Breath anchors. Chest breathing and forgetting to breathe is prevalent more so now than ever. Some days I am a rockstar belly breather, and other days I just can’t get to my root and all I can manage is the shallowness of my chest. . Following a recent discussion I had on the topic, placing an object so as to bring external pressure to the abdominal area and working on getting that to rise and sink on the inhale exhale is one way in approaching it. . But a lot of us are on the go, have a 9 to 5 grind, and I know I can’t stop-drop and breathe just about anywhere. Needing something small, efficient, but that will carry the “weight” of any object, I’ve turned to warming and cooling herbal oils. Easily applied during a bathroom or lunch-break. . With an intentional rub to the belly (clockwise), and depending on the energetics of the herbs, I’ve found that the cooling/warming sensation serves as a grounding basis from which I can navigate the breath more easily. In this case, the peppermint and lavender was a little too cooling so I’ll usually swap that out for a ginger, cinnamon and helianthus annus (sunflower) seed oil blend. Thinking about adding black cumin in there too. Heads up on the scent of your oil blends, I currently smell like a candy cane in spring. #alphabrainwaves #parasympathetic #nervoussystem #breathwork #gutsnglorypodcast #podcasts #intuition #storytelling #gutfeeling #illustration #characterdesign https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvq_tV_oHEG/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=a3srcm0j3j30
