Over Again

Summary: based off of the prompt by anonymous user: this might be too close to your other halzek prompts but if not.. Jay gets hurt walking home and won’t tell Adam what happened until he finally breaks down? (maybe Adam calls Will for help?) (could it be abo with alpha adam and omega jay?) Omegaverse. Halzek. 

Author's Note: I do not mind having a ton of hurt!Jay prompts because it's really fun to write. Sorry Jay xD. I'm always down for whump Jay. It's okay if it's similar, I usually figure something out to try and make them different!

Warnings: Jay gets hurt... again. Cause it's Jay. It happens. Omegaverse.

Jay cursed to himself as he limped back towards his apartment, the pain shooting through his ankle as he made his way up the steps at the entrance. He sucked in a breath, releasing it through his nose as he braced himself on the concrete wall. One second he was running and the next he was in the ditch. 

He braced himself, taking another step with a pained grunt as he continued inside. Adam had warned him against running right after it snowed and he didn't really listen. It took him a few extra minutes to get to his shared apartment and he unlocked the door, forcing himself inside. He could hear the tv so that meant that Adam was back from Kevin's. He sighed, throwing his keys into the bowl next to the door and started for the living room. 

Adam didn't notice him at first as he snuck by the blonde and went straight for their bedroom and straight to the bathroom. He didn't bother to lock the door behind him as he stripped out of his cold, wet clothes and moved over to the shower. Bracing himself on the shower door and he leaned over and turned on the tap. He placed his hand underneath the water to check the temperature before getting in a second later. He kept himself off of his injured foot as he scrubbed his body down with his body wash. The Omega took a couple more deep breaths, willing the pain to subside so he didn't have to explain anything to Adam. Not that he was ever going to tell the Alpha what exactly happened after Adam told him not to go. 

A gasp left him as he felt his foot slid out from underneath him and he went crashing to the ground. "Ouch." He muttered, rubbing the back of his head. Not even a second later, he could hear Adam's heavy foot falls followed by the worried pheromones as the blonde came crashing through the door. 

"Jay, are you okay?" Adam questioned as he rushed over to the shower. He looked over the Omega for a moment, his worry growing. Jay nodded, taking another moment to brace himself as he went to pull himself up before his hand lost its grip and he slipped back down. "C'mon, lets get you out." The Alha whispered, grabbing a fresh towel from the cabinet before leaning over and shutting off the water, not caring that it was getting on his clothes. 

The Omega didn't fight against Adam as the Alpha all but hauled him out of the shower. Adam patted Jay dry with the towel, rubbing soft circles as he went. The Omega purred in contentment as Adam moved the towel along his body, forgetting momentarily about the pain in his ankle. The Alpha hummed softly as he moved in front of his mate, pulling the detective up with him. Jay let out a pained cry as he put his weight on his ankle which immediately sent Adam into a pit of worry. 

"What's wrong?" Adam questioned, letting the Omega brace himself on him. "What happened out there?" 

Jay shook his head. "I'm fine. It's nothing." 

Adam huffed. "It's not just nothing. I can literally smell the distress off of you." The Alpha fought back. The Omega didn't say anything else as they moved into the bedroom and he reached into his dresser to get a fresh set of clothes. "Jay, please tell me what I can do." 

Jay sighed, pulling his shirt over his head before looking over to the Alpha. "Adam, I'm okay. I promise." 

Adam gave him a look, not exactly believing him but dropping the subject for now.

Adam had been watching his mate ever since Jay had gotten home. The Omega was trying to conceal just how much pain he was actually in. Putting a forced smile on his face whenever he noticed that Adam was watching him. 

The blonde picked up his phone, unlocking it and going to his contacts. He scrolled through them until he came to the one that he wanted. He clicked the contact and opened up his messenger and typed out the quick message. 

Adam placed his phone down once the reply came quickly. With a sigh, he pushed himself off of the couch and walked over to Jay. "Sit down, Jay. I know you are going to say that you are okay but please... I hate seeing you in pain." 

