I’ve spent so much time focused on neuroscience and neurology, and gathered so many reasons to love it, that sometimes I forget, just to remember, that what first got me interested was my own seizure and subsequent (Related? Unrelated? Related to my strep infection?) 18-month tic disorder experience.

The past few days have been rainy and nice. I’m not studying much today since I got work done at school, so I’m just going over a few things for thirty minutes, then relaxing. ✨

Ayy I genuinely thought my GPA was in the dumpster and I had to face the facts and reroute my life and give up on medicine,,,but apparently, excess credits means that some of my credits from second sem don’t touch my GPA, so second sem, I have a 4.0

My GPA is still battered and bruised but it’s not dead yet!!!! it is salvageable, i think!!!!

and now, if I so choose to drop my minor, i can take 4 classes for 3 of the 6 remaining sem instead of 5 and still graduate

I think that maybe one of the reasons uni feels so different from high school is that I felt that I had some personal interaction with how my school taught, or had insider info and knew they cared about us—because I’d go to and got invited to attend speeches, seminars, and discussions over lunch about our school. Like, I volunteered with an event about neuroscience and psych research and its applications to learning and teaching, and got to attend most of the seminars and talks. Or, I was invited to meet a Finnish teacher over lunch to see if we could learn from them.

I expressed an interest in it, and some teachers noticed that, and helped facilitate my involvement. Now, grading/marking, is so rigid and we have so little opportunity for critical feedback.

How late do other undergrad studyblrs stay up studying/doing homework?

At least twice a week, my friends and I go to the library around 7pm and stay until 1-3AM doing homework. The bottom 3 (of 14) floors of our campus’ main library is open 24/7 during the school year. I have 9 and 10AM classes this sem.
