thinking thoughts about submissive alpha!sam…
gn!omega!reader, incoherent rambling, 18+ under the cut
he’s not someone who’s accustomed to having control and honestly? he doesn’t particularly enjoy being in a position of power over you. he feels weird about it but he also can’t help himself around you; he needs to be inside you during your heat but he knows he’s so big and strong and he doesn’t want to hurt you but oh my god he wants you so so so bad. so bad it’s hurting him just as much as it hurts you.
you have to be the one to initiate things because he’s afraid of being too rough with you. he knows you’re in heat and you’re doing so well at restraining yourself — you’re tough, you can handle it — but it’s sam that begs YOU to take care of yourself. you’ve already said before that suppressing your heat can be really painful and difficult and he promised he would never ever let you suffer, but he just isn’t built to take and take and take. he begs you to use him, to stop putting yourself in pain. he’ll lay back and let you do anything you want to get off, he’ll listen and he’ll be gentle (unless you demand otherwise) and he’ll give himself to you, all of himself to you, because he loves you so very much <3

You’d been on heat suppressants your entire life. It was just easier that way, and your parents never really minded it. You were never super curious about what your heat would be like off of suppressants anyway. At least, not until you started dating your boyfriend, Sam, who happened to be an alpha.
It’d been four months dating him, and he was the sweetest guy you’d ever been with. Well, he was the only guy you’d been with ever, but that didn’t make him any less of a sweetheart. By the second month, you had started to wonder what it would be like to have a real heat, one without suppressants, with him. He’d never been on suppressants and was always an open book when it came to his rut, but you’d never spent it together with him.
When you told him that you were an omega, just on heavy suppressants to make it seem like you were a beta, he hadn't minded at all. In fact, nothing about your relationship had changed at all. Sam was still just as sweet and caring, and after having a conversation about wanting to go off of suppressants to experience your heat in its entirety, he was completely open to taking time off just to spend it with you. And that was exactly what he did.
Sam had helped you with making your nest, turning your bedroom into a makeshift den of sorts. The bed was covered in soft blankets, some of your favorite shirts of his, and pillows he’d brought over from his own apartment. He was sure to put care into it, his scent permeating most of the items that you’d used.
It was obvious your heat was approaching, and fast at that, your pheromones smelling “sweeter” as Sam had described them at least. As your heat had approached, you’d gotten more and more nervous about the experience. It had reached a peak this morning when you woke up with your body feeling hot, hotter than usual. By the afternoon, you felt as if you were drowning in the scent of Sam’s pheromones, his woody and slightly minty scent enveloping you like a hug.
Sam was over in a heartbeat when you’d called, practically panting out your words from how overwhelming his scent was. When he’d gotten to your apartment, you were curled up in your nest, one of his shirts against your chest as you squirmed in your nest. It felt impossible to get comfortable, the heat within your body burning hot along with the ache in your lower abdomen.
Sensing Sam’s presence had you wanting to pounce onto him, logic hitting the fan as your instincts overtook any solid thought that was left in your fuzzy head. Despite the urge to move, your body was too weak to make any extreme movements. All you could do was roll over to face him, your sweat-slicked bangs sticking to your forehead as you panted out his name softly.
“Shh, I'm right here,” he soothed gently, rushing to sit next to you on your bed. He’d brought a bag of stuff that he’d set down next to the nightstand, stuff that seemed to be snacks and things of that sort. He could read you like a book, sensing your anxiety and slight confusion from the fresh feeling of your instincts. “Just breathe,” he whispered softly, rubbing gentle circles on your back.
“Feel so achy, Sammy,” you babbled, feeling slick pool in your cotton panties as you breathed in his fresh scent. Your body could practically sense that he was there to help, that he would be the one to save you from the hot pit in your stomach.
He could smell your arousal, the scent overwhelming as he felt his own instincts start to awaken inside of him. “What do you need, love?”
You let out a whine before tugging on the sleeve of his shirt, looking him in the eyes with pure desperation shining through your pupils.
“You know what I need,” you huff under your breath with an attitude. The desperation and pure need to feel full makes you frustrated with his dumb question.
“I need to hear you say it, baby,” he murmurs, eager to hear your verbal consent before touching you any further. “Need to know exactly what you want”
With a small sigh, you manage to mutter out your request. “I need you to touch me,” you pleaded as your panties dampened at the overwhelming amount of slickness between your legs.
He hums, his hand pushing your panties aside with a gentleness that feels all too well. His fingers glide against the slick lips of your cunt, rubbing slow circles right against your clit. “Like that, hm?”
The feeling of his fingers against your heated pussy has you reeling as you nod eagerly, your hips rutting up against his fingers, desperate to feel more of the sweet pleasure he’s providing you with.
Sam knew that you weren’t going to last long in this state, that you’d just keep getting more and more insatiable the longer he made you wait for release. “Lift your hips, love,” he purred as he insisted on removing your damp panties.
You simply hum, whining as he moves his fingers away to take your underwear off. Lifting your hips, he hooks his fingers into the waistband of your panties, peeling them down your thighs before throwing them aside.
“Atta girl,” he praises as he takes in the sight of your swollen, glistening folds. “Gonna make you feel so good.”
He spreads your legs with care, settling between them as he rests your thighs on his shoulders. Sam knew you craved his touch with every fiber of your being, but he also knew that he had to hear your approval before acting.
“Tell me what you want, doll,” he urged. “Do you want my mouth on your pretty pussy?”
You let out a small hiccup, nodding impatiently.
He takes your nod as a green light, not needing any further encouragement from you before he leans in and drags his tongue along your slit. Groaning softly, he slowly laps at your folds as if savoring your unique flavor. After a few teasing licks, he focuses his attention on your clit, circling at the nub with the tip of his tongue before gently sucking.
With a needy squirm, you cry out his name as your fingers tangle in his brown hair as if trying to ground yourself from the pleasure. As he suckles at your clit, his tongue swirling around the nub, you feel your cunt throb eagerly. “S-Sam,” you babble with a shudder as he starts to get more sloppy with his assault on your pussy.
Pulling away with a soft kiss to your clit, he coos lowly against your pussy. “Cum on my tongue, princess.”
He wastes no time latching back onto you, giving a particularly hard suck as he feels your slick drip down his chin. His actions are thoughtless yet passionate, his own instincts making him eager for more of you.
You tug on his hair gently with a soft cry as you feel your head roll back in pleasure. A rush of your juices leak onto his tongue as he hums, as if encouraging your orgasm. He slurps every drop with fervor, his eyes watching as you come undone on his tongue. With a loud, sloppy pop, he finally pulls away from your glistening cunt.
“That’s my good girl,” he rasped as he pressed a final, feather-light kiss to your cunt.
Despite your fresh orgasm, you still feel that deep-seated pulse in your stomach. Sam doesn’t even need to hear you say it to know that you need more, that you crave more than what he’s already given you.
“My insatiable little omega,” he teases. “I’ll give you what you want, baby.”
With that promise, he drags his fingers against your folds, feeling as more slick leaks from your needy pussy. He circles your entrance with a single, thick finger before pushing it in slowly, giving you time to get used to the feeling before curling it right against your sweet spot.
Your hips buck as you let out a gasp, lips parting as he starts thrusting his finger in and out.
“That’s my good girl. Can my doll handle another?”
A small squeal falls from your lips as he continues to curl his finger against that sweet spot. You nod eagerly, desperate to finally feel him inside of you.
Feeling your walls flutter against his finger, he happily obliged, pushing another finger inside of you. He pumps both of them in and out, still aiming for that spongy spot inside of you before scissoring them inside of you to stretch you out.
Slick drips down his fingers as you let out a strangled moan. “Sam— Fuck!”
“Is it good love? Tell me how my fingers feel inside you.”
Your mind is virtually blanking from the pleasure, eyes fluttering closed as you struggle to get the words out. “‘ts so good.. t-too much- close—” You pant as he hits that spot.
He feels you clench around his fingers, your pussy right on the edge. Curling his fingers against that spot one last time, he pulls his fingers out despite your annoyed whine.
“I know baby, shh,” he coos. “Gonna give you what you need.”
Sam fumbles with his belt as he takes his pants off, his boxers following with them as he pulls out his cock. He settles between your legs, pressing a soft kiss against your lips before delicately folding you into a mating press.
“Is this okay, baby? I’ll go slow,” he promises, pressing your thighs against your chest. “Gonna breed you s’good.”
Lining his cock up with your entrance, he mutters softly. “Just relax princess.”
He pushes in gently, the swollen head of his cock pressing into you as he lets out a low groan as you clench around him. Slowly, he pushes further inside of you, fighting the urge to just slam inside of you in one thrust.
You let out a noisy whine, nibbling at your bottom lip as you feel him sink into you inch by inch. His cock already feels deep despite him being only halfway in. “S-Sammyy—”
“Shh, almost done honey,” he whispers against your ear. “Just a little more.”
Finally, he bottoms out inside of you, the head of his cock kissing your cervix as he stills inside of you. Your walls flutter around him as he lets you get used to the feeling of being so full.
“There’s my good girl, letting me fill her up so good.”
Tiny tears well on your lash line as you let out a breath you hadn’t known you were holding in. “‘ts so deep.. feels like you’re in my stomach-”
He hums, starting to rock his hips slowly inside of you. “Gonna move now, okay doll?”
With that, he begins to move, his hips rolling in a lazy rhythm. He pulls out almost entirely, leaving only the tip inside before pushing back in with a deep and steady thrust. Keeping that slow pace, he groans as he feels her walls fluttering with each deep thrust.
“Is this good, baby?” Sam mutters against your ear. “Feels good?”
You nod with a gasp as you feel his cock hit the spongy spot deep inside of your cunt, wrapping your arms around him as he starts to slightly pick up the pace.
“I got you, baby,” he murmurs as he peppers gentle kisses along your temple.
Your heart races against his chest, each thrust deeper than the last as the ache inside of your cunt finally starts to disappear. Your omega instincts completely take over as your breath comes out in short, sharp gasps.
“Come on princess, cum for me,” Sam babbles, feeling his own release start to near. He picks up his pace once more, his tip pressing right against that spot with every thrust. “Gonna cum inside you.”
“Pleasepleaseplease— gonna cum!” You cry out, thighs trembling as you start to feel that coil inside of you unravel.
“Don’t fight it baby, let it happen,” he encouraged through his own moans. The sloppy wet sounds of his cock slamming into your soaking cunt echoes throughout the room as he makes love to you right in your nest.
Your cries grow louder and more insistent as you start to tighten around his cock, right on the edge of release.
“That’s my girl, go on,” he breathes against your ear as he gives you one final thrust to push you over the edge. His cock kisses your cervix one final time before he feels your body stiffen as your walls convulse around him.
Your orgasm hits you like a tidal wave as you clamp around Sam’s cock, moaning his name loudly as you feel him cumming hot ropes of his own cum inside of you.
His hips grind against you as he rides out his own orgasm, working his cum deep inside of your quivering cunt. “Good girl, my good girl.”
Sam flips you over onto his stomach, his cock sinking deeper inside of you as you let out a small whimper in protest.
“Shh, we’re done for now baby,” he purrs against your ear with a soft kiss to your lips.
You couldn’t imagine going back on suppressants again, not after how good he made your first real heat feel. Sighing softly, you mutter blissfully against his chest, “Never using heat suppressants again.”

Summary: Sam is back in town.
Pairing: Alpha!Sam Winchester x fem!Reader
Warnings: implied smut, a/b/o, scenting
A/N: A little drabble collection of Alpha Sam and shop owner reader.
He’s back in town for a case, casually walking into your little shop.
You’re used to hunters roaming your shop. Charms, exotic weapons, rare books, and anything in between are your specialty.
More than once, even the infamous Winchesters came to you for advice and to use your supplies to kill what goes bump in the night.
You try to act normal while inhaling his intoxicating scent deeply.
Sam acts as if your scent doesn’t influence him. He walks around the shop, looking at books, crystals, and finally an angel blade.
“That’s brand-new. I got it last month,” you coo, trying to get Sam’s attention. He furrows his brow, lost in thought, when his brother walks into your shop.
“Sweetheart!” Dean exclaims, waving at you. “How have you been? How’s business?”
“You know, it’s a small town, and if you are not around, business is slow.” You wink back at Dean, making the hunter chuckle.
“Sammy, did ya hear? Y/N missed us,” he says. Dean rolls his eyes when Sam still doesn’t react. “You can buy all the books after we talk to Y/N.”
“What?” Sam cocks his head to look your way. “Oh, yeah.” The hunter sheepishly looks your way. He sighs but walks toward you to place the angel blade on the counter. “Y/N, this product is dangerous. You shouldn’t sell angel blades.”
“It’s not a real one.” You roll your eyes. “It’s made in China, dude.” Dean snickers at his brother’s pained expression. Sam doesn’t want to admit he was distracted because he had only eyes for you.
“That’s good, sweetheart. It saved you from getting spanked by Sammy,” Dean jokes, but there was something in your eyes that only Sam saw for a moment.
“I wouldn’t mind a good spanking,” you say, making Sam back paddle, and Dean choke on his spit. “Just saying, a man who knows how to use his hands isn’t too bad to have around.”
“Uh—Sammy, I’ll be out at the bar for a few drinks and the nice bartender I interviewed earlier.” Dean is suddenly all too eager to leave your store. He says his goodbyes and is out of your door before you can blink.
“So…no real angel blade?” Sam clears his throat as you are still staring at the door, slamming shut behind Dean.
“No…I know my limits.” You shrug. “I don’t need these feathered dudes to walk into my store and make a mess.”
Sam laughs at your words. “We are in town for a case. Mind if I borrow a few of your books?”
“Not at all. I’ve missed the infamous Winchesters,” you reply with a wink. “It’s a little boring here when you two are not around.”
“Did you miss me too?” Sam asks; his voice is a little rougher now. He steps closer to the counter again, looking down at you.
“Parts of you…” Your comeback makes Sam smirk. He dips his head to look at the door to be sure his brother won’t come back. “The most important ones…”
“Good.” He walks toward the door, locks it, and turns the sign. “I had hoped you did not forget about the most important parts…”

The memory and the tranquility Dean briefly had flicker out like an old reel-to-reel movie. Bile churned in his gut that his depraved desires, their oft-illicit pleasures, now lay bare, exposed by the bond that chained him to this stranger.
*You aren't depraved. He's always known you are the other half of his soul.

December
Bobby entered through the kitchen door, shaking the snow off his jacket. He sees the O chopping up root vegetables at the table and comments, "Getting cold enough to freeze a witch's titty." She attempts to repress a smile before getting up to add the vegetables to a large stew pot.
The O’s pouring him some coffee from the old blue enamel pot when the front door opened, then shut with an immense bang. Sam swiftly walked by the case opening as the door reopened and Dean yelled, chastising his brother for slamming it shut in his face.
A resounding fuck you is followed by boots loudly clomping up the stairs. Dean's come on, Sammy, is answered with the usual response It's Sam, followed by the anticlimactic slamming of another door. Dean walked into the kitchen and dropped into the nearest chair.