Jay nodded, turning in Adam's hold but once again gave a yelp. Tears came to the Omega's eyes as he placed his hands on Adam's shoulders. Adam wrapped his arms around his mate and pulled him close. "I'm so sorry, Addie... I should have listened... I was running and I slipped on ice and fell into a ditch." 

Adam shushed him quietly, ushering him towards the couch. "It's okay. I just don't like seeing you like this." He paused, helping Jay lift his leg up onto the couch cushions. "I messaged Will, he'll be over soon." 

Jay nodded, leaning his head back onto the edge of the couch and throwing his arm over his face. Adam smiled softly, sitting in the armchair next to the couch and running his fingers through his brown hair.

It had taken Will about an hour to arrive at the Halstead-Ruzek apartment. Will let himself in, grinning as he moved into the living room with his medical bag in hand. "So what did my clumsy younger brother do this time?" The red haired Alpha questioned as he placed the bag on the floor and kneeled next to his brother. 

"Shut up." Jay grumbled. 

Will chuckled as Adam said, "He went on a jog, slipped on ice and went into a ditch." 

Will nodded, "Alright, let me see it." He manevuered around, getting to the Omega's injuried leg. He released calming pheromones as he examined the ankle, moving his fingers around and listening to the soft pained sounds. "Can you walk on it?" 

Jay nodded. "Kinda, it hurts though." 

The red head hummed softly, continuing to do his examination, moving Jay's ankle slightly. "So it's not broken. You most likely twisted it. I would like you to come to the hospital so I can do a scan on it but I doubt you will do that." Will stated. "So I want you to rest it, move it every so often but try not to put to much pressure on it for the next few hours. Ice it and take some pain medicine if you need some. Okay?" 

Jay nodded, not saying anything to him. Adam got up from where he was and followed Will towards the door. "Thanks for coming. He didn't even want to tell me at first." 

Will smiled. "Sounds like my brother. Just make sure he rests that ankle for a little while with some ice so the swelling will go down." 

Adam returned with a smile. "I will. Have a good night, Will." 

With that Will was out the door. Adam went straight for the kitchen and grabbed an ice bag from the freezer. He would never admit that he kept these in the freezer hidden with how many times that Jay had hurt himself by accident. Thankfully Jay hadn't moved since Will had walked out the door and he went over and placed the ice onto Jay's ankle through a nearby towel that was sitting next to the couch. 

The Omega smiled at him. "I love you." He whispered. 

Adam shook his head, leaning forward and placing a kiss on Jay's lips. "I love you too, now shush and ice that ankle."

Because of You

Summary: based off of the prompt by halzekrhodestead: Rhodestead and halzek with alphas will and Adam and omegas Connor and jay with will and jay getting hurt by pat Halstead. Omegaverse. 

Warnings: Omegaverse, Discrimination, usage of slurs and choice words, basically Pat Halstead being an a-hole

Both Will and Jay should of known having a dinner at the Halstead residence had been a bad idea. Especially more with Connor and Adam in attendance with them. Pat Halstead had barely uttered a word since they had arrived, a thick tense air radiating through the air. 

Adam had snuck his hand underneath the table and placed it on Jay's knee, squeezing slightly and trying to reassure him that this was going to be okay. Connor and Will both were stubble about their own display of affection with their hands entriwined on the table. 

None of them missed the way that Pat Halstead glared holes into both of his sons. Taking looks between his Alpha son and Omega son. The distaste clear on his face. Finally with a scoff, Pat muttered, "Disappointing." 

Jay's face paled as Pat's gaze leveled on him. Adam, Will, and Connor's eyes widening almost instantly. "What?" Jay's voice was soft and timid. Very out of character for the normally very intiminating and fun-going personality of Jay Halstead. 

Pat just shook his head. "I thought by now that you had this Alpha that you would give up wanting this senseless dream of being in an Alpha's position." Pat started. Jay attempted to swallow the knot in his throat as he placed down his fork, a small growl leaving Adam at Jay's clear change in his demeanor. "You should be at home, taking care of him and raising pups but instead you choose to try and be an Alpha." Pat scoffed, stabbing his steak and bringing a piece up to his mouth. 

Jay muttered a quick, "I'm not hungry." Pushing his chair out and throwing his napkin onto the table by his plate before all but fleeing from the room. 

