

I don't know if I'll end up writing fanfic for CR4, even though everything about Thaisha does compel me, but I think if I do a trait I'd love to project onto orcish society in Araman from my own culture is the tendency to talk about children you're in community with as 'Ours'.

Obviously this is a thing in multiple cultures and also not a hard and fast rule that applies to everyone in cultures where it is present but growing up my Aunts and Uncles (both those related and not related to my parents) often referred to me as our daughter, or our My Name.

One of my paternal aunts often just outright referred to me as her daughter specifically but that was something of an outlier. Usually 'my' daughter/son/child was reserved for my parents and everyone else who was close to my parents referred to me as 'ours' or as the actual relation I had to them.

I'm also going to project onto the Araman orcs the tendency to just pick a person from the family and refer to them all as the Names. Crucially this can't be the last/family Name, it has to be the First Name of the person and it can be anyone- one of the parents, the eldest child, the youngest child, the child you are in contact with the most or who has most recently come up in conversations. Just 'When was the last time we heard from the Alogars?' 'When are the Heros coming over?' 'When did the Shadias say they'd be here?'
