Having been sitting inside the car, hands behind his head upon the head-rest, Wesker finally opened his eyes when he heard Chris' call. It was hot. Stinking hot, actually. Even inside the car, completely dead, the heat of Summer could be felt making a thick layer of sweat against his arms and chest.
A piece of junk, Albert thought when it came to the car. He had been impressed--what man wasn't impressed by a Mustang? There were many things as a child that Albert did not experience, and one of those things was the joys of a Mustang roaring all around him. You were never too old for new experiences.
Yes, the luxurious vehicles he had ridden in and even driven thanks to Umbrella, but most of Wesker's experience had been old military vehicles or the police vehicles provided. Good at their jobs, but not a sports car.
Apparently it had been short-lived. Maybe it was just the heat outside that had caused something to kill the engine? Whatever the case, Chris was clearly missing what the issue was.
A sigh had the S.T.A.R.S Captain pushing his sunglasses up as they slid down his nose from the sweat. He opened the door and stepped out, the sun blazing against his pale skin. He never had cared much for the sun...
Rounding the vehicle, he noted Chris' state. Engine oil, sweat, water now dripping over his nape. Apparently this was what teenage girls fawned over in their girly magazines or calendars. Another thing Wesker had never really experienced in his upbringing with Spencer.
Running a hand over the back of his own neck, Albert hummed in thought. "I'm afraid sports cars are out of my scope." He peered at the insides. Give him a corpse and he could tell you every organ and its function, even how many cells it was made of... A car was a completely different field--though he had no doubt he could pull it apart and put it back together with a few nights study.
Perhaps something he should work on, given the circumstances.
He flipped out his Motorola and frowned. "And there's no reception here." No thanks to the mountains, blocking it. Even if Chris did have his own phone, he wouldn't be able to do anything with it. Naturally, Wesker had more options available, such as pagers and other phones that tied him to Umbrella, but this was not something they would send a crew for. No, that was wasted recourses. They were on their own. Even his radio had been left behind, since he was not on duty. This was one of those things called a 'joy ride'.
"Have you the manual in here somewhere? Perhaps if I take a look at it..." As if that would make him a genius mechanic.