"Dad, we've talked about this. Jay will start having kids when he's ready for them." Will stated, his own glare leveling on his father. 

Pat's attention was now turned to his eldest son. "You're not much better than the wannabe Alpha. You are a doctor which is the job of an Omega. Omegas tend to the sick. Not Alphas. Alphas are the protectors." Pat retorted. "You are the least Alpha, Alpha that I've ever met."

The anger flared on Will's face. The redhead pushed away from the table, not caring that his chair fell to the floor before disappearing out of the room without a word. 

Pat turned to look at Adam and Connor this time. Both of the men preparing themselves to walk away from the table. "I'm sorry, Adam that you have to deal with a disobient Omega. And you Connor, I'm sorry my son isn't an Alpha that actually wants to treat you the way he should." 

Connor and Adam's jaws dropped as they looked to each other for a moment. Adam could feel his own anger bubbling from the scent of Jay's distress that had lingered in the room following the Omega out of the room. 

"You're kidding right?" Adam said, a laugh of disbelief leaving him. "You think your own son is disobient and not Omega like because he wants to be a cop. Protect others in this town? He's the furthest thing from that, Mr. Halstead. With due respect, shut the fuck up. Jay is perfect the way he is. I wouldn't change him for the world." 

It was Pat's turn for his jaw to drop. The disbelief clear on his face that his son's Alpha would speak against him. 

"You remind me a lot of my father. My father wasn't happy with me being a doctor but you know, at least he's trying unlike you." Connor growled. Getting up from the table and storming out of the room. 

Adam allowed his own growl to leave. "Good day, Mr. Halstead." The Alpha sneered as he waltzed out of the room after Connor. 

The two found the Halstead brothers sitting on the porch of their father's house. Adam's heartbroke hearing the soft cries leaving Jay and Will trying to console him. He knew that the two were constantly put down by their father but he had never actually seen it happen in person. And it pissed him off. 

Adam let out a soft sigh, doing his best to push down the angered pheromones that he knew had to be radiating off of him before kneeling behind Jay and wrapping his arms around the Omega. Connor took a spot next to Will and leaned into him. 

"You know, it's not like fifty years ago when Omegas could barely leave their homes without their Beta or Alpha partner." Adam whispered, running his fingers through Jay's disarrayed hair. "Now, Omegas can do whatever they want. They can be whoever they want. You can be. Don't listen to your father. I wouldn't ever want to see you change." 

Connor made a sound of approval. "He's right you know. Even my father came from a traditionalist family... he worked hard to get out of the mindset that I refused to stay home." 

"I just wish that he wouldn't do this every single time we came out. It changed after mom passed away. She leveled him out. He used to not be this bad." Jay muttered, curling his legs to his chest. 

"You have people around you who don't think like that. Whatever your father says, it's not true." Adam stated, forcing the Omega to look up at him. "Just be you, Jay." 

"I can take my father saying I'm not a true Alpha but listening to him degrade Jay gets me every time." Will whispered. 

Connor smiled softly, reaching up and running his fingers through red locks. "Don't listen to him on any of it." He said. "Why don't we go back to my place, drink and watch old Disney movies." 

Jay finally let out a chuckle. This was their thing. Whenever one of them was down, this was something that they would do. 

"Yeah, lets go."

Summary: Based on the prompt from halzekrhodestead: Halzek will alpha Adam and omega jay telling vioght they are together. Omegaverse. Warnings: Omegaverse

Jay and Adam were both incredibly nervous as they waited for the rest of Intelligence to head home for the night. Their boss and Alpha pack leader, Voight had always been the last to go home. Which was completely fine by them. He was actually the exact person that they needed to talk to. 

Jay wasn't sure exactly how Voight was going to react to their confession to him. He had made it clear when they had both came into the unit that relationships within the unit were not allowed. Quickly, somehow, the unit turned into a pack. A pack with bonds to signify family and protectiveness of each other. 

They had kept their relationship on the down low, only a select few knowing of their relationship. One of those people being Jay's elder brother Will but no one within the Intelligence unit. 

