Okay so they were courting before the KGB incident but Kyousuke distanced himself from Tomoe afterwards and that was their kinda/unofficial break up

But the courting bond was still there so neither one of them really felt the impulse to even date anyone else while they were apart

Tomoe takes after his dad (please ask me about Mama and Papa Yagami) so he stress bakes while he’s in America

The team nutritionist says she hates him but the yakisoba bread is just too good to pass up

Tomoe had omegas pitching themselves at him left, right, and center while he was in America. He turned them down as gently as he could

Tomoe still tried to keep in touch with Kyousuke but Kyou kept ignoring him

Tomoe’s coping mechanisms are stress baking, stride, and a stray cat

He kinda retreats in on himself

No-one knows who deserves more shit, Kyousuke for distancing himself or Tomoe for running away

Unfortunately, I only have 2. I can’t remember the other characters well enough to really classify them at this point (which just means that a rewatch is in ordering), but I’ll get back to you in that as soon as I can.

First

Tomoe Yagami had been a lot of firsts for Kyousuke. He was the first date that felt like something, he was the first ‘got-caught-by-family’, he was the first awkward stuttering mess to ever ask Kyousuke for more than a pen to borrow. He was the first alpha to last more than three weeks, the first alpha who lasted long enough to give Kyousuke a token.

And now, he was the first apha that Kyousuke had to leave during his heat. Before Tomoe it hadn’t been a problem, seeing as how most of the half-dozen alphas before him had always left when Kyousuke said they wouldn’t be spending that ‘special time of the month’ together. After all, an attractive omega like Kyousuke had classmates lining up to court him like he was some feat-of-strength game at a fair.

Kyousuke buried his nose in the jacket he held, keening pitifully. The jacket wasn’t his, of course. It was Tomoe’s. Just the lingering scent of breathmints and paper set Kyousuke on fire, driving the omega mad at every inhale. No other alpha had ever made Kyousuke want like this, never made him wet like this.

His heats were short enough, four days at max. He could do this.

He can do this. He’s done it before, he can do it again and he’ll be doing it for a long time.

“Kyousuke?” Shimura Kuga called, gently rapping his knuckles against his son’s door. “I brought you some water and crackers. You’ve gotta keep your strength up…”

There was Kyousuke, silver hair fanned over his shoulders and pillow. Those lovely grey eyes were screwed shut, his entire lanky body curled around a jacket with a slowly-but-surely fading scent.

“Kyousuke…” Shimura sighed. He knew all too well was an unaccompanied heat could be like.

“Tomoe.” Kyousuke sobbed into the jacket. “Where’s Tomoe, I want Tomoe!”

Shimura pulled his son to his bosom, letting the teen weep into his chest. Slick was staining Shimura’s sweatpants, but it was nothing a quick run through the wash wouldn’t fix. “Oh, honey. You told him to stay away, remember?”

Kyousuke whined, fistting his mother’s shirt. “I don’t care, I want Tomoe here now.”

Only two more years.

On the Subject of Heats

Kyousuke Kuga was an entirely traditional wasn’t his choice. It was just how he was raised and how his parents were raised, and his grandparents were raised all the way back to whenever the Kuga family began. He was born to an entirely respectable alpha and omega couple out of an arranged marriage that he would (in their eyes) no doubt someday replicate but with more children.

Kyousuke never knew any other way of life. What he did know was to always be home before midnight, to never meet up with an alpha in public without a close friend or family member present, and never submit to strange alphas but always submit to authority.

That being said, there were several instances in which the Kuga family was rather lax. Specifically, in that as he was an unarranged omega- an omega who has not yet been promised away- he was allowed to court or be courted as he wished.

Tomoe Yagami was a notoriously hard-to-impress alpha, but the second he laid eyes on Kyousuke he was completely taken by his beauty and grace. After several weeks of awkward compliments that always left them both as blushing messes, Tomoe had stutteringly asked to court Kyousuke. Having no reason to decline him, Kyousuke accepted.

Which was how they found themselves here.

“No.” The omega said, dead-set on his answer. “I’ll let you do a lot of things, Tomoe, but this I must refuse.”

“But there’s all sorts of studies-” Tomoe, halfway through his rebuttal, found himself interrupted by a hand over his mouth.

“I will say this one more time. I allow no-one but my mother into my room during my heats. You are not and cannot be the exception.” Kyousuke persisted. “Outside of my heat we can kiss all you want, hell I’ll even accept anything less than penetration. But until I graduate highschool, that’s as far as I’ll go.”

Tomoe, uncharacteristically persistent, grasped his courtmate’s wrist and pulled it away. “It will be better for your health if you-”

“Tomoe!” Kyousuke hissed, grey eyes boring into purple. “This matter is not up for debate. You cannot dissuade me from this. if you have a problem with that, I see nothing stopping you from walking out the door right now.”