“Mind explaining what the hell brought that on?" Bobby asked as the O set another steaming mug in front of Dean. "School had its yearly health check day." Bobby waited for Dean to continue, but had to prompt him. "And?" Dean picked up the mug and hastily said over its rim, "Sam had to admit that he's still technically a virgin." Bobby blinked in disbelief. "What do you mean by technically?"
Finishing his long sip, Dean set the mug down and snapped his fingers at the O. Bobby bit the inside of his cheek, mentally reminding himself he wouldn't interfere with how the young Alpha handled his property. She peered at Dean's gestures, then set a lid on the pot, grabbed something from the counter, and left.
"Sam's argumentative attitude was getting outta hand. Dad thought the best way to get it out of Sam's system was training drills. So he packed us off to the Ozarks." Dean fiddled with his mug, stalling, making Bobby wait for him to continue.
"I should've recognized the signs cause a few days in Sam's first rut hit. Dad immediately left for a supply run. He didn't come back that night." Bobby didn't like the tone of Dean's voice. "I had to leave Sam, hike out to get a cell signal. Dad left a voicemail. Said he got a call about a hunt, that the supplies were waiting for pickup." Bobby couldn't miss how Dean's hand tightened around the mug. "By the time I got back, Sam was in rut fever."
The Beta's jaw clenched. Part of him couldn't believe John had just walked out, leaving the son he favored in a vulnerable position. But then again, he wasn't surprised. The Alpha had basically handed over all of Sam's care to his brother before Dean was even old enough to care for himself. "Son, whatever you had to do to take care of your brothers is not going to make me look any different at either of you."
Dean's defensive posture relaxed as he realized the man he considered a second father wasn't going to condemn them. Bobby then inquired why John hadn't taken Sam to a state-sanctioned brothel after he got back.
"Stubborn sonuvabitch refused, said he wouldn't participate in a system that allows Alphas to use O's like toilet paper. Dad told him, It doesn't matter, he'd have to at some point, cause it's the one thing that we can't get fake papers for." Dean shook his head.
"That set Sam off, throwing it in Dad's face how he always instilled in us as hunters we help, not hurt people." Dean absentmindedly twitches his shoulder, giving Bobby an idea of the elder Winchester's response.
"Call Dr. Stevenson. They might know of some medical loophole giving the… extenuating circumstances."
Sam, slumped over several open schoolbooks, heard the bedroom door open and flared up. "Fuck off! I don't want to…," his venting stopped seeing it's the O. "I'm sorry, thought you were Dean."
The O shut the door and crossed the room, setting a mug and a foil-wrapped plate on the table by his books. He gestures thank you as she sat on the bed, removing her shoes before scooting back against the headboard. Sam knew that with the implant inhibiting her wolf's healing abilities, even simple chores exhausted her, and she would often rest at this time of day.
“I'm not going to disturb you by studying here, am I?" The O shook her head and her hands fluttered out a question. "Dean's being an ass has to do with Dad." She gave him a quizzical look. "He thinks I influence Dean's way of thinking too much. Ordered him to stop coddling you while healing." The O nodded, and her expression of acceptance made Sam recheck his temper about his family's dynamics. Getting up, he moved to the bed and sat facing her.
"Something killed our mom when we were kids. Dad couldn't handle it. He found out about things that go bump in the night and became obsessed." The O made a sign Sam had only seen drawn in his dad's journal-Hunters. "What do you know about hunters?"
Sam watched her gesturing, not understanding all the signs, but recognizing enough to realize that other hunters had visited her feral pack for information or services. Sam felt his wolf's caution not to inquire about what services entailed shifts his gaze to the window.
“I remember Dad getting angry if Dean messed up, always saying it only takes one mistake. I found out it was because Dad started training Dean when he was six or seven," Sam huffed. “When we were younger, Dad would be gone a few days, and he’d leave us with someone to look after us. By the time Dean turned nine, he began to leave us alone.”
“At first, it was a couple days. Eventually, it got to be weeks on end," Sam shook his head. "Dean somehow managed with what Dad left. You wouldn't believe how many things Dean can make with boxed mac & cheese. But there were times," Sam’s wolf growls. "You have no clue how much I hate ketchup on crackers." The O gave him a you kidding me look.
"Sorry, I forgot about the Omega feed. Guess in comparison, we had it better after all." The O licked her bottom lip, unnerving Sam at how quickly she'd incorporated Dean's habit before gesturing a question Sam knew would eventually come.
"Dean's got this warped view of himself. But I know my brother. He's not angry about the mental communication. He's scared because you can see him."
Dean looked at the garage's cracked wall clock and saw it was nearly seven. He finished the tow truck's oil change, washed his hands, and then shut the rolling steel door before walking to the house. He finds Bobby hunched over his desk, immersed in research, oblivious to the time, and heads upstairs to take a bath before dinner.
Starting the shower, Dean cranks up the hot water knob. Stripping out of his coveralls, deposited them in the hamper, then slid the curtain back, climbing through the stream wafting outwards, turned his back to let the heated water beat the tension from his muscles.
Wrapping a towel around his waist, Dean swiped moisture running down the bath's mirror with his hand and noticed the stubble gracing his face darkening as he aged. Dean briefly wondered if it would eventually darken to match his father's, but dismissed the idea since he took after his mother's fairer coloring.
Exiting the bath, Dean walked down the hall, scrubbing at his damp hair, opened the bedroom door, and froze. He expected Sam to be still buried in his homework, not sound asleep on the bed with his O.
As Dean silently pads over, he stares at them curled up like cats napping in a sunny window and feels emotional, catching in his throat, choking him. Dean had done all he could to shield his brother from the worst of this life. He sacrificed his own needs and wants to give his brother time to be a kid till that Christmas. Sam wouldn't let it go, and after his remark about Mary, Dean stormed out, only to find upon returning, Sam had John's journal.
It nearly killed him to see the light of innocence burn out of Sam's eyes upon his confirmation that the journals held the truth about the world.
Despite that, Sam still looks for good in others, where Dean only sees danger. And Sam never lost his courage to express what he felt, not hiding his emotions. Unlike him. Daddy's blunt little instrument.
When John left both of them behind for the first time, he’d looked him hard in the eye and said, ‘Look after your brother.’ It wasn't something he needed to be reminded of. It'd been stone number one, the tenant of Dean’s existence, since the day his parents placed newborn Sammy in his arms.
Dean remembers the days, sometimes weeks, waiting for John's return from some hunt, watching every single penny to keep his brother fed but the money still ran out.
Then came the times Dean couldn't find work or hustle pool felt unending shame that haunted him in quiet times, that by fifteen, he was experienced at hustling in other ways, having learned many happily married men would indulged in their fantasies for the right price.
Dean was grateful Sam had never figured out what he's done outta necessity because he still would do whatever it took. And here he stood, once again, having to sacrifice something to take care of his brother.

Dean parked in front of the motel office. He glanced at his brother in the passenger seat, his gaze fixed out the side window as it had been the whole ride. Once Dean told him about the case - and the familiar town it was in - Sam agreed to come along and hadn't said a word since. He hadn't read a book or looked at his laptop or phone either. Instead, he sat in pensive silence, his eyes transfixed out the window, but he wasn't watching the passing scenery. He was miles away, buried in memories of his past.
With a sigh, Dean left the car and went to get them a room. He was only mildly surprised that Sam hadn't suggested calling other hunters on the case in their place. Sam had a steely resolve about the whole thing, and Dean was sure he knew exactly why. It wasn't their first time in this town, but it had been over a decade since they'd set foot there.
Dean parked in front of their room, and Sam followed his brother wordlessly, grabbing their bags and shutting the doors behind them. Sam dropped the bags to the floor and plopped heavily on the end of one of the two queen beds in the small and dated motel room; the frame and springs groaned against his weight. Dean sat on the edge of the second bed facing his younger brother, whose hunched posture made him seem as small and thin as the lanky teenager he was when he was last here.
"Hey," Dean cleared his throat, glad when Sam met his eyes. "You good to do this case?"
Sam sighed, and his shoulders slumped. He shook his head and rubbed his hands on his thighs.
"Yeah," he shrugged. "Yeah, I can work the case. It's just…half of me never wanted to come back here or think about any of it, and part of me…"
"Wants to find out if she's still around or mated?" Dean finished for him, ignoring the glare he got in return.
The last time they were in this town, Sam was in his senior year and had graduated. Almost immediately, he'd met a girl who stole his heart, and they were inseparable. Sam would tell Dean all about it and ask for advice when it came to dates or losing their virginity to each other. Dean was proud of Sam and happy for his younger brother.
But then John said it was time to move on, scooped in without warning, and took Sam and Dean away from that town and on to the next hunt. Sam was devastated and angry, shouting at his father and threatening to run off. Dean assumed it was a big part of why Sam eventually left him and Dad and went to Stanford. It wasn't the only reason, as things had been building for a long time. But it had to be the straw that broke the camel's back.
Dean knew that seeing the town the case was in would trigger something in Sam. Part of him knew they couldn't just leave a hunt unattended, and part of him knew Sam would either try to find or actively avoid seeing her. Maybe a tiny part of him hoped that by bringing Sam there, they could find her, and maybe Sam could have a chance at happiness. Perhaps he hoped it could make up for the wrongs in the past, for letting Dad take them away to begin with.
"Look," Dean sighed. "I know that losing your mate was really hard for you, and no one can replace her. But you've got that whole Alpha thing and the ruts, and it's getting harder for you without a mate."
Dean tried to be sympathetic. Like their father, he was a Beta. Alphas and Omegas were common but still an anomaly. Though Dean had studied and learned everything about Alphas to better understand his brother and his suffering, he couldn't really comprehend what Sam went through. He couldn't feel it like Sam did. So, the best he could do was try to be as supportive and understanding as possible, imagining if he'd lost someone he loved in such a horrific way.
Sam looked at him with a furrowed brow, "Jess wasn't my mate."
"Wait, what?"
Sam sighed, "We never mated," he admitted. "It just…never felt like the right time. There was never a glow when our cycles aligned, so I knew we could be compatible but weren't… mates. I think that's why we kept putting it off, and then -"
Dean nodded in understanding. But if Jess wasn't his mate, maybe Sam still had a mate somewhere. And if it wasn't Jess, well, the only other person Dean ever saw Sam care about that much was her.
-
The case was wrapped up within three days, relatively straightforward. Dean was grateful. He had done most of the work as Sam was increasingly on edge. Dean was wary, giving Sam space, even if he insisted he could work the case. It didn't make it any easier dealing with a seriously agitated Alpha, who was acting stranger and stranger. And while Dean was familiar with the term 'stop and smell the roses,' it was alarming how Sam kept stopping to smell flowers and the soil in which they grew.
Sam was utterly oblivious to the confused and worried looks his brother gave him and others as they worked the investigation. He couldn't think, constantly surrounded by the familiar scent of flowers and earth that reminded him of her. In this town, the familiar scent everywhere he turned was making things worse, and his rut ramped up off schedule.
He couldn't focus on the case. When they entered the police station, Dean talked, and Sam was instantly drawn to the fresh, large bouquet on the counter. He quickly buried his nose in it, breathing in deeply of the floral scents, a hint of the dirt in which they grew barely there. It wasn't until Dean pulled and pushed on him, getting his attention and forcefully separating him from the plant, that Sam realized what the hell he was doing and what it must have looked like. He tried to ignore the gawking and stares from passersby at his odd behavior. At Dean's insistence, he left the station and waited in the car.
Sam jumped at the sound of the Impala's driver's door opening as his brother climbed behind the wheel. Dean started the car and sat back with a sigh.
"What's going on with you, man?" When Sam groaned but didn't answer, Dean continued. "I knew coming here might be a bad idea, but I didn't think it would get you so worked up."
"I'm fine," Sam ground out through clenched teeth.
"Oh, yeah. You're real fine," Dean scoffed. "Burying your face in every plant you see, you're red and sweaty, and even I'm choking on your scent."
"Maybe I should sit out the rest of the hunt, like you said," Sam agreed, defeatedly. "Just my cycle off or something."
"Or something," Dean grumbled, shifting the car into drive. "Let's get some food - if you think you can handle it - and then we'll go back to the motel so you can rest up."
Sam scowled but didn't respond. He might be going into a rut, but he could still handle and conduct himself properly in public. Okay, so the plant thing was admittedly weird. But he could consciously try to make an effort not to sniff every plant he saw. They settled in at the diner's table, and Dean placed an order for them both. Sam was too busy trying not to let his rut get the better of him that he couldn't care about or focus on anything else.
When the waitress returned with their food, she first set down Dean's plate. Then, as she went to set down Sam's, she dropped it, and it fell to the tabletop with a clatter, the food splattering in all directions. The brothers' heads shot up to see what caused the issue, but the waitress wasn't even looking at them. Her eyes glowed with a bright orange light, her gaze fixed on an Alpha male customer standing in the diner's doorway.
The man's eyes glowed in response, and he growled. The next second, the waitress ran away at full speed, and the Alpha followed as quickly as his feet would carry him. The diner was filled with hoots and hollers from the customers, and applause filled the building as the couple's potent scents swirled and dissipated with their disappearance. Dean turned to Sam with a broad grin, which quickly faded when he saw his brother's angry scowl.
"It's not that bad," Dean chuckled at the mess of food left behind, signaling another waitress who ran to assist.
"I'm so sorry," she said as she wiped up the mess, another employee coming with a bin to help. "We'll bring out a new order right away."
"It's no problem," Dean grinned, and the waitress predictably swooned and hurried to get the order. "See, Sam? All fixed."
Dean was worried his overgrown brother would Alpha out at any moment, considering he had been extra sensitive the last few days.
"I don't care about the mess," Sam said. "It's just -"
"It's just normal," Dean finished for him. "It's a good thing, Sam. It means two mates have found each other and are about to bond."
"It shouldn't have to be like that," he growled. "It should be more discreet. Private."
"You know what I think?" Dean said after Sam's new plate was delivered. "I think you're mad you ain't found that glow yet, and being here is making it worse. I also think all your running ain't just about hunting."
Sam couldn't bring himself to argue, too tired and irritated from the day. He was grateful when they returned to the motel, even though it was still early afternoon. Dean wanted him to sit out the remainder of the hunt. Sam wanted to argue but couldn't. He wasn't very productive anyway, as his mind was filled with memories of his past and her.
The first time he saw her, he was walking back to the motel from school. She had veered off the sidewalk onto an overgrown path into the woods. Curious, Sam followed her at a distance, careful not to give away his position. She wasn't attempting to cover her tracks, and she seemed at peace walking through the mud and creeks, uncaring of the dirt on her shoes or the bottoms of her denim overalls. She walked to a clearing along the creek's banks where many flowers grew, entirely out of place to their environment.