Slowly one by one, the rest of the Unit started to leave. Giving their goodnights and see you in the mornings as they left. Jay felt the nervousness boiling in his stomach as he looked between Adam's desk and Voight's office. 

Once the last person left, Upton, Jay took in a deep breath, looking over to Adam with a nod. The blonde Alpha nodded back to him and got up from his desk and the two walked together towards the Head Alpha's office. Jay forced the nerves down as he tapped his knuckles on the door frame, effectively bringing Voight's attention away from the paperwork in front of him. 

Voight called for them to come in as he placed his pen onto his desk and closed the file in front of him. Adam closed the door behind them, despite the fact that the rest of the Unit were already gone, before turning to face Voight. 

Jay felt the shiver go down his spine from the almost knowing look on the Alpha's face. "Halstead, Ruzek, what can I help you with?" The Alpha questioned, a teasing tone to his voice. 

Both Jay and Adam felt their mouths go dry for a moment before they looked to each other, their gazes giving each other reassurance. "Um, Voight... we wanted to tell you before we told anyone else." Jay started. 

Adam just gave a soft smile, reaching over and taking Jay's hand in his and lacing their fingers together. Jay smiled back at him, getting lost in the pools of chocolate before Voight cleared his throat, causing both of them to blush and look back at their boss. "We're together. We have been for awhile." Adam stated. 

Voight smiled, pushing up from his chair and rounding the table. "I know. I've been waiting for you two to tell me." He replied. Jay let out the breath that he didn't even notice that he had been holding. "You haven't been acting differently on cases so I'll let this slide. Thank you for telling me." Voight whispered, reaching forward and wrapping his arms around both of them and pulling them close. "I'm happy for you both. You both deserve the world." 

Adam didn't notice the tears coming to his eyes until they had fallen down his face. He reached around, letting his arm wrap around Voight. Jay had stiffed before a moment before finally relaxing and allowing Voight to completely engulf them both into a hug. 

After a moment, Voight pulled away with the same smile. "Now, get out of here. It's late." 

Jay nodded, a smile on his face, "Okay, Sarge. Goodnight." 

Voight replied with his own goodnight as Adam opened up the office door once more and both Jay and Adam walked out of the room. Jay smiled as Adam threw his arm over his shoulder and pulled the shorter man closer to him. Voight stood at his office door with his own smile as he watched the two disappear from sight.

Summary: based off of the prompt by halzekrhodestead: If You are still taking prompts; can u write one with alpha will and omega Connor on a three date with alpha kelly omega matt and alpha adam and omega Jay? Rhodestead. Halzek. Seversey. Omegaverse. or The Alphas v. The Omegas at laser tag. Author's Note: So usually I do Omega Kelly and Alpha Matt but since it's you and you are basically now the brains behind my Halzek and Rhodestead operation, I have no problem doing this for you! Alright, so I'm not sure if this going to be really long or not. But here you go!

