i watched the force awakens for the first time exactly five years ago. thought it would be fitting to do a tribute to the two years i spent in post-tfa hell with the angry trash general.

prepare for sentimentality below the cut

tfa was what got me into star wars for real and today it is hands down my favourite fictional universe. and i don’t think i would have fallen so deeply into the space rabbit hole if it hadn’t been for kylux, the trash ship that managed to surpass everyone’s expectations.

so this is also an ode to the kylux fandom, whose creativity was absolutely mind-blowing in the years after tfa. i wasn’t confident in my ability to draw people at the time, so this is my very belated contribution to the fandom. i still can’t believe what we managed to do with hux, a side character with almost no backstory at the time. what i do know is that i became deeply attached to the character we created very very quickly.

so here he is as i always imagined him: composed, over-worked, bathed in the soft light of the galaxy.

If the sky wasn’t blue which colour would you like it to be? Oh, PINK.

Where do you see yourself in a zombie apocalypse setting? I would aquire as many meelee weapons as possible, because guns run out of bullets and honestly I'm not sure I would be able to use one at all. I would be extremely paranoid, proably not being able to sleep. I'd like to think that I'd survive for a long time, but honestly I don't know. I'm sure there are people more fit than me that would survive much longer. It also depends on the zambies, I guess?

If you could achieve a skill this instantly, what would it be? I don't know. If it were things like art skills or music skills, I would just feel like I've cheated and not really worked for it. So if I could, I would probably ask for some kind og superpower. Counts as a skill, right? Like being able to fly, or being really agile, like jumping around on fucking roof tops. I'd like to say teleportation, but then I'd just get fat as fuck.

Do you have any dreams for the future? If I could be a comic book artist/video game artist and musiscian on the side and actually make a fair amount of money, I would be so happy...

I weird grunge band i knocking on your door. They ask you where the party is. As a matter of fact, you are in the middle of having a party and it seems that none of your neighbours are having a party - so the grunge guys must be talking about your party. But you don’t recall inviting them and it seems strange to you as you have no idea who they are. What do you do? Probably say that it's a private party and ask them who invited them. I probably won't be comfortable inviting random strangers into my home, sooo... I should be having parties.

What is your favourite animated movie? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh How to train your dragon, probably....but.. Rise of the Guardians is also one of my faves.

It’s 3 AM and your phone is ringing - but who’s calling? Probably my boyfriend. Pretty much only him and my mom calls me. Which is fine by me, I don't like talking on the phone much.

Do you often think about mortality? All of the time.. I am afraid that I'm just a minor character in a horror movie, y'know? One of those who's just there to get killed by the monster. Or that I'm gonna be someone who by chance is at a school where a shooting happends, or some drunk ass idiot is gonna run into me in his car. Because those things happends to someone and that someone could be me.

Do you like crime stories? Sometimes. Not my favorite, tho.

Do I remind you of a fictional charater? Ohh there was someone once, I remember...some character.  You pretty much remind me of those sweet airheads in animes that make lunches for people and are always sweet to anyone.

My Name is Arendse, and I really like it. It's an old germanic name and means "power" and "eagle"

I love rain if it's heavy, I hate the light drizzling kind. I think it's quite refreshing.

Circle. I don't like edges.

Conflict, I find it boring to look at happy people. I like looking at conflict and personality-types and trying to predict the acts of these types.

"How to Paint a Dead Man" by Sarah Hall. It's mindblowing, everybody should read it. You get a new understanding of humanity.