The alpha sighed, but his eyes softened as he closed them. He opted to gently take Kyousuke’s wrists in his hands and press a kiss to Kyousuke’s fingers. For a short while, the two were silent.

Tomoe tool a deep breath. “if that is truly what you wish, then I will not persist.”

“The heat thing or the leaving thing, because I don’t actually want you to leave.” Kyousuke nervously tucked a stray lock of silver hair behind his ear.

Tomoe smiled and, laughing, kissed Kyousuke’s forehead. “Whatever you wish, my sweet.”

Hello! You mentioned pregnancy in a previous ask, what would Kyousuke's pregnancy be like? Will it be difficult? Really easy? Morning sickness? Cravings? (also, what would kyousuke and tomoe's nicknames for one another be?)

I went a bit overboard but I had extra time during class and figured this was as good a way to pass the time as any. (also OTP)

They’re not too big on nicknames, just the normal ‘hun’, ‘sweetie’, and ‘darling’. When feeling especially affectionate, Tomoe will call Kyousuke ‘my sweet’, but most of the time they just stick with ‘Tomo’ and ‘Kyou’.

Tomoe’s family (esp. Riku and their mom) is absolutely ecstatic about the situation, but Kyousuke’s father is furious because someone defiled his precious moonflower.

Kyousuke’s tall, which (according to the documentaries I’ve seen) is an advantage during pregnancy, especially multiples because the longer torso allows for longer gestation.

For the entirety of his first trimester, Kyousuke didn’t get morning sickness. Even into his second and third trimesters, he only felt nauseous if something royally set him off.

His hormones are so out of whack though. He’s got moodswings for days and he’s just miserable. Sometimes all he wants is for Tomoe to hold him, and then an hour later he can’t even stand being in the same house as his mate. It takes a huge toll on them emotionally.

Also did I mention yet that it’s twins

Both babies move around like nothing else because they have sporty parents and they keep Kyousuke up all night. This alone has gotten Tomoe banished to the couch because damnit this is all your fault

But Tomoe has this godly singing voice that calms the babies right on down, even after they’re born.

Most omega’s scents will change during pregnancy, but Kyousuke still smells like colored pencils and lavender. The only difference is a slight hint of honey. The same is true for Tomoe (new paper and breathmints), but he gains a bit of something spicy.

The only thing Kyousuke craves is Nutella, which wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t crave it on e v e r y t h i n g. If it’s not being used a spread they it’s being warmed up and used as a syrup or sauce. Tomoe has come downstairs so many times at midnight just to find his husband eating Nutella by the jar. With a spoon.

Tomoe would gain sympathy weight if his training regiment wasn’t so strict. His coach (the boy’s gone international, he has a coach) makes Tomoe lose the excess calories before they can even settle.

RIKU IS SO EXCITED. His husband isn’t ready for kids yet, but Kyousuke needs a ton of help towards the end of his pregnancy. Because Tomoe’s off doing extra training so he can get time off to spend with Kyousuke once the babies are born, Riku has become #1 on the emergency Nutella run call list.

Really short heats- three days max- but really heavy

Kyousuke absolutely will not spend his heat with anyone until after he’s graduated high school. His friends and family actually all know to just shut him alone in his room and not let anyone in.

They spend so long discussing how everything will play out- whether Tomoe will ever be allowed to spend Kyousuke’s heats with him, things like that.

After Tomoe came back to Japan, Kyousuke’s body built up an immunity to his heat suppressants and he went into heat during practice. Riku legit punched out four strange alphas before Tomoe arrived to take Kyousuke home.

RIKU HAS WALKED IN ON THEM SO MANY TIMES I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH THEY EVENTUALLY JUST BECOME DESENSITIZED TO IT

They’re so careful, always making sure to use a condom, always making sure that Kyousuke is on birth control. The first fucking time they don’t use a condom, they conceive.

The Yagamis are a more modern family, while the Kugas are incredibly traditional.

These two were the most awkward beans when they first met. Neither one could work up the courage to talk to the other for actual weeks. And when Tomoe finally grew a pair and said something, he more mumbled it and Kyousuke had to ask him to say it again.

It was a compliment. he said he liked Kyousuke’s hair- which was only to his shoulders at the time. Kyousuke responded by saying he liked Tomoe’s eyes.

Riku caught them getting it on at least 5 times before Tomoe left and another 15 after he came back. He pretends he doesn’t know either of them for a week each time.

They were courting before the KGB incident, but they decided it would be best for both of them to break it off when Tomoe left for America.

Even before they broke up, Tomoe never worried about Kyousuke getting in trouble with other alphas. While the omega is rather oblivious to flirtation, he knows when someone is coming onto him physically. He never hesitates to fight if there’s some unwanted attention coming his way and he never loses.