This was a terrible idea. Will should of known that the minute that he had agreed to go on a group date with Jay, Adam, Kelly, and Matt. More so the fact that HE chose to do. Laser tag was a terrible idea when you are versing two cops and two men who work in almost black out conditions in fires. It had been Jay's idea to separate them into the Alpha team and the Omega teams. He should of known. Currently, he was hiding behind one of the barricades. He might be quick on his feet but not this quick. Kelly was working on hunting down Matt while Adam was going after Jay. The Alpha team was at a major disadvantage. Their disadvantage came in the form of Jay. The Omega was a former Army Ranger and excellent marksman and sniper. Despite the fact that Adam knew how to aim and shoot a gun, he was no match for Jay. None of them were. Will took a deep breath as he came out of his hiding spot and crept around the darkened playing field. He knew a bit about using guns, or in this case laser guns, he could probably at least knock out Connor. If he could find him first. He never realized how good at hiding that Connor was. Jay probably played a part in that. Jay was excellent at finding the best hiding spots. Why the hell did he chose laser tag of all things?! Kelly came into his line of sight as he moved through the arena. He had barely seen the glow of red on him from their team's colors. Kelly noticed him within seconds and nodded forwards. Will kept himself as quiet as possible as he got up to the other Alpha's side. Matt stood not far from them, looking in the opposite direction. Will narrowed his eyes on the Omega. Matt was walking around, not on guard. Something was up. Will practically jumped out of his skin as his own vest changed colors from red to purple, signifying that he had been knocked out of the game. Instantly, Kelly jumped out of the way and fired a few laser shots towards Matt. Managing to get the Omega as he turned to face them. Will turned on his heel and his eyes widened as Connor stood behind him with a smirk on his face. "If the bait is obvious. Don't take it." The black haired Omega stated, walking forward and placing a kiss on Will's cheek. Will let out a small chuckle as he walked over to the out of bounds area and took a seat along side Matt. "I shouldn't of been the bait." Matt stated, a smile on his face as he took a seat down next to the Alpha. "On the bright side, your team has Jay." Will replied with a shrug. He had to admit, this was actually really fun and with the rest of them, it only made it better.    On the battlefield, Jay watched on as Connor snuck back into the shadows and rounded Kelly. They were still even in numbers. He had yet to spot Adam yet but he knew that Adam would be searching for him. Luckily enough for him, army training came in a lot of help when staying silent. Kelly had to know that Connor was sneaking up on him. He had taken out Matt but Connor had knocked Will out of the game. He was on guard. Jay could tell just by his body language. Jay kept his movements silent as he got out of hiding spot and headed in the direction to get behind the firefighter. If he shouted out to Connor, he would give himself away. If he could get to Kelly quick enough, he could keep him from eliminating Connor out of the game. Jay cursed to himself as Connor's vest changed from blue to green. Connor didn't even see it coming. He had turned just in time to see Kelly fire the shot. Now, Kelly has eliminated two of the Omega team. Jay hurried his movements, getting to Kelly's unguarded side and lifted his laser gun. "Should of kept your guard up." Jay stated, watching as Kelly's eyes widened as he took a shot with his own laser and effectively knocked Kelly out of the game. Kelly laughed as he replied with, "This is what I get for underestimating cops in this game." Now the game was even again. It was just down to him and Adam. Adam was hot headed when it came to games. He was competitive. Jay knew his Alpha would be spending more time trying to find him instead of helping his teammates taking out their opponents. Jay continued to move around and smiled as Adam finally came into view. Adam was completely guarded and was facing him but hadn't noticed his presence yet. The blonde moved around like he did when they were on cases. He was ready to fire at any second that he saw one of them. By now, he wouldn't know that almost the entire Alpha team was eliminated from their match. Suddenly a smirk came to Adam's face as he looked over into Jay's direction. "I see you." Adam brought his gun up and fired. Jay managed to dunk out of the way at last second and rushed off in an opposite direction. He could hear Adam's heavy foot falls behind him as he rounded a corner. He hide himself as Adam rushed past him. The blonde had lost him. Jay didn't come out of his spot as he aimed his gun and shot the laser. Jay cheered to himself as Adam's vest changed colors and he heard a string of curses leave Adam. The arena lit up, bringing the low lit room back up. "You keep getting me with the same trick every single time." Adam stated as they made their way over to the others. Jay smiled as Adam threw his arm over his shoulder and pulled him close. "You keep falling for it." Jay said. Adam rolled his eyes, leaning down and pressing a soft kiss into Jay's lips. Once they got back over to the others, the rest of their group were already out of their vests and putting them back onto the counter. Their match had last almost an hour before anyone had finally managed to get another. "Next time, Jay is on my team." Will stated, smirking as the two placed their stuff onto the counter. "Oh please, Kelly totally knocked out almost the entire Omega team." Connor retorted. "It was fair." Jay snorted but didn't say anything as Will and Connor went back and forth about the teams. The six made it outside, each standing next to the respective partners. "Kelly was definitely the MVP of the Alpha team." Adam stated, frowning slightly that he hadn't managed to get anyone before he was eliminated from the match. "The Omegas were lucky. They had a sniper on their team." Matt added. "Jay is the MVP of laser tag in general." Will laughed. "That's the truth." x The group date continued to Molly's. Each getting a round of drinks as they laughed to each other. "We are going to win next time." Will stated, throwing a look over to his younger brother. The Omega Halstead smirked, tossing his shot back. "You wish. Us, Omegas, are superior at laser tag." Jay retorted, the smirk still playing on his face. "That's because they have you." Adam added, his hand settling on Jay's knee. Connor laughed, taking another sip from his scotch. "Surprisingly Kelly was the best on your team." Giving Adam a playful look. Adam pouted, earning a laugh from everyone. "Can we just admit that we make good teams no matter who is on what team?" Could you do a pregnant omega jay with alpha Adam please for the 5+ headcannons? The severide/Casey headcannons got me thinking lol

Absolutely I can!!!