He made his presence known, and after an awkward silence during which he was afraid she might run off, she invited him to join her. It turns out the small plot of land belonged to her family and used to have a cabin on it, but it was demolished years ago. She liked to come to that spot independently, enjoy nature's peace, and practice gardening. She loved digging in the earth, planting and caring for the plants and flowers, and watching them grow under her care.
It shouldn't have surprised him that those scents clung to her, were ingrained in her, earth and flowers a part of her essence. He loved to hold her close and bury his nose in her neck, inhaling that scent like he needed it to breathe. She was bright and carefree and welcomed him into her life, first as a friend and then more, with an open heart and mind. It was too easy to fall for her, and Sam told her nearly everything about his family and his life, but he withheld the finer details of monsters and hunting, not wanting her to be afraid of him or the world.
He had wondered if she could be his Omega, but she hadn't presented yet when they were together. Her rich scent, however, always had his untamed young Alpha crawling to the surface. When his father packed them into the Impala in the middle of the night, Sam fought and argued, but in the end, he had no choice but to follow his family to the next town and case. When he left for Stanford, he left everything in his past behind to move beyond it into something new and different. He hadn't really thought about her again until Dean mentioned the case in this town.
Sam was interrupted from his musings as Dean entered the motel room and closed the door behind him. He wasn't sure how long he'd sat there, lost in thought, but it was midday when he entered the room, and now, when Dean opened the door, it was dark outside.
"Have you been sitting there the whole time?" Dean asked, seeing Sam sitting on the edge of one of the beds as he had been when he left. Nothing in the room seemed out of place, but the TV was off, and Sam looked lost and surprised.
"What time is it?"
"Late," Dean answered. He removed his blazer and tie, then dropped to the edge of the other bed, facing his brother. "I gotta admit, Sammy, I'm a little worried."
"I'll be fine once this case is done and we leave."
Dean nodded, "Okay. Well, I think I can wrap it up tonight. We can probably head out in the morning if you're up for it."
"Yeah," Sam sighed, kicking off his shoes and laying back on the bed. "I'll just…rest."
Dean let him lie as he changed and got ready for the hunt. He knew who and what he was dealing with; he just had to take them out. Sam hadn't moved an inch since he'd laid down. Dean hoped he could finish this quickly and get his brother home safely. Dean was worried he might go feral, with his ruts worsening and his behavior becoming more erratic. It would be better to have him home in a concrete underground Bunker than loose among civilians.
At least he could control him better there, tie him down if need be. Buy him some time to try and find a solution or band-aid to prevent the inevitable. Ideally, Sam needed a mate. But they might be running out of time for that, too, and Sam was incredibly stubborn.
-
"Are you sure?" Sam asked as he settled his hips between her thighs.
He ran the back of his hand across his mouth, wiping away her juices from her second orgasm. Dean had given him tips and tricks for his and Y/N's first time together. Their parents were out of town for the weekend, and Sam wanted to plan a romantic evening. They had been together for months and said their 'I love you's' to each other. Now, they were ready to move into the physical, and Sam was grateful that it was her.
"Yes, Sam. I love you," Y/N said, cupping his cheek and pulling his lips to hers.
He groaned, pulling from the kiss long enough to roll a condom down his stiff and throbbing length. Y/N watched with rapt attention, spreading her legs wide to welcome him back in place. They were both hot and sweaty, eager and desperate, and Sam knew neither would last long—at least, not this first round.
He slid within her fairly quickly, trying to minimize the pain of breaking her hymen - taking her virginity and giving his in return - rubbing her clit in tight circles like Dean told him to do. She winced and stiffened, then sighed and relaxed, her pussy fluttering around him.
"I love you, too," Sam responded as he started thrusting slowly and steadily, allowing them to feel and adjust to each other.
It didn't take long for Sam's pace to increase, and a short while later, Y/N was cumming hard around him. Sam looked down at where they were connected, her pussy stretched wide to accommodate him. His knot popped, locking them together, and he leaned into her neck, biting hard into the flesh until her blood hit his tongue. Groaning, he rutted his hips, though locked in place, drawing out every ounce of their orgasms.
-
Sam woke with a drawn-out groan. His whole body ached and burned with a fever. His clothes and the bed beneath him were soaked in sweat, the room so saturated that even he choked on the scent. His rut had broken in the night, which must have been why he'd had such a vivid dream of him and Y/N.
It was a dream of their first time together, but it hadn't ended like that. He hadn't knotted or claimed her - as he was newly presented, and she hadn't presented yet - but his mind had twisted it into what his rutting Alpha desired. He would lose his mind if he didn't get out of this town and away from any thought of her.
Sam wasn't sure how long he had slept, but Dean wasn't in the room. He decided to shower, change, and strip the bed quickly, hopefully before Dean returned and had to suffer the potent stench of Sam's unscheduled rut. Thirty minutes later, Sam finished cleaning and opened a window to air out the room when Dean returned with a bag of food and a tray of coffee.
Sam tried to stand and look as normal as possible as Dean's eyes looked him over from across the room, but he knew his big brother could see right through him. No matter how much he tried to appear okay, Dean always knew.
"I got some food," he offered.
Sam took the opening, sat at the small table, and dug in. He hadn't realized his hunger until the food was in front of him. Dean joined him, and they ate in silence for a short while.
"Now that the case is done, we should leave town ASAP." Dean offered, and Sam nodded. "Unless you want to look for Y/N."
"No."
Sam shook his head and cleaned up his mess, turning his back on Dean, who was still sitting at the table, food abandoned.
"Sam," Dean tried. "You need a mate."
"I have no right, Dean!" Sam roared, catching his brother by surprise. "I left her and never came back. I probably broke her heart. I broke my own heart."
"That wasn't you, that was Dad."
Sam shook his head again, "I'll start packing. We should leave."
Just mentioning her name had Sam on edge. His Alpha snarled and clawed at the cage Sam put him in, desperate to break free. But he had no right to barge into her life after all these years. Besides that, what if she didn't want him? What if she was mated? Sam wasn't sure he could handle finding her and not having her. It would be better never to see her and never know. Dean didn't know what to say to convince Sam otherwise, so he kept quiet and watched his younger brother like a hawk as they packed up the Impala and hit the road.
"Can we make a stop?" Sam asked, pulling a card out of his pocket and handing it to Dean. It was for a florist, and Dean remembered seeing the card at the police station by the bouquet Sam wouldn't stop sniffing. "Should be just up ahead."
He needed to ask Sam about this plant obsession, but if it helped to calm him for the long ride home, Dean didn't mind—though it certainly wouldn't keep him from complaining about it.
The store was easy to find. It was situated on the main drive through town, and Dean quickly pulled the car into a spot along the curb. The shop was small and cute, though the name was a little weird. Oops-A-Daisy was written on the store windows, and a slightly faded sign bearing the name hung above the door.
"Alright, I'll go in and get you something. Just like…a plant in dirt in a pot or something?" Dean tried his best to understand, but this whole thing was way out of his depth.
"I don't know what I want," Sam said. "I want to pick something myself," he added as he climbed out of the car.
Dean cursed under his breath, hastily following his overgrown brother to the shop. "Sam, look, man, in your condition -"
"I can control myself, Dean," Sam argued as he wiped the sweat from his brow on his sleeve. "Okay, fine. I'll wait here," Sam leaned against the side of the Impala, crossing his arms and looking like a child throwing a tantrum.
Dean rolled his eyes but hurried inside the small shop. It was bright, and the scent of flowers, plant life, soil, and water was welcoming and soothing. Maybe Sam didn't have such a bad idea, and the scents calmed even Dean. He had no clue what he was looking for, but he could get whatever was delivered to the police station since Sam had his whole face buried in that thing.
Dean stood in the short line, looking over the various arrangements as he waited to speak with the florist. The customer in front of him finished their transaction, smiling, and took their freshly wrapped bouquet. Dean stepped up to the counter, and his eyes widened as he saw the sight before him.
"Y/N?"
"Dean?!"
A huge grin broke on her face as she came around the counter, and the two hugged. Dean had met her a few times back in the day, and the three of them hung out once or twice, but they were never really close. It didn't stop his excitement for seeing someone from their past, from simpler times, who was still alive and well. If anything, it made his hope burn bright for his brother.
"Why am I not surprised you work in a flower shop?"
"Actually, I own it," Y/N beamed with pride.
"Of course you do," Dean laughed and smiled. "Makes sense. You were always into botanicals."
"So what brings you to town?"
"Work," he stated, knowing she didn't know about hunting or the family business. "Was actually on my way out of town. But I noticed a bouquet at the police station and hoped I could get an arrangement like that one."
"Oh?" she returned behind the counter, pulling out a thick notebook and flipping through the pages until she found what she was looking for. "This one?" she held up the photo, and Dean nodded. "I can have it ready for you by tomorrow," she offered.
"Actually, I was heading out today. Can you have it done sooner or have something similar I can take now?"
As she opened her mouth to speak, the bell over the door chimed, alerting her to a new customer. She glanced at the door to greet them but stopped with wide eyes at the sight that met her. She should have known Sam would surely be around if Dean were here. His tall and large frame - which had grown even bigger since she'd last seen him - stooped to enter the doorway.
Despite being larger than her memory, she could still see her Sam in his features. He tilted his head, sniffing the air, and Y/N hesitantly sniffed back. He smelled just like she remembered, but more potent and rich. Her head was spinning, and she was half convinced she was hallucinating from too many unfulfilled heats.
She'd never stopped thinking about Sam, even as he disappeared and broke her heart into a thousand pieces. She knew she loved him, and had hoped that she would present to be his, but she never got the chance to find out. She'd tried dating others, but no one ever measured up to the way Sam Winchester made her feel. She could feel her body twinge and react in his presence, her scent spiking.
Dean stood off to the side, head bowed and hands in his pockets, trying to be small and invisible in the wake of his brother's cresting rut and - thank freaking God, finally! - finding his intended mate. He knew they should have tried to find Y/N, and Dean was not happy with Sam's decision not to do so, but now it seemed the universe was bringing them together and helping Sam understand what Dean already knew. So he stepped aside, shut his mouth, and prayed the two would give in, for both their sakes.
"Y/N."
Sam's voice sent a shiver down her spine in the best of ways, and her heart soared, knowing he didn't forget her. Dean was all but forgotten as their scents filled the air and their pupils dilated. Sam stepped closer, and his eyes flashed orange as his Alpha sensed its mate and took charge. Her eyes flashed in response, making Sam growl. Both his rut and her responding heat created a sense of urgency and desperation.
"Run, Little Omega," Sam urged, ticking his head upward. His eyes were glowing brightly, and hers were shining to match. "Run so I can catch you and make you mine."
Her breath hitched before she turned and ran out the back door of the shop - driven by instinct and tradition - running as fast as her legs could carry her. When Sam caught her, he'd mate and claim her, the inevitable outcome of the chase. But he could also lose her or give up, ending the chase without catching her and ending all hope of them being together.
He'd left before, and she'd felt so worthless and hurt and alone. After her family had died in an accident, she ached for him more than ever, to the point she tried to find him. But her research led her to articles claiming he had died and her soul shattered. She'd never recovered, and she supposed that's why she could never make anything work. She avoided all Alphas because none of them were even close to Sam and how sweet and caring he was. She tried to date Betas and even an Omega once, but nothing felt right or lasted.
She shook the negative thoughts from her mind as she ran toward her intended destination, the place she'd always gone to hide and feel safe since she was a kid. She was so focused on her target that she wasn't aware if Sam was still behind her.
Sam was surprised at how fast Y/N was, but he could keep up with her and keep her in his sights. Memories flooded his mind quickly, and halfway through the chase, he realized where she was going and, with a smirk, took a different route, hoping to get ahead of her.
Y/N knew these woods like the back of her hand, having explored them her whole life. She took the familiar path towards her family's plot of land, where the gardens were lush and welcoming. Where she'd rebuilt the small cabin where it once stood. Now, it was her safe haven and respite from the world.
She broke through the trees and bushes with minor snags and scrapes and burst into the garden with a long, relieved breath. She bent over in the clearing, hand on her knees, trying to catch her breath. But every breath seemed tinged with Sam's delectable scent. When she stood straight, Sam approached across the clearing—like a predator stalking its prey—and she was frozen in place by his intense and hungry gaze.
Sam let his forward momentum carry him as he practically crashed into Y/N, shuffling her back until she leaned against one of the many trees. He pressed his body against her, pinning her in place, as he dropped his head to her neck and inhaled her scent deeply from the source.
"This is where I saw you for the first time," he said as he pulled back. One hand squeezed her side while the other cupped her cheek. "I always wanted it to be you."
Y/N looked into his eyes - the sweet, caring Sam she knew faded away, replaced by raw power and pure lustful need - and she swallowed hard as her thighs clenched. Her heart beat faster as her heat took control, her will bending to the Alpha before her.
"I waited for you," she said.
She'd never really admitted it to herself, but she knew she was waiting for him, hoping one day he'd return. She hoped with all she had that she was Sam's mate. Their relationship and the feelings from their youth never faded from her mind or heart. Now, eyes glowing and chase complete, her blood raced in anticipation of becoming his.
"No more waiting," -Sam spoke as he pecked her lips- "No more running," -he moved to nip at her jaw and smiled against her skin as she whimpered- "Mine," he growled, looking her in the eye before he crashed his lips hard against hers.
Y/N gasped as Sam ground his hips against hers, feeling his hardening length straining beneath the denim. He seized the opportunity, gliding his tongue in her mouth, twisting it with hers, and tasting every inch. Her hands gripped tightly to the sides of his shirt, desperate to hold onto something to ground her.
Sam scooped her into his arms in a flash and smirked at her surprised squeal. He hurriedly carried her into the one-room cabin and kicked the door shut behind them. Once inside the confines of the small structure, Sam set her on her feet but didn't remove his arms from around her. He wasn't sure he could stop touching her anytime soon.
Her scent was intoxicating, and his rut was quickly devouring his control. She couldn't help but moan and whimper at his scent and touch. At the sound of her moans, he clenched his jaw, suddenly grabbing the collar of her shirt and ripping it straight down the middle before his lips began to explore the newly exposed skin.
“Alpha,” she breathed out, running her fingers through his hair and getting lost in the feel of his hot and hungry lips exploring her.
He quickly found his way back to her mouth, devouring her in a searing kiss as his hands worked to remove the tattered shirt and bra. His hands moved firmly against her sides, cupping her breasts, his thumbs teasing over her nipples as they rapidly hardened under his touch.
“So responsive.” he praised, breathing heavily, “The things I’m gonna do to you -”
His tone sounded like a warning, and Y/N shivered in response, her eyes wide as she dared meet his gaze. He smirked knowingly, taking a few steps back from her and slowly removing his shirt, his eyes locked onto hers. Her eyes roamed his exposed torso, the taut muscles and tanned skin. He had grown and filled out since she'd last seen him, which was saying something considering how toned and built he was before. Her fingers itched to caress every line, and she licked her lips unconsciously as her eyes flitted back to his.
