GHOSTS OF THE STEEL ROAD: ALPHA READER SEARCH

Hello everyone! Recently, I finished my second draft of Ghosts of the Steel Road! I’m currently going through a quick editing read through of the draft, but afterwards, I would like some eyes on it! I’m calling this round alpha readers, but I do know that, since there is some light editing done, it’s not *entirely* alpha reader-esque.

What I’m hoping to get out of this:

Does the plot make sense? Is there anything glaring that makes the plot awkward or confusing?

Is the worldbuilding explained enough throughout the story? What could be expanded?

What can you predict based off of clues and foreshadowing throughout the novel? Is there too much, or not enough?

While those aren’t the only questions that the readers are limited to answering/commenting on, they’re the most important to me right now!

Some quick details about Ghosts of the Steel Road:

Current Word Count: ~55k

Genre: Fantasy (New Adult, but themes likely skew towards YA)

Synopsis: Melandra's father has been gone two weeks. A simple case, he said, in a little logging town off of the main trade route from the city. Yet when she hears of a string of murders on the road, along with a strange letter arriving at her doorstep, Melandra must choose to throw herself in the fray. Even if that means coming into contact with a mysterious group that holds an even more mysterious prophecy.

CWs: violence, murder, abuse, cult activities (if you have any other specific no-gos, please tell me so I can check!)