1. Jay’s pregnancy is completely accidental. He was on a birth control but it had failed on him. He tells Adam almost immediately. The reason he took a test was because Adam started to get more protective of him. Even to the point if another Alpha walked by, he would growl.

2. The first member of Intelligence to find out is Voight. Voight had his suspicions but didn't want to over step boundaries.

3. Hailey finds out before the other members of Intelligence. She started noticing the changes in both Jay and Adam. She asked Jay one night about it when Jay wouldn't drink with her.

4. They reveal the pregnancy to Intelligence by having a party at Voight's house. It was Voight's idea.

5. Jay is put on desk duty. He still works for Intelligence but he does work like Mouse and Nadia did. It drives him crazy. He refused to go into dispatch.

6. Hailey and Kim organize the baby shower. Platt was also involved cause it's Platt.

7. Intelligence is also a pack with pack bonds. They all had their own suspicions about Jay's pregnancy. They are all really protective of him now. Kevin supplies the snacks. Kim and Hailey both turned into mother hens.

8. Voight actually knocked a suspect out for insulting Jay because he was pregnant. Adam tried buy Voight stopped him. The final straw was he got called a whore. Voight didn't like that at all. He broke the guy's nose.

9. Jay goes into labor two weeks early. Hailey forced him to go to the hospital because Jay claimed that it was Braxton Hicks.

10. Jay gives birth to a Alpha boy. His name is Declan Patrick Ruzek. He has Adam's hair and Jay's eyes. Hailey is the godmother and Kevin is the godfather.

you said something in your headcanons that piqued my interest. anyways if you’re up for it abo halzek on a call with children? And jays omega instincts come out? also I’ve said this before but absolutely love your writing 🤗

This case was a tough one. No one liked the cases that involved children. Jay especially. It was always like a light switch would flip inside of Jay and everyone would see a completely different side of him.

It wasn’t very often that it happened either. Adam started to notice it whenever a particular case would involve children. Jay’s whole demeanor would change. It was no secret in Intelligence or even the 21st that Jay Halstead was Intelligences resident Omega. People on the outside would automatically assume he was a Beta. He never acted like the traditional Omega would. Ever. All except when children were involved.

Intelligence had managed to bust a child trafficking ring. They had completely stumbled upon the case by accident when Burgess had ran into a child that had been frightened beyond belief. No one could get through to the little girl. That is until Jay stepped into the room.

Adam had watched in complete amazement as the child eyed his mate. He couldn’t even put into words how quick Jay jumped into the “motherly" role. The girl only took a moment before she was letting Jay sit next to her. Adam was almost ashamed to admit that he enjoyed seeing this side to Jay. It wasn’t very often that he would see Jay fret over a child. It wasn’t very often that he saw Jay actually react like an Omega would.

It hadn’t taken long for the girl to open up to Jay. The Omega had taken off the scent blocking bandages off of his scent gland and allowed his natural scent to flood the room. Lavender and vanilla. The girl had calmed almost instantly just by the scent. Jay radiated with soothing and calming pheromones as he talked to the small child. A slight smile on his face as she doodled on one of his notebooks.

By accident, Jay had even growled at Voight when he had walked into the room. Just upon instinct of the demanding Alpha scent coming into the room.

Jay had spent his time nurturing and taking care of the girl. Slowly getting answers out of her until he finally managed to get her to tell him the location she had came from.