He gave a wicked half-smirk before reaching out to her and pulling her against him. Their bare chests met as he wrapped his arms around her, his hands wandering over her back. Their lips hovered, barely touching and grazing with teasing kisses as their hands explored each other's bodies lovingly.
Her hands ran down over his chest, and she looked up at him with a smile, her eyes filled with warmth and awe. “I always wanted this with you. I just never thought it was possible, " she said, barely a whisper, her cheeks turning red from the admission. Sam watched as the blush trailed down her neck and over her chest. He breathed in sharply at the sight, needing her even more.
He leaned down slowly, then let his lips wander between her breasts, kissing over her heart. Their lips met once more as their hands worked to remove the rest of their clothing from each other. They giggled into their kisses as they struggled and tripped, finally falling together in a mass of limbs on the bed.
Sam hovered over her, his hands lazily exploring her exposed body as he looked over her in awe and appreciation, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything more beautiful than you, naked, willing, and waiting for me,” he breathed out, kissing and nipping along her neck. “Tell me you want me.”
“I want you, Alpha,” she breathed out needily, rubbing her clenched thighs together as her hands roamed over his broad shoulders and back.
“Tell me you need me,” he commanded a little firmer, his lips moving down her body, leaving marks of where he’d been.
“I-I need you,” she whined as her fingers ran through his hair.
He spread her legs, positioning himself between them. His hands ran up the insides of her thighs before moving to her center and finding her soaked. She moaned out at the delicate touch of his fingers as they flicked her clit and moved to her entrance. He grasped his cock firmly, gliding it along her slick folds and bumping the head into her clit repeatedly, watching her as she whimpered and whined.
“Tell me you’re mine,” he said softly, pecking her lips and chin.
“I’m yours, Sam. Alpha! All yours,” she begged, clawing at him to bring him closer.
Sam smirked at her, “And I’m yours, Baby,” he promised, kissing her deeply as he slid himself into her, groaning out as his hips came flush with hers.
A choked-off whine left his lips as his body trembled, trying to hold still and let her adjust. She was warm and tight around him, a perfect fit to his girth, and he was sure nothing would ever come close to feeling this good again.
“Alpha, please,” She begged him again, trying to gain leverage to move her hips, but he had her pinned with his body. He pulled out almost entirely before slamming back in harshly, both of them calling out at the feeling.
“Fuck, Y/N. Omega,” he groaned, repeating his actions and getting lost in the feel of her around him. He was torn between taking his time, feeling all of her, and just giving in to his hunger and claiming her for his own. He picked up his pace, holding her face in his hands so he could watch every look, every twitch of her face as he filled her again and again. His heart ached from the fullness, and he fought off the urge to cry or whine, his own senses overwhelming him as he tried desperately to keep control and keep himself together.
She shifted her legs higher on his sides, allowing him to sink even further. “Oh God,” they breathed out at the same time. Sam dropped his forehead to hers as he swiveled his hips in slight circles before beginning deep, passionate thrusts within her.
“Oh God, Sam, ALPHA!” she breathed out, her eyes rolling back as her nails dug into his back. He growled in response, thrusting faster. “Please don’t stop, don’t stop!” she begged, trying to meet his thrusts.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” he promised, shifting his hips as his hands wrapped around her shoulders, holding her in place to take all he had to give.
“Sam! I’m gonna…” she called out, her voice catching in her throat as her head lolled to the side.
“Fuck yes, Omega. Cum for me!” Sam demanded, his hand snaking down to rub her clit as he pounded her deep into the mattress.
She came hard, a scream ripping from her throat as her body convulsed and spasmed beneath him. Sam roared, feeling her clench around him, and dropped his head to the crook of her neck as he thrust deep. His knot popped and locked them together, but he kept thrusting as his seed spilled into her and leaked out around his cock. Burying his face in her neck, he breathed deep before opening his mouth and biting down hard. She screamed and came again, drawing out both of their orgasms.
Once he was able, Sam reluctantly pulled away and grabbed a towel, cleaning them up before climbing back into the bed beside her. He wrapped his arms around her, tucking her back tight against his chest and lapping over her claim.
“Are you ok?” he whispered, kissing her neck and shoulder.
“Mmm-hmm,” she hummed happily, eyes closed and body utterly limp in his hold.
Sam chuckled, holding her tighter to him as she fell asleep. He knew they needed to talk. He'd never told her about hunting and monsters, but now that they were bound, he'd have to tell her the truth. The whole truth. Although he dreaded it, he somehow felt it would be okay. For now, he would enjoy mating with the one who got away and was now his forever.

The coppery smell of blood was now almost permanently etched into Sam’s mind. He had smelt blood straight from a wound and even blood that was weeks old but nothing had ever smelt like this before. The scent was so thick he could practically taste it. He gagged on the stale air silently, still cautious of how much noise he was making.
The walls of the abandoned warehouse were painted a rusty brown and when Sam looked closer, he immediately shut his eyes, trying to repress his nausea- it was dried blood, caked on so thick it looked like paint. His grip on the machete in his hands tightened until his knuckles were a deathly white.
Get in. Take out the vamps. Get out. He repeated to himself as he continued his journey into the heart of the nest.
From what he and Dean had predicted there were, at most, 6 vamps in the nest. And while normally that number would constitute calling in backup, Sam’s rut was only a few days away so he had the strength of three grown (and frustrated) men so they went in alone.
Sunlight leaked through the boarded up windows, providing the only illumination to guide his way. Vaguely, he could hear his brother’s footsteps from the other side of the otherwise silent building. Soon, the hall opened up before him, revealing a huge room absolutely full of bodies, both dead and undead.
His heart pounded in his ears as panic quickly overtook him. Their calculations were very very wrong- there were close to a dozen vampires littered around the room, each with at least three drained corpses around them. His hazel eyes went wide as he caught sight of Dean, only now entering the room on the other side.
He saw as Dean’s chest hitched, the situation dawning on him. They made eye contact and with an almost investable nod to each other, then slowly began to back out of the room. Even with Sam’s temporary strength, there was no possible way they could kill that many vamps safely.
His whole body was tense, both rearing for a fight and ready to run at a moment’s notice.
Clang!
The pipe appeared from thin air, practically materialising before him just as Sam put his foot down. The metal spun away from him before he realised what was happening and slammed into the hollow siding of the hallway.
Everything froze and Sam held his breath. “Looks like we got some fresh meat boys!” He cursed under his breath and spun around just quickly enough to see the vamps rising to their feet, eyes blazing with bloodlust.
The plastic handle of his machete suddenly seemed incredibly slippery as Sam readjusted his grip on the weapon. They couldn’t kill this many vamps at once and they certainly couldn’t outrun them but they definitely weren’t going down without a fight.
Debris crunched under his heel as Sam planted his feet, his pupils contracted to a pin drop and his chest rumbled with a deep growl. His scent turned sour with his fury. “Bring it.”
His blade whistled as it slashed through the air, easily biting into the neck of the first vamp. Its head separated cleanly but Sam’s follow through was too long and quickly, the second darted towards him, razor sharp teeth bared.
With a snarl, he planted a hand on its chest and shoved the monster back, giving him just enough room to plant the blade into its shoulder. It howled in pain but continued to charge forward, yellowing fangs glinting in the low light.
Sam’s shoulder jerked as he pulled the blade back out but before he could complete a second swing, another vamp threw itself towards his legs, quickly knocking him off balance. Fear prickled across his skin as his back slammed into the metal wall. There was a crunch and then pain shot up his right shoulder.
He tried to curse but all that escaped him was a feral growl that echoed through the building. A bulk of the nest now crowded the hallway, each pushing and shoving, trying to get at the hunter. Fangs sliced into his calf as more hands grabbed at him, ripping the blade from his hold.
Just as his desperate struggle to get free seemed fruitless, light filled the hallway and the dark figure of a woman was silhouetted against the afternoon sun. The vamps barely had time to react to the burn of the light before her arm cocked back and she threw a pipe into the middle of the crowd.
As soon as the thick metal hit the dusty ground, it set off an explosion, sending thick almost black liquid all over them. It sunk into their flesh, spreading through them like molten lava. There was a moment where everything froze and then a sound erupted from the vamps.
They screamed in pain as they clawed at their skin. Suddenly Sam was free but it was not his blade that struck down the suffering vamps.
She moved with more grace than he ever thought possible, her own machete almost dancing through the air as she effortlessly operated their heads from their bodies. Within seconds, the warehouse was silent once more, leaving behind only the smell of blood and the most delicious scent Sam had smelled in his life.
Without a word, the hunter wiped her blade clean with the shirt of one of the vamps and slid it back into the sheath strapped to her plump thigh. “You hurt?” But all he could focus on was the little smear of blood on her full cheek, oh how badly did he want to reach out and wipe it away with his thumb.
Her eyebrows scrunched and gave him a once over. “That’s a pretty gnarly bite you got there, can you walk?” She reached a tentative hand to him, quite obviously taking note of the husky scent of his rut, and it was all Sam could do not to snatch it up and press his nose to the pulse point on her wrist.
She easily helped him back to his feet, laying a steadying touch on his toned stomach when he began to sway. His heart flipped and the world shrunk to just her. “Sammy!”
Her head turned to look where his brother’s voice had come, exposing her scent gland to the alpha who couldn’t help but take in a deep breath, eager for another whiff of what he thought his heaven smelled like. Old books, campfire, home.
“Sammy, huh?” She teased, the beginnings of a smile tugging at her lips. His knees buckled. Yet before he could come up with a semi-articulate response, Dean barrelled around the corner, eyes wide and full of fear.
The biting scent of adrenaline came off of him in waves and the mysterious woman immediately cringed, her nose scrunching. Anger flared in Sam’s belly, his alpha screamed at him to pull her away from whatever was causing her such discomfort, even if it was his brother.
As soon as Dean saw Sam, his body sagged with relief. “Shit that was a close one.” He groaned but quickly, his tone changed when he caught sight of the plump woman standing next to his brother. “I see you found a friend, a very attractive one. Dean Winchester, and that is my gigantor baby brother.”
He easily slid up to her, his green eyes hungrily tracing her soft curves before settling on her face. Sam knew that move, he had seen it hundreds of times before but it was only now that he had a problem with it. “Y/N. You boys should know better to take on a whole nest alone.”
Dean actually looked sheepish at her scolding and Sam’s alpha preened. “Strong omega. Perfect mate.” He purred.
“Well, we thought there were less. How the fuck did you kill all of ‘em so quick?” He looked around at the bodies in amazement, giving the one closest to him a kick. The skin where his boot touched crumbled into ash.
“Pipe bomb filled with blessed dead man’s blood.” She replied like it was obvious.
“Blessed?” Sam croaked out. Y/N shivered at the sound of his voice but quickly suppressed it as she spoke again.
“Like how you would bless holy water.” Dean nodded in approval, the hand holding his machete going slack as he forced himself to relax with the danger gone. But Sam still felt incredibly wound up, especially as his brother approached her.
“That was badass, for an omega that is.” Sam didn’t miss the way she flinched, however minute it was.
“Yeah.” She smoothly took a step back from him, her body twisting beautifully as she moved towards the exit. Unconsciously, Sam began to follow. He needed to be close to her, to soothe the ache in his chest.
Dean gave a quizzical look to his brother but he was ignored as Sam limped behind her, his alpha slowly stealing control from him, rut now dangerously close.
“So do you wanna go get a drink with us to celebrate, I think we owe you a round.” But she waved him off as she walked to her slightly busted up truck. He watched the way her hips swayed, the dark material of her jeans perfectly hugging her ass in a way that made Sam’s mouth go dry.
“Bars aren’t my thing. Maybe I’ll catch you another time. Try not to get yourselves killed.” Her machete is thrown into the passenger seat with far more force than necessary, making the hollow siding reverberate as she climbed in after it.
The engine roared to life, quickly breaking Sam from his trance. But before he could even take one step towards the truck, she was gone, leaving behind only echoes of her scent.
——————
She couldn’t stop thinking about that alpha no matter how hard she tried to forget him, even though it had been weeks since the unfortunate encounter. There was just something about the way his big hazel eyes had looked up at her as she saved his life or the sound of his voice. But most of all, his scent was almost seared into her mind, a delicious mixture of gunpowder, pine forest and chocolate.
Never in her life had she smelt something as good as that and it was slowly killing her. Alphas were dangerous, alpha hunters doubly so. They were violent and aggressive and more pigheaded than she ever thought possible, and they hated omegas.
Sure, they liked fucking them but they refused to claim them. Omegas were just rut bunnies, a tool to get off so they could go back to killing monsters. And an omega hunting? She had been laughed out of more hunter bars and backups than she could count. So it was best to just forget him, she didn’t think she could bear it if he was like the others, if he was like his brother.
Y/N swallowed thickly, her grip tightening on the steering wheel. Even his name was pretty, Sam like some guardian angel or an ancient warrior. He was strong and tall and packed with muscle. Her omega constantly reminded her of what a perfect mate he was, how he could provide for her and her pups, how safe he made her feel.
With every mile she drove away, her soul burned, urging her to turn the truck around and drive straight back to him. But her willpower was stronger… for now at least.
But until that day came, she would do what she did best- hunt.
——————
“C’mon Sammy, you’ve been sulking for weeks. She was just an omega!” Sam glared at his brother over top of his beer, the fifth of the night. He couldn’t just forget her, not when he had never met anyone like her before, not when the very thought of her made his heart clench and butterflies fill his stomach.
It had been easy to learn all about her from Bobby and Rufus. They both sung her praises, describing her as immensely intelligent and well versed in all sorts of lore as well as being cunning enough to escape a den of werewolves with only a screwdriver and a half-empty lighter. With every story they told and little fact they divulged, Sam fell even deeper in love with her.
She was an enigma of the best kind.
“You’re being an asshole Dean, what exactly does her presentation have to do with her value as a hunter?”
“Jesus Sammy.” Dean scoffed. “What crawled up your ass and died?” Sam rolled his eyes and stood from the old booth.
“I’m going back to the motel, text me if you aren’t coming back tonight.” He walked out of the bar before he could hear Dean’s protests.
The biting winter air calmed his anger some but that simmering disappointment in his brother was still there. Y/N was not just an omega yet for some fucking reason, no one else agreed. It made his blood boil.
Stuffing his hands into his jacket, Sam began the short walk back to the motel. A part of him wondered if Dean was right, they had only met once and it was for barely ten minutes before she was off again. But so much more of him wondered why she was gone, why they had never seen her before or even heard of her. She was a great hunter so why did no one call her for backup.
With his head down and lost in his thoughts, the tall hunter didn’t notice the familiar truck parked in the spot by his shared room until he almost walked right into it.
The tip of his boots stopped right before the back tire as he gazed at the vehicle in amazement. She was here. His eyes darted along the row of rooms, searching for any indication of where she might be. His pulse sped up as he finally caught a whiff of her dizzying scent.
His heart jumped as he realised that it was coming from the room right next to his, a coincidence that he would be eternally grateful for. Warmth bloomed from his chest as he cautiously raised his hand and knocked on the ancient looking door.
