So this, like nearly all of my pieces, started out as just a sketch based on the painting 'Ivan the Terrible and His Son' by Ilya Repin. But I realised how symbolic this could be for Thaisha- the horror, the guilt, the grief she feels over such a harrowing moment. Naturally if anything happens to your child, even if you didn't cause it, even if you fixed it, it still weighs heavy on your soul.

Unlike in 'Ivan the Terrible and his Son', I wanted this piece to be incredibly bright and vibrant- under the ginkgo tree, surrounded by the nature Thaisha loves and has dedicated so much to, the scenery completely contrasts the horror of the moment.

It was very fun to do, and took me 12 hours and 33 minutes to finish split over five days.

Help @captainecto and I cover sudden unexpected household costs!!

The month of April has been one set of bad news after another. From 9k in home repairs last Summer still currently being paid off, to news of 16k+ in new home repair costs and now an unusable unsafe vehicle costing another 14k+ to replace. The costs of day to day expenses being bad enough, with the sudden snowball of necessary expenses, its become aggressively obvious that this will be completely unaffordable moving forward but unavoidable. With several loans being paid off monthly taking entire paychecks to pay, and the stress and physical toll this has been putting Dan through, we need a little extra help to make it by.

So I'm offering Terrarium YCHs for $30! You can choose from one of three terrarium designs as well as one of three poses to mix and match! If you want a custom pose you can get that for an extra $10 for a total of $40. If you want your YCH to be printed as a sticker and sent to you, you can get that for an extra $5.

Dan is also offering emergency commissions on his page! With a goal of $5,000 to help handle a large chunk of the loan from last Summer, its a much needed start to handling everything else at once. We will greatly appreciate any help!