What they had found, almost sent Jay into a frenzy. Two little boys and another little girl had been huddled together in a dirty basement in tattered clothing. The smell of the basement was gut wrenching that Adam himself almost lost the contents of his stomach. Jay had jumped into immediate action, rushing over to sooth the children. He ordered the patrolman to fetch blankets, water, and some clothes that Jay always kept in his truck. The only person that the children would even remotely let near them had been Jay. His words calming and gentle as he approached them. They had been skittish around the Alphas of the team but Jay’s words managed to calm them enough that Adam and Atwater could get close.

Jay had remained close to them as the children were loaded up into Ambulance 61. One of the boys clung to Jay, refusing to let go. Jay only muttered to Voight that he was going to the hospital with them but they all knew that he was going to anyway. It was like it on every case with children.

When Adam arrived at the hospital, he had found Jay sitting in the conjoined room that held all four of the children. It had surprised him that Jay was fast asleep on the hospital bed with all the children clinging to him. His arms were wrapped around them protectively. It was clear to him that Jay was in a light sleep and even the slightest movement would wake him up.

Adam smiled softly has he took soft steps into the room and rounded the hospital bed. He reached out, careful of the pups wrapped up in his mate’s protective grasp. His hand landed softly on the side of Jay’s neck, where his bond mark resided, and the Omega stirred. It was the only way Adam knew he could keep Jay from lashing out. Jay’s instincts always went into overdrive whenever it came to a child. Even if that child was not biologically is. “Hey there.” Adam whispered. “How they doing?” the blonde added, motioning towards the children.

Jay made no effort to move but smiled to the Alpha. “Scared. My brother said they are malnourished and dehydrated. Luckily physical injuries were minimum but they are terrified. I couldn’t even leave the room without one of them panicking on my brother.”

Adam only grinned, sitting down in the chair next to the bed. “It’s not like you would of left them anyway.”

Jay gave a soft sigh, shuffling on the bed until he managed to detangle himself from the mass of small limbs. He grabbed his jacket off of the side of the chair and placed it in the middle of the pack of pups before getting up. Stretching, he let out a sigh of relief. His gaze soft as he looked down at the children. “They look peaceful.” He whispered.

Adam’s smile only grew bigger. “They had you.” The Alpha replied, standing up and moving through the room until he was next to his mate. Jay instinctively leaned into the blonde but his eyes never left the pups. Adam could smell the strong protective pheromones radiating off of Jay. “Vanessa and Hailey are getting ahold of their families. They should be here later tonight.” Adam stated.

Four pups. All had been kidnapped from low income families from around Chicago. The little girl, the one who had been found by Burgess, was Sophie Masters. She had been missing for four months. The other little girl was Ariana Harper. She had disappeared around the same time as Sophie. The boys were twin brothers, Kyle and Charlie Benjamin. They had disappeared two months prior. Now thanks to one brave little girl and Jay’s own instincts, four children were going home to their families. The trafficker had been caught and was due to be processed the next morning.

Adam would count this as a win.

The Alpha almost jumped out of his skin as Jay let out a low growl. “Again, Jay?” Willis voice cut through the growls. Jay’s face flushed over causing Will to chuckle for a second. “How long ago did they fall asleep?”

Jay sighed softly, “Maybe an hour ago. They fought it for so long. I had to lay down with them.” In other words, the four pups craved the maternal instincts that kicked in from Jay and the protectiveness that radiated off of him whenever someone would walk by. He made them feel safe.

“I was going to see if they were ready to eat but we can let them sleep for awhile longer.” Will stated. “Let me know when they wake up.”

Jay nodded, his gaze following Will’s form walk out the door. “Going to wait here until the parents arrive?” Adam questioned. The Omega just looked up with a sheepish smile on his face. That smile said it all. “I'll go get you a coffee.” Adam muttered, placing a chaste kiss to Jay’s forehead. “Want anything to eat?”

The Omega shook his head. “I’ll wait until they wake up. It was easiest to get Sophie to eat when I ate with her.”

Adam nodded, giving Jay a quick kiss before excusing himself from the room.

Jay had remained with the children until the second their parents arrived. The Omega had brushed out their hair, getting all the rats and tangles out. He had managed to coax them into taking showers and getting the dirt and grime off of their bodies.