There was a shuffling from the other side and then slowly, the door creaked open. Sam groaned softly as a fresh wave of her scent washed over him. It was raw and overpowering and immediately went to his cock.
Her eyes were bleary with exhaustion as she looked at the alpha on her doorstep. “Sam?” His chest rumbled with a pleased sound at the way she said his name. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m in the room next door.” His eyes wandered down the length of her curvy body which was now only covered by an oversized shirt and some fluffy socks. One of her hands nervously tugged on the hem of the shirt in an attempt to cover more of her naked thighs.
She shuffled her feet nervously as if contemplating something before she stepped to the side. “You can come in if you want.”
There was not an ounce of hesitation in Sam’s mind as he stepped into her room. His chest puffed out in pride at being allowed to enter the omega’s space. She followed behind him after locking the door but still kept her distance. She was obviously wary of him and for the life of him, Sam couldn’t understand why.
An awkward silence settled over the pair, neither one of them knowing how to begin the conversation. She avoided making eye contact as the slightly older hunter forced himself to stop looking at her thick thighs.
“Why-“ “I-“ They both spoke at the same time. Y/N laughed softly under her breath and Sam watched as she finally relaxed, taking a seat at the edge of her bed. His own smile began to grow and took the liberty of sitting opposite her on the arm of the couch.
The room was so small that their knees were barely inches away from each other but neither wanted to move any further away. “Bobby said you had asked about me.” She said bluntly if not a little bashfully. A blush spread across Sam’s face and suddenly he felt incredibly small.
“Yeah I did.” He admitted. “I was curious about you.”
She tilted her head in confusion. “Why?”
Taking a deep breath, he rested his elbows onto his knees, making himself as small as he could. “You just… captured me, I’ve never met a hunter like you before and I couldn’t stop thinking about you. I wanted to know more.” She sat straight up as her eyes narrowed.
“You wanted to know how an omega could hunt.” She snarled.
“No! No, you being an omega has nothing to do with it. I asked Bobby because well, I couldn’t believe how clever you were. I mean come on, blessed blood? I don’t think anyone else has come up with that idea. You took out that whole nest by yourself!” He rushed to defend himself. He laid a large palm onto her knee as if that could drive his point home but all it really did was make his mind go blank except for the thought of just how soft her skin was.
Sam expected her to lurch from his touch but to his surprise, Y/N nudged her knee even closer to him, albeit slightly warily. “It wasn’t the whole nest.” She muttered shyly with her head tilted downwards, exposing her collar. Sam’s alpha grumbled happily at the submission but he swallowed the noise down, not wanting to make her uncomfortable.
“Even if it wasn’t, we- I would have been dead without you and that’s why I wanted to find you, to learn about you because I wanted to thank you and maybe, get to know you a bit more.” The expression on her face grew more pensive as she looked into his eyes.
“You don’t care that I’m an omega?”
“Well, I wouldn’t say that I don’t care about that, but that part has nothing to do with you hunting.” His fingers curled into her flesh, sending a fresh wave of her scent through the room. “You being an omega is far from a detriment in my eyes.” His voice dropped lower, becoming husky and laced with arousal.
Her thighs squeezed together, trapping his hand between her warm legs. Sam leaned forward even more, their foreheads almost touching. He watched as her gaze flicked to his lips. “You can’t mean that.” She whispered but it was directed at herself, as if she were trying to remind herself of something.
With his free hand, the alpha gently brushed his fingertips along her jaw before his palm settled against the soft swell of her cheek. “You’ll be like all the other alphas out there.” But still, she leaned closer, resting her forehead against his.
“I promise I’m not.” Her fingers tentatively worked their way into the buttons of his flannel and Sam’s heart skipped a beat. The silence that fell between them now was far from uncomfortable. Y/N took in a deep breath, swallowing down the alpha’s scent before she groaned quietly.
“You wouldn’t stop an omega from hunting?” Sam shook his head. “You wouldn’t force them to be subservient?”
“Never.” He vowed as his lips brushed against her cupid’s bow. Her chest hitched.
“What about claiming?” Sam’s hand skirted higher up her legs until the calloused tips of his fingers disappeared beneath her night shirt. Heat radiated from her core as slick soaked through her thin panties.
Sam was almost delirious with lust and apparently, Y/N was the same. Her pupils were blown wide, the blackness consuming the natural colour of her irises. “Hypothetically?” She nodded, knowing that this conversation was veering into far from hypothetical. “Only when they’re ready, and I will be fine if they never are.”
She smiled widely and just as she leaned forwards to kiss him, there came a pounding on the door. “Sam!! You in there?!” At the sound of Dean’s voice, she threw herself back as if she were a child getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
Sam actually whined as his hands were ripped from her skin. “Yeah Dean.” He growled, quickly standing and shielding her half-naked body through the door was still firmly shut.
“Sheriffs just found another body, we gotta move.” Y/N sat up on the bed, her interest now focused on the case.
“Was it the pawn shop owner’s wife?” She piped up.
There was a pause and then, “Y/N? Damn Sammy, you need an extra 10 minutes? Cause we definitely have time if you do.”
“Dean.” Sam warned, but the omega’s soft touch upon his hand stopped him in his tracks.
Y/N’s eyes blazed with a fire he had never seen before as she lifted herself from the now crumpled bed sheets. Her gaze was hard and firmly set upon the door as if she could see right through it to the idiotic alpha outside. Sam watched as the omega melted away and was replaced by the hardened hunter.
“Go. I’ll catch up with you two later. I have something to take care of.” Sam’s heart dropped to his stomach and he opened his mouth to protest, to insist that she come with them. Not because he thought she needed any sort of protection but that he didn’t think he could bear to be away from her for even a second. But then her glare settled on him.
He tried to turn his wrist to capture her hand in his but she pulled back from him quickly. “You should stay here, where you’re safe.”
He would never admit to it, but Sam cowered, shrinking in upon himself as Y/N’s lip turned downwards. “Go.” She snarled and before he could even comprehend what her sudden change in demeanour meant, Sam was out the door and his alpha howled with shame.
She rejected him and he had no clue how to fix it.
——————
Somehow, through the incredibly awkward tension and the less-than-perfect hunt, all three of the young hunters now found themselves in Bobby’s living room, a heavy air between them.
Y/N nursed a beer and a slightly swollen cheek as well as the angriest look on her face. Even Dean cringed away from her line of sight like a little boy escaping a scolding. “Any of you wanna tell me exactly what happened out there?”
Bobby shoved an ice pack into her awaiting hand before leaning against the desk at the far end of the room. “Just bone-headed alphas getting in my way.” She snarled and took a pull of her drink, her scent now bitter like stale coffee.
“Y/N, now’s not the time.” Bobby sighed, his head dropping between his shoulders. The omega turned her glare to him but he did not falter away like the boys did. “Hunts are always gonna be tough but you gotta work with the cards you’re dealt with and trust your partners. And these boys are the best you could ask for, alphas or not.”
Her growl echoed through the room before she slammed her beer down and stormed off. A bedroom door slammed shut soon after, rocking the foundations of the house. “That girl.” Bobby muttered, shaking his head mournfully.
Sam looked up the stairs longingly, part of him wanting to follow after her but also knowing that doing so might only worsen the already rocky relationship between them.
“What is her deal anyway?” Dean sat forward on the couch, planting his elbows onto his knees. Bobby’s hand curled around his tumbler of whisky, knuckles turning pale.
“You boys weren’t the only ones to grow up under the thumb of an obsessed hunter but the only difference between you is, she had both parents. Both alphas, both life-long hunters, and both believed that omegas were beneath them in every way. She was bait.”
Sam and Dean sucked in a breath, they both knew what that meant. Omegas would be stripped of all weapons or protective symbols and then sent into bars that vampires frequented or told to go for a walk in the woods where werewolf dens were. Their scent was the sweetest and the most appetising. Most of the time, the omega would make it out with minimal injuries but there were some hunters out there who would let whatever monster they were tracking down have a little treat before killing them.
“She got smart, learned how to gank monsters using whatever she could find and yet her parents took all the credit. They got lazy, letting her do the hunt while they went to go drink or do whatever the fuck else besides trying to protect their daughter. And one day, when she was recovering from a witch’s curse, they decided to get the hunt done themselves. They were slow and stupid. Y/N found them two days later, completely ripped apart. She’s been hunting alone ever since.”
“Shit.” Dean leaned back on the couch, running a hand through his cropped hair. “I figured she was just bitter about an ex or something. I- Sam!” The youngest Winchester sprang to his feet and before anyone could stop him, he pounded up the stairs and threw open her bedroom door.
Y/N sat against the headboard, eyes squeezed shut and chest heaving with barely controlled panic. Sam didn’t hesitate to yank her into his arms, forcing her face into the crook of his neck as he held her tightly. She thrashed against him, her warning snarls only ceasing when she finally inhaled his scent.
Tentatively, she placed her hands on his muscular back as Sam’s arms tightened around her shoulders, his head resting on top of her own. “You don’t need to worry anymore, omega. I’m right here.” Sam pressed his lips to the crown of her head, giving her a gentle kiss. “No one will ever hurt you again, not while I’m around.”
Her soft body slowly relaxed into him and the alpha could feel the weight being eased from her shoulders. “You can’t know that, it’s an impossible promise to make.”
Sam’s left hand slid up the soft curve of her arm, his fingertips gently brushing along her neck before settling on her jaw. He tilted her head up just enough so that she could meet his hazel eyes. His gaze flickered over her face, settling on her lips for a moment too long before finally looking longingly into her wide eyes.
“Because I will do everything in my power to keep you safe, happy and loved, no matter what.” Her breath hitched and for a moment, doubt crept into Sam’s mind. “Because you deserve so much more than what life has given you and I want to fix that.” He rushed to add on, hoping that she would not reject him once more.
But then, Y/N rocked forward and captured his lips in the best kiss of Sam’s life.
The world blurred around them as their lips danced together. Sam could taste the beer she had drunk but also something else- something that was just her. His hand fell to her neck making her moan loudly into his mouth as his thumb accidentally brushed against the raised skin of her scent gland.
His knees buckled as her scent suddenly filled through the room, emptying his mind of everything except her. Her nails dug into his back, the kiss quickly became something more.
“Wait wait wait.” Sam reluctantly ripped himself from her but she wasn’t letting go that easily. She pulled him back into another kiss which he was barely able to pull away from. “Wait babygirl. Are you sure you want to go any further?” His right hand, which she now realised was low on her back, the tips of his fingers brushed against the swell of her ass, pressed her further into his toned stomach.
Y/N whined trying to chase his lips but a warning growl from Sam had her obediently silent. “I need a clear answer, omega.” He raised an eyebrow at her.
“Please, I want you, all of you.” She managed to get out through the heavy lump of arousal in her throat. Sam smirked, his alpha preening at her desperation and her acceptance that he was hers. Yet he still did not kiss her again. Part of him wished for her to beg, to scream and cry for him after her rejection.
His thumb pressed down onto her scent gland, immediately making her eyes grow hazy. “Then prove it.”
Her hands flew to his belt buckle, trembling almost violently as she struggled to open it and gain access to what she was craving. She growled in frustration, ripping the leather apart Y/N was finally able to pull his dark jeans down enough for his cock to spring free, unburdened by any boxers.
Sam could barely hold back a groan as she moaned loudly at the sight of him. Her eyes flicked to his but quickly returned to the long and thick cock just a hair’s breadth away. The old hardwood groaned with the impact of her knees as she dropped in front of him. “Omega-“ He tried to say but suddenly her mouth was on him.
A saltiness exploded on her tongue as Y/N licked up his tip, lapping at the pre-cum that was already gathered there. She mewled, eager for more of the alpha in her mouth. Her lips pulled tighter with each inch she swallowed down, her jaw already beginning to ache even though she had barely taken half of him down her throat.
Sam’s hands balled into fists, his knuckles paling with the force. He watched with bated breath as the omega’s eyes hardened and she forced down even more of his cock. “Babygirl- fuck- slow down.” Now he was the one begging but she refused to listen.
She pulled back slightly, just enough that the fat head of his cock rested on the back of her tongue and then she pressed forwards again, now able to brush the tip of her nose against the groomed thatch of hair on the base of his pelvis. Sam threw his head back and moaned loudly, his cock already throbbing with the edge of ecstasy.
“Omega stop.” Her movements ceased but he was still deep down her throat. Her eyes were wide with a questioning gaze, the colour of her irises completely swallowed up by her pupils. The room was thick with their scent, and had he been in the right mind, Sam would wonder if the two men downstairs could smell them.
Delicately, he cupped her hollowed out cheeks and dragged her from his cock. She whined in protest as she was ripped away from him and Sam couldn’t help but chuckle. “So good for me, so perfect. Can I take care of you now?” He cooed, rubbing his thumbs across the apple of her cheeks.
Her eyelids fluttered and she nodded enthusiastically.
She went limp in his arms as Sam pulled her to his feet, letting him guide her soft body back onto the creaky mattress easily. She bounced once, her tits jumping towards her chin with the movement though they were still confined by her bra.
Sam’s plaid slipped over his head quickly, followed by his undershirt, leaving him completely bare to the omega who was still fully dressed. Her thick thighs pressed together under the weight of his gaze, needing any sort of friction against her core or she felt she would go mad.
His touch was hot, even through the thick denim of her jeans, as he slowly crawled up the length of her body, absentmindedly kissing the little flashes of skin where her shirt had risen on her stomach, her wrists, her collarbone until he finally reached her lips once more.
He gripped a plump thigh in one hand, the other holding his huge body above her as they lazily kissed. His hips settled against hers, immediately fanning the flames of desire between the two. She wiggled beneath him, fingers desperately pulling at the buttons of her own flannel, bumping into his hard chest with each unsuccessful attempt.
Sam let his hand drift from her thigh to the button of her jeans, popping it open with a calm ease that made her omega preen. Long fingers slid into her pants, immediately finding her panties completely soaked through with slick. As soon as his rough fingertips brushed against her covered clit, Y/N threw her head back and howled, her hips canting up to chase his touch.
With her neck now exposed, his lips found their way to her hot skin, nipping and sucking as his fingers pushed her panties to the side. Nails dug into the strong muscles of his back as he gently traced the length of her. “So wet for me. I’ll make you feel so good, omega.”
Before she could even take a breath, her pants were ripped down her legs along with her panties and discarded across the room. Sam’s eyes were fixated on the apex of her thighs, hungrily licking his lips at the sight of her laid out before him.
Without any warning, he dove in as if he could no longer stop himself. Pleasure shot up her spine in a way she had never before experienced. Sam nosed at her clit, groaning happily as more slick poured from her. He tried to be gentle at first, to ease his way into her but as soon as she clenched tightly around his tongue, Sam knew that there was no going back, that he would do this every day, multiple times a day if it were up to him, for the rest of their lives.
