What a good time
Le Weekend had a blast playing at Chapel Hill Underground with Alpha Cop and The Kneads last night. Those bands are great, and you should go see them both at Slim's this coming Saturday 10/11. Chapel Hill Underground is wonderful, as always. People who came out to see the show are wonderful, as always. Thanks!
Carton - Sunburst +1 Out Now!
Pleased to announce that our first release on Antiquated Technology is now available. Sunburst +1 is the second release from Windsor, VT’s Carton. Sunburst was recorded and engineered last winter at Easthampton, MA’s Sonelab Studios by Justin Pizzoferrato and mastered by Mark Alan Miller. These songs were originally released digitally by What Doth Life and as a split with Alpha Cop as a part of the Negative Fun Records Home and Home series.
This release is limited to 60 copies and will be available for a minimal shipping and handling charge via the Antiquated Technology Bandcamp page.

Our next two releases are being prepped to see the light of day in March.
LFR-002 is an exploration from Alpha Cop drummer Brian J Donohoe, operating under the name “The Shoes, The Dress”. Possum Faces is a two act, experimental collage rooted in percussion, noise and found sound.
LFR-003 comes from the prolific Vermont post/rock musician Luke Chrisinger. With over 100 albums under his belt, Chrisinger recently fronted Windsor VT’s excellent Giant Travel Avant Garde. We are excited to offer a tape release of some of his personally handpicked tracks to help kick off out label.

LFR-004 is still in the works. Look for news on that release shortly.

The Local Beat Preview 2/3/12
Tonight on The Local Beat we are introducing two bands who have just recently arrived to our airwaves. At 5 p.m. we are greeting Jeff Shields, who has a wonderful electronica solo act called Kleptonaut. Kleptonaut released its newest album, The Golden Age of Space Travel, in November 2011, and it is full of beautifully synthesized instrumentals and wonderfully produced special effects. Jeff is also quite a character with a great sense of humor so there is no doubt he will be an entertaining guest.
At 6 p.m. we are bringing on some old Local Beat guests under a new guise: Alpha Cop. Perhaps you have heard this new psychedelic indie math rock group on our airwaves for the past couple of weeks but now is your chance to meet them. A group of veteran musicians from very diverse backgounds, Alpha Cop blends psychedelic rock with progressive math vibes to create a wholly unique and interesting sound. We will be chatting about the band and their new EP This One's For Luck. As always, the fun starts at 5 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m.! Be sure to follow the Local Beat on Twitter or Facebook and download tons of free local music on our ReverbNation page!
