She sounds tired.
“In all fairness I didn’t have much success with the ‘adventuring’ either. But it’s a long story and it can wait a bit. How are you holding up, my friend? I’ve missed you.”

She nods and flexes her fingers. She can feel her own magic.
“A testament to living through hell, I suppose.”
She brushes a stray strand of his hair, long grown back from being burnt by dragon fire. As lovely as ever.
Sypha is sitting in the lap of a shirtless tiefling bard, while Trevor bride style carries them both down stairs into an abyss.

She smiles, pleased.
"Wonderful! We've been back and forth a little on how we want to name the baby, because we wanted to... honor people important to us, you know? But, I think we'll let those be the middle name. Give the baby an original first name, that no one in the families have had yet. We were thinking... Sonia. Sonia Lisa Belmont. Still working on one for a boy."
She shakes her head.
"There's been enough of pushing grand expectations onto children for a while."

It’s been a few weeks since they’ve seen each other. He’s been gone, helping Raquel tie up some loose end with a Colossus (she’s still waiting for the full story there) while waiting for the Vistani to vacate Constant. She debated with herself about going after them, but even without Alucard’s insistence she had known that would be silly and unnecessary.
He’s been home for a few hours, settling back in. She hadn’t wanted to drop it on him as soon as he walked through the castle doors. But now that they were all climbing into bed together and it finally seems like the right time, she can’t help the tightness in her throat that’s choking her voice.
“Trevor-” she starts, but the hesitation in her voice dissatisfies her, and she tries again. “Trevor, before we go to bed, I... I have something I need to tell you about.”

The information sinks in slowly. She hears him speak, almost nonchalant, like he’s talking about the weather. His expression is all that alludes to it being a less than trivial matter. Her mouth falls into a soft ‘o,’ and her eyes are as wide as saucers.
“I’m- I’m what-?”

“Hey, Arikado? Do you think that ... maybe I’ll one day get Dracula’s memories?”
Soma hadn’t quite thought of this until now. Back at school, the only course that even spoke about souls was philosophy, and he never really cared for the subject. Briefly, he wondered if maybe, just maybe, he should’ve opted for that elective when it was offered. It would’ve been terribly ironic if it had prepared him for all the souls he’d absorb at the castle.
“I mean, I have his soul. Shouldn’t his memories be squirreled away somewhere?”

She takes his arm and lets him lead her up winding staircases and long, prestigious hallways. There are still marked signs of the siege, but the castle has marked improvement since the last time she saw it at leisure, several months ago.
It feels like it’s been ages, though it really wasn’t all that long ago.
“I might be inclined to defend him, since he’s not here to defend himself. However, since the bed downstairs is still glowing in every color of the rainbow...”