“Sam!” She cried, her hips bucking from the bed, making the old bed springs scream in protest with the sudden movement. Sam growled into her cunt, the vibrations sending a mind-numbing spark through her body, and grabbed her wide hips to keep her pinned down. Now unable to escape his mouth, Y/N was forced to feel every stroke of his tongue and each flick of his large nose against her clit. It was overwhelming, overpowering and tortuous in all the best ways.
The edges of her mind were beginning to go fuzzy just as small black dots grew in her vision. She grabbed at his hands, their fingers intertwined as she held them to her covered chest, desperate for more of the alpha’s touch like she could never get enough of him. Sam’s head bobbed with each furious thrust of his tongue, lapping up everything she was giving him. Her chest heaved as she struggled to breathe. Her body strung tight with her impending release but still it did not cum.
She lifted her head from the pillows and opened her mouth to beg the alpha to cum but instead, she saw how he was nestled between her thighs, his own body tightly pressed to the bed sheets as his lean hips rolled down. He was humping the bed, furiously so, all because of her taste.
The omega shattered in his arms, her orgasm washing over her like nothing before. She was silent only for a moment, too washed out in pleasure to make a sound but then, she screamed. Her cum coated his tongue and Sam couldn’t stop his own orgasm from slamming into him- her sounds, her taste, her warmth, it was all too much for him and the alpha spilled himself onto the moth-eaten duvet cover.
“Alpha.” She sobbed, her soft arms reaching out to him. “Wan your knot!” Part of Sam winced at her tears but his alpha was howling in pride at leaving the omega a desperate puddle of lust and need for him. He wrapped her up in a comforting embrace, twisting both their bodies so that she could lay mostly on top of him.
“Shhh omega. You will get it, but not today.” She stiffened in his hold but he was quick to reassure her.
“I want to earn it, your trust and your mark.” He smiled and kissed her softly, cupping her jaw in one massive hand. “Let me work for it, please.”
Her shy smile knocked the breath from his lungs, her eyes shining with the beginnings of love. “Yeah okay.” Sam relaxed back into the bed, deliriously happy as Y/N laid her head on his bare chest, hand over the heart that beat only for her.

Pack Masterlist
So, I didn't really mean to start a new series when a scene came to me, but we're at over 8k words in the doc now so it's pretty official that I have, in fact, started a new series...
Pairing: Alpha!Dean Winchester x Omega!Reader, Alpha!Sam Winchester x Omega!Madison (the werewolf from season 2 "Heart" 😆)
Note: This is not a poly fic but I will be leaning into Pack dynamics where Pack members seek comfort in physical contact with other Pack members. So if you're after something poly you could probably read that into some subtext here, but if you're not into that then don't worry.
Series summary: Omega!Reader is thrown into a world she's not expecting when her mate turns out to be a hunter, and she's not used to Alpha & Omega Pack dynamics.
Warnings: canon-level violence, probably a bit of smut, A/B/O dynamics, there will be hugging and sleeping with (literal sleeping, not sex) Pack members who are not your mate. Individual chapters will carry their own warnings.

The rain was heavy. Heavy enough that I shouldn’t have been out in it but I sometimes think that the universe meant for me to be there.
Storms aren’t unusual here. It was one of the first things I noticed when I moved to my remote little hideaway in the mountains, how they seemed to have their own weather system. I’d expected it to be a different change of pace to the city, but I underestimated just how different it would be. That first night, surrounded by my boxed up belongings, I experienced real nighttime - the silence that was only disturbed by animals or the wind through the leaves, and the darkness that was never ending, producing unmatched views of the stars above the trees.
I loved it. I didn’t sleep that night because I was amazed by it all. I still love it.
It wasn’t complete isolation, of course. Further down in the valley there was a ranch, managed by a friendly family with adult children, and not two miles from my cabin, there was an identical one, owned and lived in by Mr. Collins. I think he’s a professor of something but he’s not the chattiest. I sometimes pick up supplies for him from town, just to help out, like a good neighbor, and also because he’s old as fuck and the thought of him driving the beat up rusted truck in his driveway makes me very anxious. He does sometimes, I think, but for the most part, I see him listening to the radio on his porch. The closest town is Harperville, about twenty miles away, just a handful of houses and farms, but big enough and close enough to the freeway to have a Walmart.
These mountains don’t get many visitors. There aren’t any big animals, nothing hunters would find interesting, and though there are some good hiking trails and fishing spots, it’s not easily accessible. Only one road cuts through, and in storms like this, it’s mostly flooded.
That’s how I met him.
I was on my way back from my weekly trip into town for groceries when the heavens opened. The road was already filling with water when I turned onto the single road through the mountains, so I took it slowly, wary of the various potholes the water was now concealing. My truck was pretty high off the ground, high enough that I needed a little step ladder on the side to even get in, but I still wasn’t taking the risk.
The trees thickened up quickly as I headed up the mountain, and the rain kept coming down, making it nearly impossible to see. I leaned forward as I clasped the wheel, trying to focus through the windshield, cascading water impairing my vision. The red brake lights were the first hint I had of another vehicle and as I drove closer, I realized that whoever it was had broken down.
Slowing, I looked around, trying to spot the owner of the car in the rain. It was still daylight, but in the thick of the trees, visibility wasn’t great, so I knew I had two options - try and find and maybe help whoever it was, or keep on driving and leave them to the elements.
I’m not hardwired to walk away from someone who needs help. My mom always used to say it was because of the Omega in me, but I hate to think that being a good person is dependent on your genetics. Leaving someone to suffer wasn’t in me, and besides, I carried protection for this sort of thing.
Putting the truck in park, I flicked my hazards on, though it was unlikely anyone would come up this way. It was unusual enough that this person, or persons, were there. I reached underneath the seat, pulling out the Beretta I kept there. It wasn’t loaded - I had the ammo, I just felt like the threat of being shot would be enough to get me out of any trouble I found. I wasn’t a huge fan of guns, but I recognized the need to protect myself.
The door clicked open as I pushed it, and rain immediately poured onto my legs. Sliding down onto the ground, I held the gun behind my back as I approached the car, looking around for any would-be attackers. The driver's side door opened as I got closer, so I stopped, waiting for whoever it was to emerge.
In the five years I’d been living my near-solitary existence, I’d never met an Alpha. The cities were full of them, hell, they were half the reason I moved away somewhere like Harperville.
He was tall, taller than any man I’d known before, well over six feet. His hair was long, plastered to his skull in seconds by the downpour, a few strands escaping to cling to his face. I didn’t know what to make of him once I got a good look at his features; I don’t think I’d ever met a man so handsome.
“Hi,” he said, almost sheepishly.
It took a second to find my voice. Sounds stupid, being awestruck by such a beautiful man, but I’ll admit, he really had me completely turned around for a moment. “Hi,” I finally replied, making sure to keep my weapon out of sight. “Breakdown?”
“Uh, yeah,” the Alpha chuckled, scratching at his face with a grin. “Can’t get a signal either.”
The rain was starting to ease off, but it was still loud on the poorly maintained tarmac. I stepped closer, trusting my instincts - I didn’t feel like I had anything to fear from him, which was something I should have paid attention to. “You won’t get one up here,” I informed him carefully. “There’s no getting back into town until the storm’s passed.”
“Damn,” he grunted, shoulders dropping. “Just my luck.”
I knew it was a stupid idea before I’d said it but that didn’t stop my dumbass mouth pumping the words out anyway. “I live just up a little further, you’re welcome to dry out at mine and use the landline.”
His features were even more attractive when he smiled, showcasing gorgeous dimples. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear his eyes literally sparkled. Either that or I need to lay off the romance novels. He nodded enthusiastically at my offer, wringing his hands as he came a little closer.
“That would be awesome.”
“Uh,” I glanced back, wondering if I should suggest pushing his car off the road, “hmm.”
“What?” he asked.
“You think we can push it off the road?”
“I think so.”
The rain didn’t help. I didn’t have a wealth of experience pushing cars anywhere but the Alpha had some strength behind him. Within a few minutes we had the car as far onto the verge as it could go, safely away from any possible traffic that could collide with it. I doubted anyone would be driving up this way but still, better safe than sorry.
Getting back into the truck was a relief and I managed to slide the gun back underneath the seat before he saw. I was soaked through, him too, and so far the rain had done a good job of blocking his scent. He reached his hand out, the movement sending a wave of his scent in my direction, and when I took his hand, I managed to make eye contact, getting caught in the myriad of colors in his eyes.
“I’m Sam,” he introduced himself, and I swallowed down the nervous ball that suddenly clogged my throat. I could smell melted chocolate and fresh cut grass, and all at once I felt warm and safe, despite how drenched I was.
Muttering my name, I practically snatched my hand back. “I don’t live far,” I added.
“Thank you,” he replied. “Not many people would stop and help a stranger. Let alone an Alpha.”
I smiled at him, turning the truck ignition. “That’s half the problem with the world today, right?”
Sam grinned back. “I guess it is.”
The rain was getting heavier again as I guided the truck up the road to my cabin, and when I parked up, I glanced at the backseat, full of groceries from the trip to town. Sam followed my line of sight, smiling when he looked back at me. “You mind giving me a hand?” I asked.
He nodded. “Least I can do.”
Apparently, Sam could carry in one trip what I would manage in three, so getting the bags inside took no time at all. I directed him to the phone and the phone book beside it, letting him know it was okay to call anyone he needed, and then left him to it while I cleared away the bags. By the time I was done, he was in the kitchen, a displeased expression on his face.
“No joy?” I asked, though I knew that Jerry’s Autoshop in Harperville would be closed by this time, and Jerry was usually pretty blunt about saying no.
“Not with a tow,” he sighed. “I managed to get ahold of my brother and let him know I wasn’t dead.”
“That’s something I guess,” I shrugged. “You want a coffee or anything?”
“Coffee would be great. Black, no sugar.”
I gestured to the small breakfast bar on one side of the kitchen, and he smiled his thanks, taking a seat and laying his now-useless cellphone on the counter. “I gotta ask,” I chuckled, “why are you all the way out here? The freeway is much quicker than going through the mountains.”
“Not a fan of the freeway,” he said softly. “Besides, it’s a nicer drive, y’know? When it’s not raining.” I laughed at that, nodding agreement. “Can I ask you something?”
I knew what was coming so I kept on with what I was doing, flicking the coffee pot on and turning to look at him. “Sure.”
“You’re an Omega,” he stated. I nodded. “Don’t Omegas usually live with someone? Like family o-or -”
“I did,” I answered gently. “Now I don’t.”
“Isn’t that… dangerous?”
The concern on his face was unreal, and I couldn’t help but laugh lightly, shaking my head. “I can protect myself,” I assured him. “Besides, it’s really not that dangerous to live alone. Or are you assuming that because I’m an Omega I’m weak or something?”
“Not at all,” he spluttered, clasping his hands together. “Sorry, I guess that was kinda rude. Just… you’re not like any other Omega I’ve met.”
“Why would I be?” I was teasing him now, mainly because he was downright adorable when he got all flummoxed. The tips of his ears were red, and he couldn’t even look at me straight. It was almost like torturing someone. “Relax, Sam, I’m playing. I know there’s a certain,” I sighed, trying to think of the word, “way Omegas are supposed to be. I’m just not that kind of Omega.”
“So I don’t have to worry about an Alpha appearing to kick my ass?”
His questions clicked. He was trying not to ask outright, but he had assumed I wasn’t a lonesome Omega. The assumption made my jaw tick because I hated when people thought Omegas couldn’t be perfectly fine and functioning without a knot to keep them happy, but that was just society. Sam was another conditioned product of society, just like I was before I left it all behind.
“No,” I said quietly. “Never needed one.”
That was a lie. I had needed one, once upon a time, and I would have hung the moon for him. He was my highschool sweetheart, Scott Tuckerson, and an eighteen year old, newly-presented me thought he was the one I’d be with for the rest of my life. Turned out he wasn’t so keen, but he stuck around long enough to pop my cherry then break my heart.
“What about you?” I asked suddenly, frowning a little when I realized how calm and collected he was. From my experience, Alphas around unmated Omegas were like cartoon coyotes, slobbering and grabbing at whatever they could get. If Sam had an Omega, that would explain how composed he was, though I hadn’t seen any claim mark on his throat. Maybe they didn’t reciprocate, or maybe they bit him somewhere else. It wasn’t unheard of.
“Uh, no, no Omega,” he murmured, staring at his hands.
“Huh.” The coffee pot dinged and the sound startled me for a second, making me do a little hop on the spot. Sheepishly, I turned away to hide my face, keeping my back to him as I fixed our drinks. When I carried his cup over and placed it in front of him, he smiled at me, and I smiled back without thinking, letting his warm and comforting scent lull me for just a second. The realization of what was happening sank in like a complete reset, leaving me standing there doing nothing but staring blankly, until Sam frowned.
“You okay?”
“What?” I must have looked like an idiot. Grinning at him, I shook my head. “Nothing, just something I forgot. Suddenly remembered.”
“Oh, what?”
I couldn’t think of anything. Shit. “Nothing important.” My brain fired off a suggestion. “I left some firewood uncovered. I’ll need to dry it out now.” Hi. My name is Y/N. I’m a bumbling numbskull. Backing up, I went for my own coffee, trying to appear casual. “So you were going to visit your brother?”
Sam nodded, sipping at his coffee before answering. “No, I was away for work,” the way he spoke was hesitant, and my mind instantly wanted to know what work entailed, “on my way back home.” He paused, and I opened my mouth to ask where home was, only for him to beat me to it. “Kansas,” he supplied, sipping his too-hot coffee again.
“That’s a long way for work,” I commented, hoping it would get more out of him.
“Yeah, I guess. It takes us all over.”
I could see I was going to have to be blunt about it. “What do you do?”
“Freelance investigator.” It came out so quickly and so smoothly that I blinked, unsure what exactly that would encompass. What did he investigate?
“Sounds interesting.”
“Not really.” The awkward silence stage was looming, though it seemed like Sam wanted to avoid that as much as I did. “What about you?”
“Me?” I hummed, wondering suddenly if I was being too open with this strange Alpha. “I work remotely. Editing. And it’s as boring as it sounds. Pays pretty good though.” Internally, I cringed. That probably was too much information.
Sam seemed interested, sitting a little straighter. “Editing? Like, for a publisher?”
“Anything really. I’ve worked with fiction, non-fiction. One year I did nothing but high school textbooks.” I chuckled, shaking my head. “Now I do sound boring.”
“Hey, boring can be good,” he argued. “Safe.”
It was an odd choice of word but I didn’t say anything, sliding onto one of the stools opposite him. The rain was still coming down outside, pattering loudly against the windows. “This could go for a couple of hours,” I mumbled apologetically.
His smile was fixed on me when I looked back at him, and it created a warm feeling in my stomach that I wasn’t entirely sure of. Still, I smiled back, unintentionally bathing in his scent.
He picked up his cup again, blowing on it lightly, eyes still on me. “I’m sure we can pass the time.”