He had made it his personal mission to go to the cafeteria and get each of their favorite foods for them to have as their first meal outside of the horrors that had been their captivity.

They were in fresh clothes that Jay had Adam go out and buy for them, each with their favorite animal. Sophie a cat, Ariana a penquin, and Kyle and Charlie both had dogs on theirs.

Jay stood close by as the parents were brought into the room and reunited with their children, watching on with a soft smile as they embraced their parents for the first time in months.

Adam stood with him, his arm wrapped around Jay’s waist. The Alpha smiled, whispering to Jay, “You were the only person that could of solved this case?”

Jay looked up to him in confusion. “What?”

Adam laughed softly. “Had it not been for you and your instincts to care for them. We would of never gotten Sophie to talk. That was all you, Jay.”

Jay shrugged but a smile still settled on his face. “I suppose so.”

If your still doing it could we get more omega severide headcannons please? Also I have to know, what did Adam do in the criminal intelligence au that got him put on their hit list? And how did they decide to have him join instead? It doesn’t have to be headcannons or anything I’m just insanely curious. Thank you!

Omega Severide Headcanons (wasn't sure if you wanted Seversay or not so I'm just doing Severide)

1. The reason why a lot of people are shocked to learn that Severide is an Omega is because he wears a mild form of scent blockers and sometimes takes suppressants when he needs too. So he gives off more of a neutral scent. Plus some of the decisions he makes in the heat of the moment tend to be "Alpha like".

2. Severide is the first Omega to make it to Lieutenant in Chicago. At least for the regular firehouses. Omegas tend to mostly work as paramedics or at headquarters.

3. Severide's Omega instincts tend to come out more in calls that include children. If the child were to pass away, it affects him for awhile. It's usually Matt who has to talk to him.

4. Firehouse 51 like to joke with Severide asking if he is truly an Omega cause he rarely acts like a "traditional" Omega.

5. Matt and Andy had been the first to know Severide's Omega status. Followed by Boden and then Shay. The rest of the firehouse followed shortly after.

6. Whenever someone new comes to the firehouse, the house doesn't tell anyone Severide's dynamic. They enjoy watching the shock come to their faces when they find out. Their favorite so far as been Gallow. Otis' reaction was hilarious for them.

7. Matt and Andy used to joke that Severide and Shay would of bonded (Shay was an Alpha) had it not been for the fact she was a lesbian.

8. Severide doesn't care about his dynamic. His father told him to never let anyone say anything to him negatively and to live his dream. Severide took those words to heart.

9. It's easy to tell whenever Severide goes into heat cause his decision making becomes more rash and sometimes more dangerous.

Alright and now to answer your question.

So Adam ended up on the hit list because of the people working under him. He didn't know that some of his underlings had been adding ingredients into his product that caused it to be lethal. He also tends to make rash decisions and get angry easily so Alvin decided to bring him over to their group and combine forces. Adam had no idea this was going on and Intelligence ended up taking the guys out.

Have you ever thought about omega Adam and alpha Jay? But like people think Jay is the omega and Adam is the alpha because Adam is bigger/taller than Jay?

Honestly, when it comes down to Omegaverse, it’s the personal preference of the writer who is doing the fic. The way I write my Omegaverse fics, Adam wouldn’t match the qualities I have for how I have my Omegaverse set up. Jay could be an Alpha but with my preferences, he’s an Omega. 

I can’t speak for others when it comes to Omegaverse Halzek. I’m one of those people who find something they like, they stick with it. So in all honesty, I probably wouldn’t ever do Omega Adam and Alpha Jay. Just being completely honest with you. I’ve honestly never even thought of it cause to me Adam is an Alpha, no matter who I have him paired with. Halzek is my favorite One Chicago ship followed by Rhodestead. 

For others, it could be the reason that in Halzek Omegaverse, Adam tends to be the Alpha because he is bigger and taller than Jay. In my versions, it’s because of his personality. Adam’s personality, just screams Alpha to me. 

If you prefer Omega Adam and Alpha Jay, that is completely your thing and that’s awesome but I personally wouldn’t. I wouldn’t look down or hate against it but I just prefer Omega Jay.
