This fall marks the 20th Anniversary of the publication of ALOUD:! Voices from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, the seminal anthology that launched the birth of the Spoken Word Movement. To mark the moment -- and the reopening of the Bowery Poetry Club -- co-editors Miguael Algarin and I will feature at a reading celebration at the Club on Sun, Oct 13, 7pm. Among the poets confirmed: Edwin Torres, Maggie Estep, Ed Morales, Dana Bryant, Carl Hancock Rux. Tributes will be made to Pedro Pietri, Sekou Sundiata and others.