It became apparent several hours later, when the storm hadn’t let up, and Jerry’s definitely wouldn’t be answering, that I was to entertain a guest for the evening. I wasn’t concerned by that point; Sam had shown himself to be a gentleman, an intelligent one at that, and I was more worried about the fact that I was enjoying his company. He was happy to take my moderately-sized couch for the night, and once I’d cooked dinner for us both, I escaped to my bedroom, trying desperately to breathe through my mouth so I didn’t intoxicate myself with his scent.
Naturally, none of my online friends were available for my crisis, so I ended up watching Netflix until I dozed off. Sam didn’t disturb me for anything, and I didn’t hear him moving around, but still, sleeping with a strange Alpha in the house had me restless.
I woke up when my phone started to play my usual morning jingle, and when I emerged from the bedroom, I was surprised to find Sam gone. All the blankets I’d supplied were folded and piled neatly on the couch, with a note delicately perched on top. I grabbed it, scanning the words.
Thank you for the rescue. Sam. W.
Pulling a face, I looked towards the door. He’d obviously woken early and called Jerry again, but I felt a little put out that he hadn't stuck around to say thanks in person.
Maybe it was for the best.
Over the next few days I put Sam out of my mind, during the day at least. My dreams didn’t quite get the memo, conjuring up intricate fantasies that seemed to linger in the morning. It seemed easier to keep busy rather than dwell on an Alpha I was likely to never see again, so I threw myself into work and chores, avoiding chances to think too much.
I wasn’t expecting him to show up again, a week later, wandering up my driveway. He was wearing a red plaid flannel this time, and I had to admit, it was definitely his color. Finishing up with the tomato plants I was repotting, I brushed the dirt from my gloves and removed them, stepping around the beds to the small gate of the fenced off garden.
“Wasn’t expecting to see you again,” I greeted, not bothering to keep the smile off of my face.
He returned it, shoving his hands in his pockets as he came to a stop only a few steps away from me. “Well, I wanted to thank you,” he chuckled, rocking on his heels. “And I wanted to check out the scenery in better weather.”
I couldn’t help but feel there was an innuendo there somewhere, or maybe it was my inner-twelve-year-old. “Is it worth it?” I asked daringly, arching an eyebrow at him.
Sam grinned. “Definitely.”
“It’s a long drive from Kansas just for the view. Wanna join me for some lunch?”
In hindsight, I should have realized I was already smitten. Sam was gorgeous, smart, funny, everything an Omega could ever dream of in a mate. I was breaking my golden rule but for some reason, I couldn’t bring myself to care. The man had driven twelve hours just to say thanks, the least I could was offer him lunch.
He only stayed for a few hours, leaving before dark. I assumed he’d parked on the main road and walked up but shortly before his departure, a black Impala - not the same car he’d broken down in - drove slowly up to the cabin. The man driving it was his brother, he informed me, though Dean didn’t get out to introduce himself.
I invited him back without even thinking about it. Three weeks in a row, he showed up at my door, and we ate lunch, talking about everything from politics to ancient history, though he remained cagey on details. I thought about it a lot in between visits, wondering if he had trust issues, trying to keep my thoughts away from darker truths he could be hiding.
When the week after his last visit rolled by and he didn’t show up again, I started to worry. He hadn’t left a number or even an address, and though he hadn’t come out and said it, I knew his job was a dangerous one. A week turned into ten days, and I was already at the point of imagining all sorts, wondering if it was better he never showed again considering how attached I’d become in such a short amount of time.
Thirteen days after we had lunch, he finally showed up, knocking on the door when I was watching movies on the couch. I wasn’t prepared for the relief I felt when I saw him, or the way I threw myself at him to hug him.
He was hurt. There was no missing the way he was holding his arm against his side, or the wince when I finally pulled away to look up at him. “I-I was worried,” I stuttered, a little embarrassed by my reaction. “You’re hurt.”
“I’m okay, I promise,” he murmured, giving me a half-smile that was slightly less than reassuring. “May I come in?”
I stepped back, opening my home to him again. He stepped in awkwardly, leaning heavily on his right side. “What happened?”
He sighed, and I shut the door, keeping a good distance between us. “I want to tell you the truth,” he finally said, “but I don’t wanna scare you, and I don’t want to lie to you either. All I can say is that there are things out there you wouldn’t believe and it’s my job to deal with them.”
My mind raced, piecing together everything he’d told me, unsure what was true and what wasn’t. I wanted to know everything, but it didn’t feel like Sam was about to tell me anything more than what I needed to know. Remaining by the door, I watched him for a moment, chewing the inside of my cheek.
“Need to know?” I asked hesitantly.
He nodded. “I promise, if you need to know anything… I won’t lie to you.”
Clasping my hands in front of me, I exhaled with a slow nod. “Okay.” I needed something else to focus on. “Lunch?”
Confusion landed on his features. “That’s it?”
“What’s it?”
“Most people don’t let something go like that.”
I smiled. “I’m not most people, remember? I trust you. If you wanted to murder me in my sleep, you would have done it already. If you tell me that I don’t need to know some things, then I can accept that.” He still looked confused, so I stepped towards him, attempting to redirect his attention. “So do you want lunch or not?”
This time when he left, I made him leave a number and an email, seeing as my cell didn’t always get texts through. I sent an email just to test it, getting an answer back within the hour, and from there we didn’t stop. Each ping on my laptop made me giddy, and I should have been at least mildly disgusted by the way I swooned over every message, but I wasn’t.
Sam was nothing like any Alpha I’d ever met. Around him I felt something like a belonging, always surrounded by that safe, calming feeling his scent gave me. There was no pressure for anything more, and that was beginning to make me want more.
Summer came and went. Sam’s visits weren’t always weekly; occasionally his job would take him too far away to return in time, though it was never that long between lunches. He never stayed the night, and never more than a few hours, which made it far easier to schedule his visits around my heats. I was nervous about whatever the next step was, but happier than I’d ever been to just roll with it.
Sometime in late September, he stopped answering my emails. His phone went straight to voicemail, and after a week had passed with no contact, I started to worry. I called the other number he’d given me, belonging to Dean, and when that had no answer, I turned to the internet.
I was not expecting what I found. I’d never Googled anyone before - never seen the need - so when the search engine dragged up more than a dozen pages about “Sam Winchester”, I was shocked to see several of them were for old arrest warrants, and two were reports of his alleged death. Reading through each one, I quickly fell into a rabbit hole, and when I found a set of books called “Supernatural” under one of the results, I couldn’t help but take a peek.
It was three am before I stopped. My mind was overloaded with information, fictional or not, I didn’t know, but I was overwhelmed. I couldn’t sleep, though it wasn’t entirely down to what I’d found; my concern for Sam’s wellbeing was beginning to outweigh that.
Four days later, I still hadn’t heard anything, and my heat was starting. I left one last voicemail on his cell, asking him to email me, then hid myself away in my comfiest pajamas to suffer through the next few days.
I only managed a few hours of sleep before there was a loud knock on the door of the cabin. Groggy and sweating like I’d run a marathon, I stumbled out of my room, not even guessing who could have been calling. It was still light out, and I squinted in the bright sunshine as I reached for the front door, opening it slowly.
Sam was on the other side. His face was bruised, and a bloody gash sat across the bridge of his nose. I stared up at him, confused by his appearance, disorientated by the flood of hormones in my system. “Sam?”
“Y/N,” he murmured, sounding relieved.
“What happened to you?” I croaked, clinging to the door for support. “You stopped answering - didn’t you get my voicemail?”
“I did,” he replied, “but my laptop’s busted and I was worried - you sounded, uh,” he scented the air, eyes widening and pupils dilating, “shit. You’re in heat.”
“Getting there anyway,” I muttered, shivering in my pajamas. They were beginning to get itchy, too much fabric on my skin. This part of my cycle was the worst, I hated things touching me, feeling too hot when they did. “It’s probably n-not -” My stomach twisted, and I yelped, letting go of the door to clutch my middle.
Sam’s hand brushed my shoulder. “You okay?”
“I’m fine,” I gasped, shaking my head as his scent filled my nose. My whole body was vibrating towards him, and when the back of his hand pressed against my forehead, I practically cooed, leaning into the touch.
“You’re really warm.”
I sucked in a breath through my mouth, trying not to grab his hand when he pulled away. “Standard symptoms.”
“Do you want me to leave?”
My jaw dropped, but no sound came out, because I didn’t have an answer for him. I knew the smart thing was to send him away, let him come back when I was done with my heat. Letting him stay, letting him in, would only lead to one thing.
It was getting harder to remember why that was a bad thing.
“Y/N?”
Sam was staring at me, the expression on his face almost identical to one of his wanted posters. I remembered what I’d found, and it was enough to let the discomfort fade for just a second. “I need to know something,” I said softly, trying to stand a little straighter. “When you didn’t answer, I wanted to check you, uh, weren’t dead or anything. So I Googled you.”
The color drained from his face in a manner that would have been almost comical if I hadn’t read what I read online. He swallowed hard, opening and closing his mouth as he obviously attempted to say something. “Wh-what did you find?”
“A lot of weird shit,” I laughed, because it had been fucking weird. I hadn’t even read all of the Supernatural books - a chat forum had led me from those to apparent real life witness accounts that placed Sam and his brother in the vicinity of all sorts of crazy.
“Can you be specific?”
He looked so serious. I tilted my head, curious now about what he hadn’t wanted to lie to me about. “I found police reports, arrest warrants. Death certificates,” I told him. “And I found a lot of people who said you saved them.” Sam nodded, breaking eye contact, looking at the floor. “I also found these books -”
A groan left him. “Oh god, no -”
“Oh my god.” His gaze lifted to meet mine at my soft exclamation. “It’s all true, isn’t it? Everything in those books, online…”
He attempted a smile. “I said I never wanted to lie to you.”
“I’m not asking you to,” I snapped. “I spent the whole night reading about demons, angels, vampires, and an Alpha who can come back from the dead. They had autopsy reports on you, Sam! You’re like an urban legend.”
His shoulders sagged. “I’m a hunter.”
“Yeah, the books covered that.” I folded my arms across my chest. “Sounds like a lonely life.”
He chuckled, shoving his hands into his pockets again. “Sometimes. I got my brother.”
“I don’t want you to leave,” I confessed quietly. “I… I never needed an Alpha, you know? But now…”
“Now what?”
I met his gaze, smiling with a tiny shrug. “Now I kinda want one.”
“Just “one”?” he teased.
“You,” I confirmed shyly. “But I need to know some things first. It’s a little late for lunch. Dinner?”
“Only if you let me cook,” he accepted. “You can supervise from the couch.”
Sam was a good cook, I had to admit, even with my limited selection of foods. While we ate, I asked questions, mostly about the things I’d read online, and he was honest with me, opening my eyes to even more truths I’d been missing about the world. It was scary, thinking about the stuff he faced out there, but it made sense now I knew him; he was a hero, though he obviously didn’t think as highly of himself.
Eventually, I knew we had to discuss the matter at hand. My scent was getting thicker with every passing minute, and Sam’s was beginning to mingle with it. I knew when I let him in that it was unlikely he’d leave without the inevitable happening between us, but I wasn’t afraid of it.
When we were done eating, he cleaned up, even doing the dishes as I remained on the couch, watching him with one arm slung over the back. He worked quietly and quickly, and I couldn’t help admiring his rear profile. My mind easily wandered, and my body responded to my filthy thoughts.
Sam was almost done when he smelled it. His whole body went rigid, and I heard him sniff lightly. Sinking down into the cushions, I bit my lip just to stop myself from whining needily. I wasn’t surprised by strong heats these days - getting older without a mate naturally made it worse - but the force of the arousal I was feeling right then was nothing like I’d felt before.
I heard the sink drain, and then Sam’s footsteps came towards me. He cast a shadow over the couch, and I looked up at him, resisting the urge to reach up and grab him.
“It’s getting worse?” he asked, voice a little thick.
“Mmhmm.”
“Do you want me to go?”
If I asked him to, I believed he would. But I didn’t want him to. “No,” I stuttered.
He exhaled softly, walking around the couch to where my feet rested on the cushions. Lifting them by my ankles, he sat down, placing them on his lap before looking at me again. “We should really have a conversation about this,” he muttered, stroking his thumb over my bare ankle. I was certain such a simple touch shouldn’t have set my pussy on fire but I’d been certain of a lot of things that turned out to be wrong. “I nearly had an Omega before.” The confession made me freeze. “Her name was Jess.”
I was almost afraid to ask. “Wh-what happened to her?”
“She died. A long time ago. I never marked her… never got that far.”
“I’m sorry,” I whispered, lost for anything else I could say. I had very little experience with grief, something I was grateful for. “What was she like?”
Sam smiled. “She was beautiful. Smart. Funny. Confident.” He sighed, locking his eyes on mine. “She died because of me, because of the life I lived.” His thumb stopped, and I swallowed nervously. “I want you, Y/N. I want you so bad that I dream about it. But I’m scared - terrified - that I could lead something here, to you, and if anything happened to you -”
I shook my head, sitting up a little more, effectively snatching my feet out of his lap. “I can protect myself,” I reminded him.
“Not against demons,” he argued. “Not against angels, o-or vampires -”
“Then show me how.”
His eyes widened. “Y/N, this life is dangerous. I couldn’t drag you into it.”
“You’re not dragging me anywhere,” I replied, smirking at him. “This is my home, Sam. I like my independence. I don’t expect you to look after me.”
“Alphas are supposed to protect their Omegas,” he whispered.
I snorted unattractively. “Yes, and when that was relevant, Omegas couldn’t hold land or vote.”
He frowned. “Okay, point taken,” he conceded. “But that doesn’t mean I should leave you out here where you’re so isolated, anything could happen -”
“Newsflash,” I interrupted. “Anything can happen anytime. If I learn what to look out for, learn how to lay the, the -” Clicking my fingers, I tried to remember the word he’d used when he was describing their home.
“Warding,” he provided.
“Learn how to lay the warding… me staying here is no different to me staying at your bunker while you drive across the country.” I screwed up my face at the thought of so much time in a car. “And that doesn’t sound appealing either.” Looking over at the window, I noticed how dark it was. “Wow, it got late. Won’t, uh, won’t Dean be here to pick you up soon?”
Sam shrugged. “He booked a room at the Motel 6 near Walmart. Told me to call him whenever I was ready. I didn’t know you were gonna be…” He gestured towards me, and I smiled a little. “How are you feeling now?”
“Tired,” I yawned, resting my head on the back of the couch.
“Do you have a tv in your room?”
“I have a laptop.”
He chuckled. “That’ll do, I guess. I saw a bag of chocolate pretzels in the cupboard. You wanna take them in the bedroom and fall asleep to Lord Of The Rings?”
I grinned at him goofily. “You really are perfect.”
Whatever I was expecting from an Alpha in the bedroom, it wasn’t my favorite movies and snacks. Sam even kept his pants on, removing his upper layers and his boots, and he didn’t complain when I stole most of the blankets. He didn’t crowd my space either, even though it would have been difficult in my comfortably large bed. I curled up on my preferred side where I could comfortably see the screen at the bottom of the bed, and he kept to the other, though the distance did nothing to stop his scent from creeping over.
