pépéWhen Allison moved away, her dad bought a small Corgi in order to have something alive in the house. A living being to take care of and snuggle. Not many people knew that Chris Argent had a massive back injury when at his last year of high school-- an event that cut off his basketball career at it's root. So, when he tripped over the dog at top of the stairs and came tumbling down, it was obvious that a surgery would be needed.
So, Allison came back, after spending 5 years in France, giving birth to her son there and finishing university. Social and Human sciences at university of Bordeaux gave her everything she needed to land a fine job, and never go home. It was for the best. She had to make sure Scott had a good life, the one deserving of best man she ever knew.
The two grew up hand in hand, and started to date before boys and girls stopped having cooties. Hand holding grew to shy kisses and those grew to make out sessions and sex- when time for it came, in their sophomore year of high school. Everything was good and amazing, they had their lives planned up. They'd go to same school. He's be in pre med, and she's dedicate herself to Social studies, they'd live together in a shoebox apartment and life would be at their feet.
It all came tumbling down, when her period was two weeks late, and two pregnancy tests were positive. Doctor told her she was in her 5th week of pregnancy, and Allison realized what a real panic attack was like.
Breaking her own heart, she told Scott that she didn't want to be with him anymore, that she wanted to go to France, that it was her dream-- that they were too young to even think about forever. She could see the pain fill his eyes and crumble, the way a shattered glass would. She knew she had done it right, that he would let her go, if he believed it was what she wanted. It was. She wouldn't let him ruin his life for doing the right thing. And Scott McCall would do the right thing, even if it meant tossing a scholarship away and working at a pizza parlor in order to support her and the kid. No, she couldn't do that to him. He was more important.
Years passed, and Allison rarely came home. For Christmas, or a week in the summer, just so Lucas would know the city his pépé lived in. It was only that they moved there, once pépé broke his back. He need surgery, and Allison came to care for him. That was how she found herself at the park, trying to get four year old to socialize and develop his English.