I fell asleep halfway through the Fellowship Of The Ring. It wasn’t unusual for the first day or two of my heat to leave me exhausted, just like it wasn’t unusual for me to be easily aroused, but having an Alpha nearby was making that an almost permanent state. My dreams reflected that need, and when I woke, the orcs were taking Merry and Pippin to Isengard, and I had soaked through my pajama bottoms.
I didn’t even think before I started to strip down, kicking off anything that touched my sensitive skin, and completely forgetting about the Alpha in my vicinity. His scent flared as I moved, and I froze halfway through dragging my shirt over my heart, meeting Sam’s slightly panicked gaze.
“Shit,” I blurted out. “I forgot you were here.”
He smiled, a nervous twitch at the corner of his mouth. “You shouldn’t have to be uncomfortable on my account,” he stuttered.
There was nothing to be done about my lower half, though my panties still covered most of my dignity, despite how wet they were. I could smell myself, and wondered what it was doing to Sam - it took pretty much all my willpower not to look at his crotch as I tugged my tee back down over my sports bra. “I just get really hot,” I mumbled, fixing my eyes on the tv screen again.
Sam chuckled again, shifting on the bed. “No need to explain,” he promised, gesturing to the laptop screen. “I started the next one. You seemed kinda out of it.”
I really hoped I wasn’t making noises. The thought of it made my insides twist with embarrassment. “Sorry.”
He smiled as he shook his head. “Seriously. I get it. I’ve had a rut or two. Dealing with that on a monthly basis must suck.”
“It turns into routine after a few years,” I shrugged, finding it difficult to find a comfortable position now I was awake. “I’ve had worse. Maybe you being here is helping.” Lifting my head, I looked at him again, surprised to find a soft frown on his face. “You know, your scent.”
“Makes sense.”
The movie was easily forgotten now I had looked at him again. I wanted to kiss him, to feel his lips against mine. There was only a few inches between us; it would be so easy just to lean in -
“You okay?”
His concerned voice seemed to jolt me out of a trance I hadn’t realized I was in. Caught staring, I grinned dopily, then moved to find a more comfortable position, narrowing the space between us. “Can’t get comfortable,” I complained, hearing his low chuckle in reply.
“Maybe I can help with that,” he offered, shifting on the pillows until he was propped against the headboard, one arm stretched out and just welcoming me into the curve of his body. I sat up, looking at him hesitantly with my bottom lip caught between my teeth. He flicked his hand, then nodded at the space. “If my scent’s helping…” he trailed off, obviously assuming I hadn’t understood.
But I had. This felt like a point of no return.
He jerked his chin up, but before he could say anything, I moved, carefully laying up against him, my head on his chest and my overheating body next to his. His arm dropped from above me, settling around my shoulders as a comfortable weight, almost familiar like it belonged there. I inhaled, tasting his scent on my tongue, letting it imprint in my mind.
“Better?” he asked.
“Yeah.”
It was difficult to concentrate on the movie when he was so warm right next to me. I was sure my knees were shaking, and I couldn’t keep my feet still. Sam’s hand dropped down after a while, his fingers stroking the bare skin below my sleeve, and it was sending shivers down my spine on every brush. My mind wandered, thinking about touching him back; my hand twitched with the urge to slide over the front of his jeans, and I could feel my heart racing.
He must have been able to smell it. It felt like there would be a wet patch underneath me if I moved.
“Y/N?”
I lifted my head to look up at him, freezing as soon as I realized how close my face was to his. “Yeah?” My voice came out raspy, so I cleared my throat as gently as I could. “Yes?”
“You’re shaking,” he whispered, cupping my cheek with one huge hand. His long fingers caught in my hair, and his palm was so warm against my cheek, I couldn’t resist the impulse to lean into it. “‘Mega.”
I’d never been called by that title with such desperation. I tipped my head back as he lowered his mouth to mine, and the kiss was just as thrilling as I expected. My heart pounded in my chest, and when he swept his tongue against my lips, I parted them, meeting him halfway as the kiss got deeper. The angle of my body was putting a strain on my muscles but I ignored it in favor of the taste of my Alpha, grabbing his shirt when I pulled away to snatch a breath.
“Is this okay?” he asked, nuzzling into me.
A stupid grin pulled at my face. “Yeah.”
He kissed me again, and this time, I had a little more bravado, cupping him through his jeans. He was already hard, thick under my palm, and when I squeezed him, he moaned into my mouth, thrusting his hips a little.
“Take the pants off,” I whispered, though I hated the thought of him pulling away. With a nod, he moved, so I took the opportunity to remove my t-shirt, tossing it in the general direction of the laundry basket. He was only halfway out of his jeans, shimmying them down his long legs, and I swallowed when I caught sight of the tent in his boxers. He stripped his shirt off too, and then returned to where he’d been, meeting my gaze almost shyly.
How could he be shy looking like that?
My mouth felt dry as I drank him in, noticing the black tattoo on his chest. Without thinking I reached out to brush my fingers against it, recognizing the design from things I’d seen online.
“It protects me from demon possession,” he explained hesitantly, like the information would scare me.
I should have been scared. But it was easier to shove what I’d learned aside to deal with it later, when there weren’t other, more pressing issues. When I pulled my hand back, he caught it, tugging me closer to kiss me again, and I let him sweep me away. I could barely separate my scent from his now, and I was yearning for more of him.
“Take this off,” he grunted, plucking at the elastic of my tatty bra. I didn’t stop to think, hauling the damn thing off and throwing it, uncaring where it landed. Sam’s hands were instantly on my bare tits, cupping and squeezing them, all the while demanding my attention with hungry kisses that left me breathless and dizzy.
We were horizontal now, and I could feel his erection poking into me through the damp cotton of his boxers. My instinct was to grind against him, and I went with it, drunk on arousal now, unable to think beyond having his bare skin on mine. I felt hot all over, and his touch was scorching, but I was craving it.
One big hand snaked around my hip, dragging me harder against him, and I shifted, lifting my leg to drape it over him, allowing his cock to rub right against my covered sex. He groaned, breaking the kiss to look at me with a lidded gaze, and I realized he was panting.
“If you want me to stop -” he started, but I cut him off, pressing one finger against his swollen lips.
“Don’t,” I whispered. “I don’t.”
He moaned, kissing me again, and the hand on my hip wandered down, long fingers stroking me through my panties. I whimpered, desperate for friction, desperate for anything, and that only made him touch me with more force. He rubbed along my pussy, pulling back to watch my face, and I knew what he wanted. A second later, my hips jerked, and I felt my face scrunch up at the sudden burst of pleasure where his fingertip had found my clit. He smiled, finding it easily this time, watching my expression dissolve as he rubbed the tiny bundle of nerves.
I shuddered in the cage of his arms, pinned against him. The stimulation was simultaneously too much and not enough - I wanted him inside me but it felt too good to stop him. I dug my nails into his shoulder, rocking my hips to expose myself a little more, and the plea for him to let me cum lingered on my lips. Sam seemed to know exactly what he was doing, and I couldn’t hope to stop the waves of pleasure that made my whole body tremble. The orgasm soaked through my panties, and my Alpha hummed as he felt the damp on his fingers.
His fingers moved, tugging my panties to the side, and I gasped as he circled my hole, teasing me by dipping into it. He was still watching me, biting his bottom lip as he sank the single digit in, stroking me from the inside. “You’re so tight,” he murmured, fucking his finger into me. “You’re not -”
“No,” I hummed, shaking my head. “But it’s been a long time.”
He smiled at that, leaning in to kiss the corner of my mouth. “I’ll be your last.”
My mind automatically provided a witty comment to his cheesy statement but it never made it out of my mouth. A second finger penetrated me, and I crumbled, clinging to him as I adjusted to the new stretch, biting back a cry as he worked both digits in and out, letting my pussy coat them. I could hear how wet I was, and on the coattails of my first climax, I was ready to skip the prep and let him take me.
“Sam -”
“Sssh, not yet,” he murmured. “Don’t wanna hurt you.”
I nodded, too afraid to speak in case I cried out. Every nerve in my body felt raw, like an electric current was running through me, and it felt so good, I was scared to lose control. Sam hummed, pulling his fingers out, and I instantly rolled onto my back, only to find my panties stripped down, and his fingers at my sex again, pushing my thighs apart. With more space, he pushed his fingers inside me again; I cried out, spreading my legs as he lowered his mouth to my breasts.
Between his fingers fucking me open and his tongue tormenting my aching nipples, I couldn’t focus. My heart thundered, and I couldn’t seem to breathe fast enough, twisting my hands in the sheets underneath me just to try and ground myself. I wanted to cum again, but letting it happen felt impossible.
“Cum for me again,” Sam urged, abandoning my tits to nuzzle at my cheek, “just once more, and I’ll give you what you want.”
I nodded, replaying his words over and over. His fingers twisted inside me, calloused pads dragging against my inner walls, and then his thumb brushed my clit, making me jerk in surprise. He chuckled, nose bumping against my jaw.
“Just let go,” he purred.
It was too much. I held my breath, biting my lip so hard it hurt, but it didn’t overwhelm the pleasure as I started to cum. Sam kept talking but it was far away and I was spinning, unable to process anything except the thick fingers inside me, my cunt clenching around them.
My head hit the pillow, and he withdrew, wiping his hand on his boxers. I kept my eyes closed, trying to calm my breathing - in through the nose, out through the mouth - but I could feel him beside me, feel his breath on my shoulder. “You okay?” he asked.
“You ask that a lot,” I mumbled, cracking one eye to look at him, then opening both. “I’m very good.”
He grinned. “Do you have anything in mind for what happens next?” I shrugged, because I hadn’t given it much thought beyond wanting his cock inside me. “Like… condom?”
“Oh.” Lifting up onto my elbows, I pouted. “I don’t have any but I’m on birth control.”
“I think I have one -” He made to move but I grabbed him to stop him.
“Don’t,” I whispered, shaking my head. “It’s okay, I trust you.” We were close again now, and I didn’t fight the urge to kiss him, pulling him as close as I could get. His boxers still covered him, so I dropped my hand, eager to get rid of them. My fingers slipped under the waistband easily, and I gasped when I wrapped my hand around him, a thrill running through me at how thick he was. He moaned at my touch, rutting into my hand lightly. “I just want you inside me,” I murmured, a bolder with the heat running through my veins.
Sam nodded, taking charge, pushing my hand away so he could remove his boxers. He coaxed me back until I was underneath him, his knees between mine, kissing me to distract me from the weight of his cock against my thigh. “I’m gonna knot you,” he warned quietly. I whimpered. “I’m gonna leave my mark here,” he added, dropping his head to nip at the column of my throat.
He was leaving room for any protest I might have had but I didn’t have one. I spread my legs willingly, watching hungrily as he got onto his knees and fisted his cock, thumbing the tip through my folds. He moved slowly, penetrating me with an agonizing pace, leaving me breathless with the stretch as he rocked into me.
“Fuck,” he gasped, finally burying himself, slumping forward to catch his weight on his hands either side of me. I met him in a kiss, wrapping my legs around him, wanting him as deep as possible, unwilling to ever let go of the blissful feeling of having him like this. There didn’t appear to be any rush on his part either, as he kept kissing me, his weight pinning me down.
The initial intensity faded, and he moved first, shallow thrusts to start. I yelped when he threw in a hard stroke, his cock hitting a point of intolerable ecstasy inside me; he grabbed my hip with one hand and shifted all his weight onto the other, picking up a harder pace. My body was accommodating him, and I could feel how wet I was as he started to withdraw a little further, slamming in a little harder.
I cried out, digging my nails into his shoulder, and he responded by burying his face in my throat, biting at the spot he’d marked earlier. Nipping became harder bites, and I slid my hand through his thick hair, inciting him further as I started to cum. My pussy clenched around him, and I felt his knot at the base - the thought of how he’d fill me was arousing enough that it spurred on my orgasm. Instinct led my nose to his throat, but I wasn’t expecting the next urge.
I wanted to mark him first.
Biting softly, I tested his reaction. His grip on me tightened, and his teeth at my throat got a little harder. I moaned, struggling to keep my mind on one track, clinging to him as he fucked me harder.
“Do it,” he grunted, right in my ear.
His knot was swelling. He was close. I shuddered, biting a little harder, almost scared to hurt him. He groaned and his knot popped, forced inside me with a hard thrust. My teeth sank through his skin, and as I tasted his blood, I started to cum again, feeling him bite me back as he filled me to the brim.
I needed to breathe. Releasing his throat, I pulled my head up and he released me, lifting onto his arms to look down at me. There was blood on his lips - mine - and I could still taste his on my tongue. He leaned down, kissing me softly, still rutting his hips though he couldn’t move far.
The movie hadn’t finished. The battle for Helm’s Deep had just begun, and I giggled when I realized the laptop was slightly further towards the end of the bed. Sam followed my line of sight, smirking when he noticed.
“We can restart it when we can, uh… move,” he suggested.
I giggled. “Maybe a different position next time?”
Several years later…
I had been anxious since I woke up. The mountains were clouded, thick fog filling the air, and it resembled my mood. Sam was supposed to be home today. It was the last time.
We’d made it work over the years. He was dedicated to something he couldn’t skip out on, and something I wasn’t keen on being a part of. I didn’t hide from the truth, but I also didn’t have the physical strength to slap a machete through someone’s neck because I wasn’t a hero. Sam detested the term, but it was what he was.
I’d nearly lost him half-a-dozen times. Angels, demons, gods, monsters, all of those things tried to take him from me. But every time, he’d walk away, and he’d come back, spending a night or two before another case pulled him from the cabin and back onto the road.
Things were different now. They’d been different since Sam and his brother defeated God himself, but that had only been the beginning of the change. Now, Sam had no call to the road. His brother was dead, laid to rest, and I was waiting for him.
The clouds started to clear in the afternoon, and I went for a nap, exhausted easily by the life growing inside me. A boy, or so Dr. Wentworth in Harperville tells me. All I could tell you was that the next four weeks couldn’t come quick enough.
I was woken by the sound of an engine, rumbling towards the house. My eagerness to see Sam made me move a little quicker than usual, and by the time I was out the front door, he was climbing out of the Impala, pausing with one hand on the roof as he gazed down at the driver’s side. I stopped on the porch, watching him, feeling the ache for his grief. He missed Dean. But he was honoring him now.
“Hey,” I called softly, waving to him, and he looked up as if he had only just noticed me, smiling. He closed the driver’s side door, opening the back for Miracle to jump out. The dog yapped, running up to the house, past me and inside, probably finding her bed after the long drive. Sam followed her, stopped at the step below me, smiling brightly. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah,” he murmured. “All locked up. Felt weird. It was home for so long…”
I knew he would miss the bunker but this was the start of something new. “This is your home, Sam,” I whispered softly. “It was just waiting for you.”
